Chapter 120 - Chapter 119: Forgotten Dust Ball

~~~~~~A Bit Later~~~~~~
With Marcus's coronation as Holy Byzantine Emperor, not much has changed. Well, there were callbacks to the new Empire.
The third-generation Mass Production models will be named after Cataphracts, the heavy cavalry of the Persian, Parthian and obviously the Byzantine armies. Apart from that, some of the official positions were renamed.
One of them is 'Strategos'.
Anyway, the Emperor was having fun naming his departments in his free time, as most of the time he was improving medical science.
Limited cloning was one of the things where he clones organs instead of a whole person. This is an extremely impressive piece of technology that can increase people's overall survival.
Apart from that, he wanted to master this technology before he moved on.
To do that, his new data centres began to run simulations with DNA.
As this was happening, the technology and tests were conducted to help his baby sister get her legs back.
"Is that it?" Nunnally asked her brother as they were in Constantinople's main hospital, where Marcus was using his new state-of-the-art technology for the first time.
"Yes, based on my Automated Assembly Lines, this is the Surgical table." He replied to her.
"It looks like one of those scanners you find in Airports," Kallen commented as she looked at the table behind the glass wall.
"Now that you mentioned… yeah, I guess it does look like one." Marcus stroked his chin as he realised, as if it were one of those scanners.
"Anyway, I watch closely that everything is perfect, my dear little sister." The Emperor patted Nunnally's head, reassuring it's fine.
"I know. You spend a considerable time to make this perfect." His little sister smiled at him. She was more than a bit touched by how much he was doing for her.
A few moments later, the doctors took the girl away. In the meantime, Marcus summoned a hologram and checked the status of the Surgery table.
"This tech is already heavily tested. The Nervous system surgery and cybernetics are something we have done thousands of times with a perfect record." He explained to the gathered people.
Among them was his favourite sisters and his Crimson-Haired pilot, as Anna and Leila don't like hospitals anymore.
Especially, Leila, who started throwing up almost daily…
'Well, they wanted to have kids…' He shrugged to himself.
Before long, the operation started, and the Imperial Princess had been put on drugs and was out cold. The robotic hands began the surgical procedure they were programmed to perform.
The software he worked on was specifically designed after Nunnally's spine. It was revised more than a hundred times and overseen by several different AIs…
"Amazing…so this is the future," Marrybell commented. Next to her was her knight, who was watching this with interest.
She can finally see Anaheim using their technology for good and not blowing things up.
"Only the beginning, my dear sister. We have more on the way. Especially given how hostile space is, these technologies are basic.
In future, we will need to figure out radiation and muscle atrophy treatments.
"Muscle atrophy could be bad for the heart and organs in general. So yes, we need to fix these issues before we focus on new diseases and threats we can get in space." He explained to them.
His sisters nodded at him. This was understandable, and not only that, they are happy to see that he cares that much.
Especially for Euphemia and Marrybell. These two realised that he was going further and beyond in these situations.
Marrybell was surprised when Euphemia said that Anaheim's creation was partially because Marcus wanted to fix Nunnally's legs. It made her a bit envious that she doesn't have someone like him close by to be that over-the-top caring.
'Is it just me, or Princess is watching the Emperor a bit too much?' Oldrin did notice that Marrybell is acting a bit strange when she is in the same room as Marcus.
Around thirty minutes later, the last parts of the operation were over, and the Princess was moved to a separate room to rest.
In the meantime, Marcus checked the data he gathered from the operation, and it was exactly as he had expected. It was a perfect and clean operation—the countless tests and simulations he had done paid off.
"Your Majesty, it was a success." The Doctors and staff who were working on this Surgery Table walked over to congratulate the man who worked on this the most.
"It was. I already ordered a mass creation of this tablet for every single hospital in my lands. Once we go further with testing, we can spread it through the whole planet and the colonies."
They nodded at him before leaving the room. As they left, the group went to see the sleeping Princess for a second before returning to their jobs. They will check on her when she wakes up.
~~~

A bit later, the group returned to the hospital to see Nunnally, who was already working with physicians to regain her motor control. It was different with the prosthetics as they helped with leg movement; now she needs to move her legs on her own, and her muscles need to readjust back to how they used to be.

It will be a long process, but that was fine… since there are no Foreign nations to use diplomacy in. Same with Kaguya, the girls don't have much work anymore.

'Or do we…'

Marcus realised midway that he had ignored one nation.

Yep… it was so small that he completely forgot about it!

'Zilkhstan! Damn it! Now this is embarrassing!'

"Take your time, Nunnally; there is not that much for you to do. You can take it easy." The Emperor smiled at her.

But the girl had this serious look.

"I will be joining you, Lelouch! I want to be of some help!" The Princess was feeling useless now that there was no opposition; she needed to think of something else!

"We can think of something…"

After him, there were other people who came to see her. From her sisters to her friends, even Milly, who was sulking on the Eastern side of the planet.

