Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: A “Friendly” Greeting for the New Classmate

To be honest, Ryan had only been in this world for a few short days since his transmigration.

During that time, he had done little more than adapt to his new body and absorb the memories of its previous owner.

Though the experience was surreal, Ryan wasn't entirely shaken—he'd read enough web novels to know that being transported to another world was a classic trope.

Still, aside from adjusting to his new identity, he hadn't quite figured out what kind of world he'd landed in.

But now, things were starting to get… interesting.

"Alright, Gian and Suneo, that's enough!"

The teacher on the podium frowned as the classroom grew increasingly noisy, his voice rising several octaves.

The authority in his tone immediately silenced the chatter. Both Gian and Suneo, whose names had been called, froze and obediently shut their mouths.

If Ryan had been uncertain about what kind of world this was before, he no longer had any doubts.

Those names— Gian and Suneo—were unmistakable.

"Nobita, go stand in the hallway—" The teacher stopped mid-sentence, then sighed.

"Forget it. It's the first day of the new semester. I'll let you off this time. Hurry back to your seat, we're about to begin class."

The teacher's patience with Nobita was clearly worn thin, but perhaps even he didn't want to start the semester with punishment.

"Yes, Teacher!"

Nobita hurried back to his seat, nearly tripping over his schoolbag as he did so.

His clumsy movement immediately drew snickers from around the room.

Ryan couldn't help but notice a few familiar faces among the giggling students—Hidetoshi Dekisugi, wearing his trademark confident smile, and Shizuka Minamoto, covering her mouth as she giggled softly.

There was no longer any doubt in Ryan's mind—he had landed squarely in the world of Doraemon.

"Ryan, your seat will be… hmm, over there," said the teacher after scanning the classroom. He pointed to an empty desk right beside Shizuka.

The student who had sat there previously had just transferred away.

"Thank you, Teacher." Ryan nodded politely, genuinely pleased with the arrangement.

Sitting next to Shizuka Minamoto certainly didn't sound bad.

"You're welcome," the teacher replied with a smile. "My name is Mr. Mochinaru Eiichirou, your homeroom teacher. If you have any problems, don't hesitate to come to me."

Mr. Mochinaru was clearly pleased with Ryan's respectful attitude.

Watching the boy walk calmly to his seat, he nodded in approval before turning back to prepare for the lesson.

From beginning to end, Ryan remained composed—displaying none of the nervousness that usually came with being a transfer student.

That calm demeanor, however, rubbed Gian and Suneo the wrong way.

Who did this new kid think he was? Acting so cool and unbothered on his first day?

After exchanging mischievous glances, Gian and Suneo smirked. They had already decided to give the new kid a "friendly" welcome later.

When Ryan walked past their desks, they suddenly stuck out their feet, hoping to trip him.

But such a cheap trick was too easy for Ryan to notice.

He smirked faintly, stepped neatly over their outstretched legs, and continued walking as if nothing had happened.

"Dang it! How'd he dodge that?!"

Their little prank had failed spectacularly, leaving the two troublemakers staring in disbelief. With the teacher still watching, they could only drop their plan for now.

Ryan walked over to the empty seat beside Shizuka and quietly sat down.

Shizuka glanced his way, curiosity in her eyes.

She was interested in the new transfer student from the U.S., but as a well-behaved student, she didn't whisper during class.

Instead, she simply smiled politely and gave him a small nod. Ryan returned the gesture with a faint smile of his own.

"Alright, everyone, take out your textbooks," said Mr. Mochinaru from the front. "We're starting the lesson."

As the class settled down, Ryan let his thoughts drift.

Before today, he had taken things one step at a time, unsure what kind of world he'd entered.

But now that he knew—now that he understood he was in Doraemon's world—he had to start thinking about what came next.

On the surface, this might seem like an ordinary, peaceful world. But with Doraemon and his futuristic gadgets around, danger could come at any moment.

Just thinking about the chaotic adventures from the Doraemon movies made Ryan uneasy—things like the massive robot army in Nobita and the Steel Troops, the dark magic of Nobita's Great Adventure into the Underworld, and the terrifying Wind Tribe in Nobita and the Windmasters.

Each of those threats had enough power to destroy the world.

If he ever got caught up in one of those events without any means to protect himself… he could very well end up dead.
