Chapter 4 - Hisoka the Magician

"Oh my~ What unbelievable talent and rate of improvement. It's only been a few days since our last fight, and yet you've already awakened Nen. No! Hold back. Hold back. Now is not the time. This apple needs to ripen a little more before it will be truly delicious!"

Hisoka, perched on the window ledge, curled his lips into a smile, repeatedly licking them. His eyes were locked onto the wolf and the boy, radiating an unparalleled sense of excitement.

Even an idiot could feel the intense desire for combat surging from his body.

Normally, most people would lose control of their minds or flee recklessly when faced with this level of killing intent. But Allen looked completely unfazed, gazing back with his violet eyes, his demeanor as calm as a deep pool of water.

Undoubtedly, this was a peculiar feeling, not his innate nature. To be precise, he only entered this indescribable state when his life was threatened or when he used his Hunter identity to enter a dungeon and kill monsters. It was as if he had completely discarded all emotions, including anger, hatred, joy, fear, and sorrow, leaving only calm calculation and primal combat instinct.

Initially, he thought this state might be a subconscious self-protection mechanism triggered by external stimuli. However, after a period of observation and testing, he realized it was a natural consequence of fully immersing himself in the Hunter game role. In other words, this was a certain aptitude required by the Hunter class, functioning like a second personality.

The only difference was that this second personality did not generate independent consciousness, thoughts, or memories. It merely processed information and experience accumulated over time, combined with his current situation, to make the most optimal decisions.

"Hehe, such beautiful eyes, they're truly mesmerizing, like jewels. I'd love to scoop them out and make them into specimens. Don't worry, I didn't come here to trouble you this time. I intend to have her provide a little treatment for you. After all, I wouldn't want a young apple like you, who is about to ripen, to be ruined by a worm."

Seeing that Allen remained silent, Hisoka offered an explanation, all while his fingers continuously formed various suit shapes from playing cards using Nen.

"No need. I won't accept any favors from you. Because at the Hunter Exam next year, I will return all the violence you inflicted on me. You'd better book your own treatment first," Allen flatly refused, hopping down from the hospital bed.

"Hmm?! Your injuries are healed!" Hisoka instantly widened his eyes, seemingly unable to believe the reality before him.

As the saying goes, a hundred days to heal a broken bone, and even a protagonist like Gon took a long time to recover from severe injuries, and that was after he had learned Nen. While certain specialized Nen abilities could accelerate wound healing, this was certainly not something a newly awakened Nen novice could achieve.

"That's right. I will spend the next year training myself. You just clean your neck and wait for a beating." Allen made no attempt to hide his intention to seek revenge.

He knew that Hisoka's obsession and fanaticism for combat were unique in the entire Hunter x Hunter World; he even immensely enjoyed the thrill of brushing past death. More importantly, he possessed the patience to actively cultivate a strong opponent, only striking when they reached a level worth killing. That worth, at the very least, had to be the ability to kill him.

"Hahahaha! I absolutely look forward to the Hunter Exam next year! Get stronger! Make me feel fear and tremble! Just like you did during this exam! Hunt me like prey!" Hisoka burst into maniacal laughter.

After saying this, he leaped out of the window and vanished into the vast night.

The small woman, who was likely the Phantom Troupe member Machi, followed silently.

The two walked along the street, one after the other, for over three hundred meters before Machi couldn't resist asking, "Why didn't you figure out how his injuries healed? If he really suffered the severe wounds you described, ordinary Nen abilities absolutely couldn't have completely healed them in such a short time."

"Mmm, don't forget, the Hunter Association has all sorts of Nen users. Perhaps Chairman Netero found a Hunter with powerful healing abilities. I'm not interested in such trivialities; all that matters is that my little apple stays healthy," Hisoka shrugged indifferently.

"Tch! Even if you didn't need the treatment, you still owe the fee. Pay up!" The woman extended her hand directly.

"I'll wire it to your account later."

Money was never an issue for powerful Nen users like Hisoka; if he wanted to, he could earn tens of billions, even hundreds of billions, of Jenny in a short period. Although the purchasing power of the Jenny was equivalent to the Japanese Yen in the real world, a hundred billion Jenny was still less than a hundred million US dollars. The wealthy man in the game Greed Island who offered a 50 billion Jenny reward to clear the game was actually only putting up about 400 million US dollars — a sum that paled in comparison to the hundreds of millions that Earth's billionaires spent on custom private jets, yachts, and luxury villas.

"Okay! I'll be going if there's nothing else." With that, the woman was about to turn and leave.

"Bye-bye!" Hisoka waved without looking back.

As the two dangerous figures parted ways, Allen had already teleported from the hospital room into the dungeon, utilizing the ten-fold time difference to intensely train his Nen.

As a calm and composed adult, he did not rush to test his Nen category using the Water Divination ritual. Instead, he focused on continuous, basic training. Thanks to Gon and Killua, the anime had provided a detailed, step-by-step explanation of the process from fundamental to advanced Nen techniques, so he didn't have to worry about taking the wrong path — he just had to train diligently according to the steps.

A year might seem short to others, but for him, one year could be used as ten. If ten years were still insufficient to defeat Hisoka, then he would be a complete failure as a transmigrator.

For now, the priority was to boost his Aura reserves and accumulate combat experience by continuously fighting monsters in the dungeon, refining his mind, will, and technique.

Having awakened Nen, both Allen and Lupos's offensive and defensive power received a massive boost, allowing him to start attempting to take on the dungeon's Bosses.

After ten days in the real world, over two thousand hours of fierce fighting in the dungeon, he finally raised his Hunter level to 48 and successfully cleared the entire Uldaman dungeon.

The moment the final boss, Ancient Stone Keeper Archaedas, fell, a powerful sense of accomplishment and satisfaction surged from his heart, as if his entire being had been elevated.

"So this is the feeling of a successful hunt…"

Lying on the dusty floor of the Uldaman Main Hall, Allen raised his right hand, a confident smile spreading across his face. He completely ignored the rock golems that had been smashed into fragments around him and didn't even look at the weapons and gear that Archaedas had dropped. He simply stared at the ceiling, wanting to preserve the thrill of that first successful hunt forever in the deepest part of his memory.
