Chapter 11 - Chapter 10 — Day 7: Test of Resolve

Valmor — Dawn over the Soul Plateau

The morning air was cold and sharp, carrying the faint scent of mist and iron. The horizon glowed pale orange as the first rays of sunlight cut through Valmor's mountain peaks. The arena was silent. No beasts. No runes. Only two figures stood in the stillness — Roy and Aryan.

Today, there would be no lesson.Only truth.

Roy's eyes glimmered faintly in the sunrise. His tone was calm, but the weight behind his words pressed like stone.

"This is your final test, Aryan. If you can land a single clean hit on me — even a graze — you pass."

Aryan nodded. "That's it?"

Roy smirked. "That's everything."

He drew his blade, its steel humming softly — the same weapon that once cut through chaos beasts and rogue spirits alike.Aryan exhaled slowly, tightening the bandages around his wrists.

The Duel Begins

The instant the wind shifted, Roy moved.

A blur of motion — his sword slicing through air faster than sight. Aryan barely managed to block, the impact sending a shock through his arm. Sparks flew as steel met steel.

Roy's voice echoed, calm but commanding:

"You've trained your body. Now show me your soul!"

Aryan slid back, grounding his stance. He focused — letting his breathing steady, his heart synchronize with the rhythm of his Copy Soul. He remembered every day of training — every failure, every scream, every scar.

Day 1 — Endure.Day 2 — Adapt.Day 3 — Strike with courage.Day 4 — Feel your soul.Day 5 — Face your fear.Day 6 — Control your power.

Now, it was time to become all of them.

He launched forward, faster than before, his blade flashing in multiple arcs. Roy parried each one effortlessly, his movements fluid — elegant but merciless.

"You're faster," Roy said, smirking. "But not enough."

He twisted, his sword's edge grazing Aryan's cheek. Aryan countered with a sweep kick, using his agility from Day 2. Roy blocked — but Aryan immediately shifted stance, mimicking Roy's own sword flow from earlier.

Roy's eyes flickered — surprise. He's using my own pattern…

Soul Flow Unleashed

Aryan's Copy Soul flared. Not crimson — but blue-white this time, calm and balanced. He moved in perfect rhythm with Roy, matching his master's every motion — speed for speed, angle for angle, breath for breath.

Their swords clashed in a dazzling sequence — two shadows moving as one.The clash wasn't master versus student anymore. It was soul against soul.

Roy's inner voice whispered: He's reading me now… not my moves, but my intent.

Then, with a sudden pivot, Aryan drew energy from deep within — copying Roy's signature strike, Flash Arc, a technique that condensed soul energy into a blinding slash.

Roy saw the stance and widened his eyes.

"You— you learned that just by watching?!"

Aryan grinned faintly. "You said I was a quick learner."

The next second — a flash of light.

Their blades met in a storm of sparks. When the light cleared, Aryan stood behind Roy, sword extended. A single crimson line ran across Roy's shoulder — not deep, but clean.

A hit.

Silence filled the field.

Roy touched his shoulder, then chuckled — the first genuine laugh Aryan had ever heard from him.

"Well, I'll be damned.""You've surpassed my expectations, Aryan of Valmor."

Aryan, panting heavily, lowered his sword and gave a small, humble bow. "Thank you… Master."

Roy sheathed his blade and reached into his coat. From within, he withdrew a small silver insignia — shaped like a phoenix rising through flame.

"This marks the completion of your training," Roy said, placing it in Aryan's palm. "When you arrive at the Elden Continent, It's proof that you're no ordinary initiate."

Roy also show something to Aryan that a black dress and Aryan reply "what is this dress ?"

Roy nodded "this is gift from me to you i want you to wear this in legion exam because i wanted my son to wear this but this never happen "

Aryan "what your son were he is ? "

Roy nodded again "he is not here he and my wife is dead and when i saw you i think you as my son so please if you wear this i will be happy "

Aryan hug officer Roy "thank you for everything i will win the legion exam "

Aryan studied the insignia, light reflecting off its surface. "I… won't forget what you've taught me."

Roy's gaze softened for the first time. "See that you don't. Because where you're going, strength won't be enough."

Aryan looked up, puzzled. "Then what will be?"

Roy's voice dropped low — almost a whisper.

"You'll need heart. And maybe… answers you've been chasing since that night."

Aryan's breath caught. "That night…?"

Roy looked away, his expression shadowed.

"You have your father's fire, kid. Don't let it burn you."

Before Aryan could ask more, Roy turned toward the rising sun. "Your path begins now. Valmor's gates will open at dusk — your journey to Elden starts then."

The Dawn of a New Soul

As Roy left, Aryan stood alone on the plateau, the morning wind brushing past his hair.He looked down at the insignia — the symbol of his trial, his pain, his growth — and closed his fist around it.

The sun rose higher, casting a golden glow over the valley. The world ahead was vast and uncertain — filled with war, secrets, and the truth behind his family's death. But for the first time, Aryan felt ready.

"Valmor taught me how to survive," he whispered. "Now it's time to live."

The camera of the world seemed to pull back — the lone figure standing on the edge of a cliff, the rising sun behind him, his shadow stretching across the land like the birth of something new.

A new soul, reborn from fire and fear.
