Chapter 1 - The System Has Arrived

The Empire's Fundamental Lawdecreed that the right to choose of adult citizens was inviolable—parents held no authority to interfere. This was no mere human rights statement; it was a mechanism to ensure every "cog" in society could swiftly detach from their birth family and merge into the grand machine of progress. After the college entrance exam, parental responsibility expired. That was why his parents only offered guidance, never coercion. Zane sighed. "I'll think about it," he said. His parents were right. If he failed to rise to a full Martial Artist—remaining merely a probationary one—he'd be little better than an ordinary person. Worse, even. Without admission to a public university, a private degree meant no government placement. No connections? He'd be stuck in corporate roles: security guards, couriers, food delivery—the most common paths. That night, Zane lay in bed, staring at the virtual night sky beyond his window. Should I accept this mediocrity? Or gamble on nearly a million credits in debt? Earlier that day, Zane had stood in his homeroom teacher's office, listening to the verdict: "Zane, your comprehensive college entrance evaluation is ready. Genetic Potential: 5%! Mental Score: 59. Physical Score: 50. Result: Fail. You do not meet the admission threshold—7% genetic potential—for the Public Martial Arts University of the Taurus-0755 Star System." "The Graduation Pathway Actgives you two choices: One, apply to a private university at your own cost. Two, accept immediate graduation placement arranged by the Taurus Star System government. Take time to decide—discuss it with your family." Zane exited the office, shoulders slumped. Five percent genetic potential. Far below the 7% cutoff. In the end, he was just ordinary. He'd thought transmigrating to this interstellar era of martial prowess would let him forge a warrior's destiny. But with his lackluster talent, he'd failed the exam. In this world, failure meant being shut out of formal martial arts—unless he paid for private school. Problem was, his family couldn't afford it. He'd once dreamed of this era: a galaxy where martial arts reigned, where he might train, enter a public university, and rise to become a full Martial Artist. Then, perhaps, join interstellar pioneer teams as a settler. The Taurus-0755 Star System itself had been a barren rock 500 years ago—its first settlers, even low-rank Martial Artists, now ruled regions like feudal lords, their names etched into the star system's history. Zane had hoped to follow that path. Even if it meant taking loans for private school, he'd intended to try. The Galactic Empire encouraged debt for such ambitions. Back home, his father exhaled wearily. "We… can't scrape together the funds. Your three younger siblings still need schooling." Zane protested, "But high school is free for them…" His mother cut him off. "Zane, placement isn't so bad. Look at your second and fourth brothers—they took placement after high school. The government matched them with partners, and now each has three kids. Their monthly child-rearing allowancesexceed their salaries. They're stable." Zane stayed silent. His brothers' lives werestable: farm managers, operating machinery to tend crops in this grain district. For most commoners, it was the only path. But he refused to resign himself to it—to farm, marry, pop out kids, collect allowances, and repeat until death. Weren't his parents living proof? They'd birthed ten children and were still going. He was the seventh. That night, staring at the virtual stars, Zane weighed his options: safety or debt. Then—the voice. *[Host has reached 18 years of age. Binding "Blessed with Many Children" System!] [Binding successful!] [The more you reproduce, the stronger your bloodline!] [Descendant quantity and quality will directly enhance the host!]*** Zane's eyes widened. No way… After 18 years of singleness… the system's finally here?!
