When I had taunted Mariyah earlier, I never imagined my cruel words would become the spark that lit this explosive situation. Now I could see it burning bright and dangerous in Alpha Alonzo's bloodshot eyes as they fixed on Alpha Mateo with murderous intent.
The entire clearing fell silent for one heartbeat.
