Chapter 6 - Chapter 5: God of Sky, Tiranis

With the Fusion Reactor online, the rest of things depended on resources, which were flowing in at a decent pace.

Thus, failure was not a setback; instead, it was a lesson to learn.

It took around a year to shrink a fusion reactor and make it a viable source of energy. Sakuradite played a huge part in how quickly he was able to make it work.

Instead of a room-sized thing, it was merely one square metre, a power source that emits enough power to power an entire city.

After the Fusion reactor, it was time to create a frame. First were joints, based on his prosthetics technology, the explosive power of servomotors combined with Sakuradite, it became something monstrous.

With the frame completed, next was the cockpit, which will be placed in the torso. Instead of a regular square used by Knightmares, it will be a full-on panoramic sphere, with hologramic support. Holograms were easily replicated, and once again, Sakuradite easily replaced the alloys used in his previous world.

It's not fair how much this pink thing can replace.

But it makes it easier for him to work, so he might as well abuse it.

Once the cockpit was finished, Marcus began to assemble the machine.

"So that's your machine." Milly casually commented, as she was a constant presence in his workshop.

"The KK-00 codename 'Lugh'." Marcus replied as he was connecting the head unit to the main frame.

"...A Celtic God." She replied after thinking for a second.

"Indeed. A machine as powerful as this one needs a good name." He said with a smile.

"Though a much different one than Knightmare." She noticed the lack of the ejection thingy she saw in Glasgow.

"Because it's not Knightmare." He said with a smirk.

"It's a Knightmare Killer, you can even call it a mobile suit. Just from the fact that it has a different development route." The Inventor Prince explained to her.

"I see. Regardless, I am here to tell you that the end-of-the-year party will start soon." The blonde explained.

"Right. I guess I will take a shower."

"Do that. You've been skipping quite a bit of end-of-year stuff." Milly sighed. She was amazed by how much he was skipping and yet still finishing everything with excellent marks.

'I am a bit jealous, how good he is at everything.'

She even tried Knightmare simulation, made from the Glasgow cockpit, and he was able to beat all of her scores easily!

It's not fair!

After finishing the prototype frame, Marcus began experimenting, walking around inside of it, gathering data.

He needs data for thrusters, including where to place them, while also regulating the fusion reactor and determining the amount of power required.

His Lugh model, while not the prettiest, had no placed limits.

That's why he named the machine after the Sun God, because it had unfettered sun inside of it.

But it was far too dangerous; that is why future models will have shackles.

For now, he continued to gather data.

Eventually, his AI got enough information and theory… well, not theory for him. Ion technology soon became a reality.

Ion thrusters, technology based on electromagnetism, began to be implemented. The sheer force of these thrusters caused him to spend another year pondering how to improve the frame, which was where he discarded tungsten completely, as it was useless in his eyes.

This metal is widely used by knightmares, but it's where Marcus began to create a version of his metal that will not only surpass the regular alloy used in Knightmares, but will be viable in space use.

After all, Ion tech is space-worthy, with limitless potential when used next to a Fusion Reactor.

However, this path led him to discover something curious in the waves.

'Isn't this stuff used by Rakshasa?'

Marcus realised that his Ion tech gets close to the red waves used by that knightmare developer. The difference is based on Sakuradite instead of his pure Ion study.

New routes of tech development led to the creation of the 01 model, also named Taranis, after the Celtic God of Sky. The Inventor Prince began to implement even more prototype tech.

Weapons, transformable frames, in other words, plane mode.

Weapons include a Beam rifle, based on Plasma technology that derived from Ion, and beam sabers, using the same principle as Beam rifle technology.

These are the most basic technologies of Mobile Suit tech, or at least that's how he sees it.

Once the mech was assembled by the Automated Assembly lines, it was time for testing. There is a place he wants to see.

Marcus changed his clothes for this one. Dressed in a dark purple and black one-piece body suit, he put gloves on and took his favourite bladed weapon.

A sword became a constant companion. When it became too much, he would take the weapon and lock himself in the Dojo, which he built next to his workshop. A couple of hours of meditation and reckless sword swinging would help him cool off.

Now, each time he goes for one of his test runs, he takes his sword with him.

Once ready, he walked to a machine in plane mode, which was blue and white, the colour of the sky.

Unlike Lugh, which looks like it's built from expensive metals like gold.

As he got close to the machine, the underbelly section opened, and he could enter it. Once he climbed in, the hatch closed, the seat readjusted, and the belts locked him in place.

Then the monitors that were in a 360-degree view began to power up. It looked like a wave of white particles washed over, and soon enough, he saw the workshop through the cameras.

After viewing the holograms, they powered up.

[Boost up completed]

[Neural Linkage Online]

[Fusion Reactor stable]

[Excess energy is being rerouted to auxiliary batteries]

[Sign lock-on calibrated]

[Ion Thrusters operational]

[Life-support online]

[All sections of Mobile Suit Operational and Ready]

[We are all set, sir.]

All the pop-ups were dismissed with a thought as Marcus' hands went to the control sticks.

He got the feel for them as then one of his hands went for the lever.

