Chapter 23 - ch 23

Lines, crisscrossing like graffiti, and points forming those lines, appeared on the surface of various objects in the room.

The rafters, the carpet, the chair, the metal cup, and even the Moon in front of him...

Hiyama understood that what he was seeing were the "Lines of Death" and "Points of Death" of things.

No matter how hard an object was, it could be effortlessly cut along the Lines of Death. Even if the main body was still active, the part where the Lines of Death were cut would necrotize and could not be restored.

If he stabbed a Point of Death, the entire individual would completely stop moving, meaning its existence would be annihilated, and its life terminated.

There was almost no way to defend against this process.

Because the Direct Death Magic Eye was a causality weapon.

Hiyama then took out a long sword from his magic space and lightly swung it at a chair not far away. The blade did not touch the chair, yet this wooden chair was cut into two halves.

If he wished, he could even directly erase the existence of this chair!

"Hoo."

Hiyama blinked, and his pupils returned to their normal color.

An inexplicable sense of loss welled up in his heart; it was the mental gap caused by falling from a god to a human in an instant.

This was a psychological illusion, and Hiyama quickly adjusted to it.

However, it also proved how terrifying this ability was. When he activated the Direct Death Magic Eye, Hiyama felt as if he had suddenly become a god.

Everything he saw could be erased. If that wasn't a god, what was?

"Master, are you really alright?" Yue looked at him worriedly.

"Me? Of course I'm alright."

Hiyama rubbed her golden hair, and Yue happily squinted her eyes, just like a small cat.

"Oh, right, this magic circle can teach Divine Era Magic. You should also stand on it and give it a try." Hiyama pulled Yue onto the magic circle.

The magic circle left behind by these traitors could be reused, provided you could navigate the labyrinth to get here.

"Congratulations on passing the trial and arriving here. My name is Oscar (abbreviated)..."

Oscar appeared again. Hiyama and Yue ignored Oscar, who was rambling the same words, and continued their conversation.

"Creation Magic... How exactly should this magic be used?"

Yue asked, puzzled.

Her head tilt looked somewhat cute.

"Hmm... Simply put, it allows you to imbue minerals with magic, transforming them while also creating minerals with special properties."

"???"

Yue was even more confused.

She had an expression that clearly said, "Master, what on earth are you talking about?"

"It's alright if you don't understand." Hiyama smiled nonchalantly.

This Creation Magic was actually a higher-tier version of Nagumo Hajime's "Alchemy Magic." Using it allowed him to create various powerful alchemical products.

After a while, Yue also successfully acquired Divine Era Magic, but judging by her expression, she would never use it.

"Let's rest here for a while. As for this corpse..."

Hiyama thought for a moment.

When he initially chose from the system, the first two options mentioned using this corpse, but since he chose the third option, he had no use for it.

"Bury it."

"I think we could use it as fertilizer."

"...You're ruthless."

Chapter 32: Who is that!

In the end, Oscar's corpse was not used as fertilizer. He was buried by the farmland, and a simple tombstone was erected for him.

Hiyama also gladly accepted the ring on Oscar's corpse's hand.

This ring was not only a spatial ring but also a very important item.

Hiyama used the ring to open the two locked rooms on the second floor.

After opening one of the rooms, he found a blueprint inside that detailed how to activate the teleportation magic. The activation key was that very ring.

Evening

"What should we do after we get out?"

Yue sat on the edge of the bathtub, soaking her two fair feet in the water.

Yue had tied up her hair, revealing her fair nape. She looked exceptionally beautiful today.

The two of them were currently in the bathhouse.

"Hmm... I'm going to clear the remaining six labyrinths next." Hiyama comfortably stretched his body, looking at the bright moonlight above his head.

"Of course, you'll come along too," he added.

"Mm! As long as I'm with Darling, it doesn't matter where we are!" Yue said happily upon hearing this.

"Speaking of which, you can probably change that address now."

"Huh?"

"I mean 'Master'," Hiyama said.

He hadn't thought much about it when they first met, but now he realized that this address was somewhat inappropriate.

Having a loli who looked only thirteen or fourteen call him "Master" was a bit perverted, even if this loli was actually at least three hundred years old.

"I don't think there's any problem, Darling is Darling," Yue said earnestly.

"No, you must change the address."

"That's an order."

Hiyama said decisively.

"Ugh... If it's an order, then there's nothing I can do."

"Then I'll call you..." Yue suddenly blushed, thinking of something.

"Then I'll call you Darling."

Her voice was soft but full of enthusiasm.

"Darling? There's no such word in this world's language, is there!?" Hiyama was somewhat astonished.

This was clearly an English word from his own world.

"Ugh... In our country, there is such a word. It's just a rather common address...."

Yue waved her hands hurriedly, explaining.

You're too easy to read. Hiyama instantly knew she was lying.

"Alright... Since I brought it up, it's up to you." Hiyama sighed lightly.

"Really!?"

"I love you the most, Darling!"

Splash!

"Hey, don't just suddenly jump in!"

"Guhehehe~" The golden-haired, red-eyed Vampire Princess let out a bell-like laugh that echoed far into the night sky.

.....

A month passed.

During this time, Hiyama, having obtained "Creation Magic," naturally wouldn't easily let go of this new toy.

He spent day and night in the workshop, trying to create various tools and alchemical products.

The ring Oscar left behind was a spatial ring, and its internal space was no smaller than the spatial ring he got from the system treasure chest.

Most importantly, it was filled with various rare minerals and monster materials.

This gave Hiyama a huge scope for his creativity.

This day

Yue ran to the workshop as usual.

During this period, Hiyama had been holed up in Oscar's workshop, out of sight, barely seen except for meals.

Yue was bored to death.

Although she ran to the workshop every day, most of the time Hiyama wouldn't let her in.

But today seemed different.

The workshop door was rarely ajar. Yue pushed the door open, and a strong smell of saltpeter wafted out. The furnace rumbled, still spewing fire inside.

"Darling~ Are you there?"

She looked around but didn't see Hiyama.

"What are these?"

On the table lay two oddly shaped steel tools, one black and one white.

They had streamlined appearances, adorned with intricate and complex patterns, beautiful like perfect works of art.

But Yue keenly sensed the killing intent contained within them.

Could they be weapons!

She couldn't help but think.

"Is that Yue? I'm downstairs." Hiyama's voice came from the workshop's basement.

Yue quickly left the two very eye-catching creations and walked down the dim basement stairs.

Finally, she saw Hiyama.

He was... fiddling with something on a girl!

!?

Yue immediately became alert, running to Hiyama's side in three steps.

"This... How can there be a girl here!" She urgently grabbed Hiyama's hand, as if asserting her claim.

"Look closely."

Hiyama smiled proudly.

Yue's reaction proved that he had succeeded halfway.

"This...." Yue's red eyes widened.

Upon closer inspection, she saw many complex and intricate patterns on this "girl," and there were even some gaps in the joints!

"This is a Magic Puppet!"

Yue exclaimed in surprise.

She had only heard of the existence of such top-tier alchemical creations in legends, but she never expected to see a real Magic Puppet here!

"That's right, this is my strongest work I can currently present—a top-tier Magic Puppet!"

Hiyama admired the Magic Puppet he had tirelessly created during this time, his heart filled with a sense of accomplishment.

Thanks to the astonishing number of alchemy books Oscar left behind, he was able to complete this work in such a short time.

This Magic Puppet had neat silver short hair, a tall figure, and cold eyes.