She didn't want to leave Japan, as it was her home, but sadly, many people moved to Constantinople for a simple reason: it was the seat of power, and everyone wanted to be close to the Emperor.

It leaves her as she graduated from the academy and is now working full-time in the HR department of the Imperial Government.

"I hope you do and don't leave me behind to sulk!" Nunnally puffed her cheeks from the annoyance. Her brother has this uncanny way of letting her be as he goes about his thing!

Just by looking at Milly, who she has not seen in weeks! It's clear that the moment he is annoyed, he leaves them be and just goes and does things halfway across the world or even in space.

"Then think of something yourself, my dear sister. I am giving you all the tools you need; the rest is up to you." He said that quite seriously before leaving the room.

He is a bit embarrassed. There is a country he needs to conquer ASAP!

~~~~~~Later~~~~~~
"I thought you would never do it, and just leave it be. After all, it's a dust ball." Cornelia laughed as she watched her brother and Emperor blush from embarrassment as they left his territories and rushed towards the Middle East with 9 Carriers and 18 Support Frigates.
"Don't be ridiculous. How can I call myself Emperor of the World when there is a country that doesn't belong to me!" He exclaimed with anger at his big sister.
The Goddess of War laughed even more before looking at the map. This country was so small that they could see the streets in the hologram projection, rather than the provinces she used to see.
Eventually, she got serious.
"Very well. This is our last war on the surface of the world."
'Hopefully.'
The Princess frowned, determined to make sure this never happens as long as she is alive!
"I will help as well!" Kallen, who, alongside Jeanne, joined the very last second, nodded at Cornelia. They do want to end all conflicts and focus on what is important.
"Good, then I will be relying on you two." The War Princess sharply nodded at them as soon as the warships began to pick up speed and ascend higher.
They won't be leaving the Atmosphere as the country is not that far from the Capital of the World.
"Do girls your best. This is your last trip for a while." Marcus calmed down and looked at his two girls, who went with him.
He left Anna and Leila back at home. He has banned a bunch of things for them. They wanted kids, so now he is making sure they know the error of their ways.
The Emperor won't be letting them off that easily!
"Understood." Jeanne nodded, and Kallen smiled a bit as she wondered if these guys would be a decent challenge.
For a country this size to continue to exist, it needs to be decently strong to survive.
"Do we know their military strength?" Kallen asked as she strolled over and sat down on Marcus's lap. There was a suggestive smile on her face. The girl was thinking of…things. Now that Anna and Leila are out of the picture, focusing on being mothers, she has free rein to do whatever she wants!
"Not quite. They are a mercenary country. Offering their soldiers to other countries.
There were plans back in Britannia to conquer them so that they wouldn't offer their soldiers to our enemies." Cornelia explained to them.
"...If Britannia was willing to go that far. Then they are decent."
"Decent or not. They are no match for Anaheim— I mean our Glorious Holy Byzantine Empire." The older sibling joked at Marcus, who rolled his eyes at his sarcastic sister.
"Jokes aside. We shall surround them. I leave this to you, my dear sister." He ordered her.
The War Princess rolled her eyes.
"Sure, whatever you say, my beloved Emperor." She dramatically bowed before walking closer to the map and issuing orders on how the fleet would surround the small coastal nation.
"Now that my sister is busy, we can 'talk'." Marcus wrapped his hands around Kallen's slender waist.
"Let's 'talk'." Kallen grinned from ear to ear. This is what she is 'talking' about.
~~~

A blonde woman dressed in robes was looking at the distance as she saw massive airships taking positions around the borders of her nation.

This was the Queen Shamna, the spiritual head of the Kingdom of Zilkhstan.

She and her younger brother are the Queen and King of this nation. Before taking over, she was part of the Geass Order, which was until they moved to a location she is not aware of.

But now… she is aware that she can't run away anymore. The world has changed, and it has become something that her Kingdom can't survive in.

Britannia, China, Europia, all of those countries were gone in a matter of months; all that is left is this new country, conquered by the Britannian Prince.

"...We will fight till our last breath…sister." Her brother got her attention as she turned away from the fleet and looked at him.

Her brother, even in a wheelchair, is one of the best pilots her country has produced. However… they don't have Mobile Suits…

Anaheim's appearance created a technological gap that they can't easily cross.

"No need… we can't win… no matter what we do. Anaheim is not Britannia, the gap in technology is… absurd." Shamna said with a frustrated gaze.

"...Then… we will give up?" Shalio exclaimed, he was in disbelief!

"Regardless of what we do… fighting against the whole world? Even Zilkhstan can't do it. Regardless of how great our warriors are." She didn't want to admit it… but this… well…

The sheer size of those carriers. The sight of these war machines makes her knees shake.

"...We shall keep our channels open and listen to their demands." The blonde Queen ordered her followers to nod with fearful gazes.

This wasn't newly created Anaheim; if this were their early days of conflict when they were waging war against the whole world, then yes, she would have resisted no matter what.

But this was an Empire that conquered everything and kept its Kingdom as a desert to be eaten last.