It was for the thrusters; he pushed it forward to the borderline red bar.

Beyond that, he needs to remove the limiters.

"We are all set, open the doors."

[Understood. Opening the main doors.]

In front of the mobile suit, a pair of metal doors began to open. These led directly to Japan's old subway system.

The whole place has been explored by him in his KK-00 Lugh test runs.

He repurposed the familiar sections for himself and even caved in parts of the sections, basically making it part of his territory, with only one exit, making the whole place like his Batcave.

Now, he is using it for stealth launches, like this one.

"Let's go."

The machine lifted itself off before moving forward, blasting itself out of the workshop.

He didn't hold back his speed as he knew the tunnels like the back of his hand.

After a few seconds, his machine was outside. He immediately went up, towards the sky.

Once high in the air, he turned around. Since his exit was towards the Pacific, he needed to turn towards mainland Asia.

He did that high in the air before, starting to climb even more, the blue plasma from the thrusters got brighter as the reactor began to generate even more power.

The climbing speed picked up as the machine soon left the atmosphere and entered the darkness of Space.

"...Finally… I missed you…" Marcus closed his eyes as he enjoyed the weightlessness.

Several moments later, he opened his eyes and began to check the navigation.

For that, he had hacked Britannian military servers and downloaded their maps.

The thing about this strange era is that the Britannians or any other faction barely utilised space to their advantage.

GPS is still in its infancy, and Sakuradite has messed up the natural flow of technology advancement.

Regardless, his machine is invisible to most forms of radio, as it emits an electromagnetic field through Ion thrusters.

His machine is still visible through heat sensors, but most forms of radios are used by the militaries of the world. Good luck trying to find him.

After selecting his destination, he began to fly towards that location. His destination was Eastern Europe, his birthplace.

Not this body's birthplace, but his previous one's.

The trip wasn't that long as the machine began to enter the atmosphere after less than a thirty-minute flight.

'Thankfully, I included G force absorbers and the new alloy is holding firm.'

Marcus thought to himself as the holograms were flashing red, showing the heat outside the machine.

Eventually, the flashing and mobile suit shaking ended as he was flying high above the land that should be Western Russia.

But, this territory should be Euro Britannia at the moment.

Not that he cared, as his gaze went to the Baltic Sea, he began to dive there, moving at rapid speed.

After a short burst of speed, his machine was flying around a familiar river basin.

'It should be around here.'

His eyes widened as he saw a familiar hill. He accelerated for a second before his widened eyes turned into horror.

What he saw were the ruins of a town!

His machine unfolded into humanoid form, landing on its feet.

He just stood there and watched the ruins of flats, suburban houses, all of which looked like a battlefield had passed through!

One could say that it finally hit him home. That he was on Earth, a very familiar Earth, yet it was not his Earth; his true home was gone.

Before this, he played along; he was role-playing the Exiled Prince, thinking of getting revenge for him. Playing his part, paying back the debt for the body.

All that stuff, the sense that he owes something to the prince whose body he took over.

Yet all that time, part of him hoped that he would be able to see his town. Even if it were a foreign place, it would be his place. Regardless of reality, it was still Earth, and the place was still the same.

But now…

His eyes twitched. He was about to lose it.

*BOOM*

His gaze, like a predator, moved towards the source of the explosion.

The machine zoomed in for him. He saw explosions; it was a battlefield.

That moment, something inside of him snapped. His mobile suit reacted to him. The 01 Taranis jumped and once again folded into a plane and rushed towards the battlefield.

~~~
"Die, you filthy fake Knightmare!" A Sutherland was dancing through the field with an assault rifle, shredding a weird machine that looked like an imitation of Knightmare.
The pilot was disgusted by what he saw as his machine blasted the fake Knightmare apart, causing it to explode.
He, alongside his buddies, wanted to continue to advance, but a streak of blue light disintegrated a white and blue knightmare, causing it to explode.
The streak of light was so strong that the pilot of Knightmare didn't even notice when he died.
Other Sutherlands stopped and looked at the explosion with shock and horror.
"Where is it coming from—" *BOOM*
The machine blew up before the pilot could finish speaking.
The last remaining Sutherland looked around before looking upwards.
"No way…"*BOOM*
The three machines were gone as the mech in the air that was floating slowly turned around and looked at the Europia United machines.
"W-Who are you—" *BOOM*
He then blew up all the other machines. Destroying both sides of this conflict.
Once they were gone, the blue and white machine with two beam rifles in its hands looked around. Spotting a huge purple moving fortress, the machine rushed towards it without any hesitation.
~~~

"M-My Lord!" The commanding officer spoke to the man sitting on the throne. He was dressed in blue noble garbs.

There was panic in his eyes as they could see the machine rushing towards them, but it was not on the radar!

The man leading the attack was Grand Master of the Holy Order of Raphael, Andrea Farnese. Before he could reply, a blue beam erased the whole top of the G-1Base. The next second, the entire moving fortress exploded as the built-in batteries ignited.

With the Britannians gone, he turned back as he began to look for the forward base of the Europia United.
