Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"I knew she wasn't a good person. She's always hunched over, like someone's ripped out her spine."

"Yeah, that whole family is no good. That Shen Meng loves to stir up trouble. Luckily, she finally drowned in the river. Look at her husband now, tsk tsk tsk, he used to be so good, but she dragged him down like this."

"And their kids, bah, not a single one's learned anything good. The eldest's always stealing chickens, fighting, and even harassing his wife. The second son's even worse, he got caught for speculation and still dared to curse his fourth aunt. He deserves to be struck by lightning! What a pity for Xiao Ni, marrying such an old man."

"Hehehe, maybe he likes it. Stop nagging, you bunch of old women."

Shen Meng, disturbed by the noise, stared at the blurry scene before her. Subconsciously, she knew she was dreaming, but looking at the disheveled man on the ground, she felt a deep sadness, especially hearing the stories of the three children's ordeal.

She wanted to take a few steps forward, to see the man lying on the ground more clearly, to understand why she kept having these bizarre dreams.

"Shen Meng, where are you? Come back, Mengmeng!"

  The next instant,

  Shen Meng opened her eyes.

  She stared at the ceiling.

  Something was wrong.

Ever since she went to the old man on the overpass to have her fortune told, her life had become strange.

That day, on her way home from work, she passed a fortune-telling stall on the overpass. The old man said he hadn't made a sale in days, so out of kindness, she had her fortune told.

Who knew the old man would say she was cursed and about to suffer a bloody disaster, but if she bought his "888 Shocking Curse-Eliminating Package," she would definitely have great fortune, many children, and a long life.

Okay, she's really had a run of bad luck these past few days. Several of her orders were snatched away by her colleagues. 888 yuan, consider it a loss to avoid further trouble.

Hey, the very next day, she landed a multi-million dollar deal.

But before she could even sign it, she was in a serious car accident on her way to meet the client. She spent a month in the ICU, survived, and received 1.8 million yuan in accident compensation and 1.6 million yuan in workers' compensation from her company. But she had to have her uterus removed—how could she possibly have both a son and a daughter?

But fate played another cruel joke on her.

She started having bizarre dreams every night, dreaming that she was someone else, with three sons and a daughter, but seemingly unhappy, hated by everyone.

Shen Meng wanted to confront that old man. Who gets their "good fortune" package like this? Was her wealth from the accident compensation? Was having both a son and a daughter from supporting someone else? If living to 100 like this, hated by everyone, she wouldn't mind dying early!

But Shen Meng went several times, and never saw that fortune teller's stall on the overpass again.

Yesterday was even more outrageous—she seemed to have awakened a spatial dimension!

As a product of the internet's influence, Shen Meng had read countless online novels.

Was this preparation for time travel? Was she really going to become that woman and live that era?

She couldn't just leave empty-handed, could she?

Besides, money was different back then, and she couldn't take her house or car with her. Perhaps she should stockpile some supplies in her spatial dimension?

After making up her mind, Shen Meng began to calculate her assets.

The house was in a good location and could probably sell for 6 million yuan, while the used car could fetch around 100,000 yuan. Over the years, although she had earned some money from her work, it had all been spent on the house, leaving her with only around 100,000 yuan in cash. Fortunately, the car accident had resulted in nearly 4 million yuan in compensation. The next morning

, after breakfast, Shen Meng quickly tidied herself up and rushed to a real estate agency with her property deed and documents.

She was eager to liquidate her assets; she was willing to negotiate the price, but it had to be a full cash payment. A loan would take a long time, and she was afraid she might disappear at any moment, so she needed to deal with it as soon as possible.

After the agency listed the house, Shen Meng immediately went to stockpile supplies.
