Min Jae almost fell as the train tilted sideways at high speeds. It was almost uncomfortable and he did not like this situation at all. The reason why he hadn't gone to sit on an empty seat when he got on was because of the female in front of him.
His crush. He did not know her name, sadly but he felt like he was a part of her life. After all, they get on the same train everyday to school for the past three years.
Min Jae could feel that the girl also wanted to converse with him, unfortunately he was not man enough to do so.
The train tilted yet again this time he and the girl bumped and they quickly repositioned themselves. They just looked at each other for a brief second.
*Finally. Is it finally happening?* Min Jae thought, after three long years are they finally going to say a word to each other? Had the time come?
Yes.
However, not for that. Fate always had other plans. They were suddenly interrupted from their little moment when Min Jae noticed something appear in his line of sight.
『SYSTEM AWAKENING』
『RANDOMISING CLASS』
『CLASS: ASSASSIN』
『INSATLLING UPDATE』
『COMPLETION: 15%』
"Huh? Classes? System?" Min Jae muttered.* What is this a game? Am I hallucinating? I knew love made people mad...but this is too much.*
He looked at the girl who seemed to have a puzzeld look on her face. Min Jae wondered if he had done something wrong. A thought crossed his mind about how he could not find his usual perfume today and had to compromise by using his roommate's instead.
*No, that's not it*
He looked at everyone else in the train. They too had puzzled looks. And they were all looking at something unseen but visible to them.
『COMPLETION: 49%』
He looked at the screen still in front of him. *This is getting weird. What is this screen doing in front of me?*
He started hearing murmurs in the train.
"Wait you see a screen too? Me too. That's odd. I thought I was the only one." He heard a young boy say to his friend.
An adult heard this exchange, "You young ones also see a screen? So do I. What is happening?"
With that many people in the train started talking about how they were seeing a screen too. "Mine is showing it's at fifty percent how about yours?"
"Yes yes. Me too." Another exclaimed.
Min Jae looked at his screen.
『COMPLETION: 50%』
*The same number. So... I'm not the only one that sees a screen? In that case I'm not hallucinating then. What the heck is going on.* He thought. The girl still looked into the thin air, nothing visible. Min Jae decided to take the chance and start a conversation, "Do you see some sort of screen too?" He said as confidently as he could.
The girl looked up, " Umm, yes. Yes I do. That mean you also see it?"
*Ahh, her voice so sweet. It's music to my ears. Sigh* he thought to himself, melting inside.
『COMPLETION: 67%』
"Hey, the screen first said something about a class what did you get?" Min Jae, trying his luck, taking advantage of the situation.
"Uh, it says saint." She quickly replied, seemingly shy.
*No way. Saint that is like the girl version of a hero in an RPG. If this was it she would totally be overpowered.*
The girl looked at Min Jae, this time she started the exchange, "How about you?"
"Oh, mine said Assassin." Immediately as those words left his lips he regretted it. Like he just said Assassin like it was nothing that is just weird behavior, well at least that is what he thought.
"Oh, do you have any idea what is going on?" She asked.
"The awakening." This was not min Jae but was a boy behind him.
The boy appeared to be around the same age group as Min Jae and his crush. He was obviously the nerdy and introverted type like Min Jae but of....a higher level
"Sorry what?" Min Jae asked, "Awakening?"
"Yes don't you see. Everyone in this moment is face to face with individual screens only they can see. Not only that but I'm sure when your screen and everyone else's appeared it said something about awakening didn't it. It's like the webnovels, don't you see? The world as we know it is changing." He said, he said it with such confidence, almost as if he were saying something groundbreaking. Honestly, Min Jae was a little embarrassed for him as surrounding people heard him.
Min Jae pondered, *Awakening? As much as I hate to admit it that is the only logical explanation right now. But that only happens in fiction. This is real life. This must be some kind of secret test by some AI company. Yes that's it.*
『COMPLETION: 88%』
The nerdy guy, who had gotten not only Min Jae's attention but his crush and a few surrounding people fixed his glasses with his middle finger, "The time is nigh. This is Genesis the beginning of a new world!"
*Sigh. That's why I decided to stop and end my addiction to games, webnovels, animations and the likes. This guy has lost it.*
Everyone had now gone silent as the completion percentage was nearing a hundred percent.
『COMPLETION: 95%』
It was now at this time a fear started to build inside Min Jae. What if this was indeed some kind of awakening? Would that mean there would be dungeon breaks? That's what happens in webnovels after all.
『COMPLETION: 98%』
*Well it's not like there is anything to do about it. This might even be a dream.*
The nerd raised his hands high, "Let the games begin!"
『COMPLETION: 99%』
『ERROR. ERROR.』
『MULFUNCTIONING. SYSTEM CORRUPTED』
『SYSTEM CORRUPT』
A few murmurs spread, "Corrupt? Hey mines saying corrupt. How about yours?"
"Nope, mine said successfully updated."
"Really? Hey how about your screen?"
"Mine also says updated successfully updated." Another replied.
At this point the nerd had already put Min Jae in the friend zone and said to him, "It seems other people's systems corrupted during the installation. What happens now I wonder."
Min Jae did not reply. *Indeed what happens now? His system is also saying it's corrupted.* Min Jae suddenly became a little uneasy. What is happening?
Suddenly, there was a scream, then two. The guy asking others of their systems dropped to the ground clutching his stomach and screaming in pain. His voice getting horser and horser.
"Hey." Min Jae began. "You say this is just like in the web novels right? This guy here said his system is corrupt, if this is indeed like the webnovels and games I know, then something bad should follow right? Like monsters and dungeons?"
The nerdy guy looked at Min Jae, "Hehe, so you know about the world of web novels huh? Yes, you are right, usually something bad would follow right about now. If his system is corrupt... worst case scenario he goes berserk and attacks all of us."
Two other women in the train were also on their knees in pain. Their skin color started to change. Their flesh became scaly and little hairs started growing. Each passing moment they seemed less and less human, growing each second by size.
"He seems to be turning into some kind of beast." The nerdy guy said.
*Yes I can see that, furthermore mine says it's corrupt but I'm not down on my knees.* He said. Backing off from the man's vicinity so did other people.
Each moment, what they were looking at was no longer human. The train started to slow down. At this point people were panicking and were praying to get off the train.
The man and the two women, well at least they were five minutes ago screached. And finally they stood up, their figures tall, heads reaching the ceiling of the train. They reveled their new full forms to everyone. They screached once again.
"This is bad!!" Min Jae exclaimed.
These things were not human but pure monsters. The monster shot a bit needle similar to that of a porcupine towards an old man.
Silence.
The man fell, a pool of blood immediately forming.
Screams, "Ahhhh."
Min Jae watched all this happen, this was bad. The monster then looked directly at him, "Ahh Fuck."
