The city lights blurred in the heavy downpour. Shen Yu stood beneath the Storm, hands in his pockets, black coat plastered against his frame. His presence alone made the street feel darker- sharp eyes, unreasonable expression, the aura of a man people dared not cross.
Li ye had not expected to meet him here. He had only come to collect something from a friend, yet fate or maybe bad luck-placed him in Shen Yu's path.
"Hey", The deep, commanding voice stopped Liye mid-step. Shen Yu's gaze cut into him like steel.
"You. Run this package across town. Now".
It wasn't a request. It was an order.
Liye blinked, caught off guard by the sheer audacity. He tilted his head, rain dripping from his dark lashes, lips curling into a faint smirk. "Do
I' look like your errand boy?"
Shen Yu's jaw tightened. People didn't refuse him. Ever. His men in the shadows tensed, waiting for his signals. But Shen Yu raised a hand- curious instead of angry. " You don't know who I am do you?"
"No", Liye said plainly, his voice steady despite the thunder rolling above. "And I don't care".
The silence between them thickened. Rain hammered the pavement, but neither moved. Liye's charm shone even through his defiance-cold, beautiful, untouchable . Shen Yu, for the first time years, felt something unexpected: irritation tangled with intriqe.
"You'll regret that," Shen Yu said finally, his words sharp as a knife.
Li ye stepped closer, so close their eyes locked, Storm meeting Storm. "Maybe I will. Or maybe..." His lips curved into something dangerous, almost playful." ...I'll make you regret underestimating me."
It was then, in that changed moment, that Liye decided.
If Shen Yu wanted to play the enemy-fine. But Liye would fight fire with fire. He would make Shen Yu fall. Not with guns. Not with blood. But with something far crueler.
"Love ".
As lightening split the sky. Liye's gaze lingered on Shen Yu's sharp features, his cool commanding presence. And beneath the cold rain, Liye whispered to himself, almost smiling-
"I'll make you mine... and then I'll break you."
Shen Yu, unware of the trap being set, only smirked faintly in return. For him, this was the beginning of control. For Liye, it was the beginning of the revenge.
And neither of them know yet -
this storm was only the start.
