Chapter 85 - Chapter 85 Can Your Little Person Sing?

Five tiny, snow-white figures, waving their hands, danced in a small circle around a table, as if around a campfire, instantly drawing everyone's attention. To ordinary people, this scene naturally seemed quite magical.

On the continent, the reason why humans were able to occupy a place was not only because of the knights who fought bloody battles, but also because of the powerful mages who were feared by all races. In the racial wars of the past, they often became the stroke of genius that turned the tide of battle.

After the war, the royal family of the Los Empire elevated mages to a higher status, establishing mage towers and bestowing upon powerful mages the title of revered figures, granting them a transcendent position within the empire.

Therefore, humans held mages in great awe. Although Chaos City was not under the jurisdiction of the Los Empire, humanity's position within Chaos City was maintained by the power of the Los Empire.

Seeing Crassus, dressed in a mage's robe, demonstrating magic, the guests felt a certain respect and couldn't help but look at Amy. Even they found such wondrous magic interesting, a little girl like Amy would surely like it even more.

"But, can your little snowman sing?" Amy asked, looking at the dancing snowman on the table with little curiosity, shrugging her little shoulders.

The Ugly Duckling peeked out, then quickly withdrew its head, its little eyes full of disdain.

"Si…sing?" Crassus paused, looking at the dancing snowman in front him. Performing some difficult moves was no problem, but singing was a different story. After all, he'd been beaten several times by his master for not reciting magic spells clearly back then. He chuckled and shook his head, saying, "Little girl, a little person created by magic can't sing."

The guests were also somewhat surprised. They hadn't expected that a dancing little person wasn't enough to satisfy Amy, asking for singing seemed a bit excessive. Even the old mage had said that a created little person couldn't sing.

"But my little person can sing! And your little person is too ugly." Amy shook her head, looking at the snowman in front Crassus with a hint of disdain.

"A singing and dancing little person? Impossible, doesn't exist, there isn't one." Crassus shook his head, not believing Amy's words.

The guests also looked skeptical. Unless it was a race of little people that had never appeared on the continent, how could there be little people who could both sing and dance?

In the kitchen, Mai Ge's lips curled slightly. He was quite satisfied with the effect of his anti-fraud lesson at noon. Now, watching his daughter prepare to show off her new toy, he found it even more amusing.

"Alright, since you don't believe me, I'll have to show you. It's the little singing person Daddy conjured up for me." Amy said with a helpless expression, bending down to take the music box from the cabinet and gently placing it on the counter.

Everyone curiously peered over, their eyes lighting up as they landed on the music box.

"So beautiful!" a girl sitting not far from the counter couldn't help but exclaim softly, her mouth slightly agape. The exquisite wooden box had a spherical transparent crystal, and within that crystal was a beautiful fairy holding a small musical instrument—so delicate and beautiful, it was impossible to look away.

"Wow…" The other customers had similar expressions. Although what was presented wasn't something glittering gold, the pure, flawless hemispherical transparent crystal cover alone was enough to amaze them.

And Mai Ge had actually made it into a beautiful toy for Amy to play with, this level of pampering was probably beyond their wildest imaginations.

Looking at the dancing snowmen in front of Crassus, they seemed rather shabby compared to the elf in the purple dress inside the crystal, and their originally cute dance became somewhat comical.

"This isn't something that's conjured up!" Crassus glanced at the music box and immediately realized that there was no magical fluctuation on it. It seemed that Mai Ge had deliberately tricked Amy again. However, he didn't expose him. Mai Ge's behavior didn't offend him. It was indeed not easy for a man to raise a young daughter alone.

"But can it really sing?" Crassus asked with some skepticism. Since there were no magical fluctuations, the little elf figure that was clearly a puppet couldn't possibly dance, let alone sing.

The guests also watched curiously. The object's appearance was stunning, but Amy had just said her little figure could sing, they wondered if it was true.

"Sing? Of course it can." Amy pressed a switch on the side of the music box.

"The little girl picking mushrooms…" The seven-colored light around the edge brightened, and a melodious song began to play. The elf girl inside also started moving, playing her instrument and twirling around, looking incredibly lifelike, almost like a real little person.

"How…how is this possible!" Crassus stared wide-eyed at the singing elf. Although he could sense a slight energy fluctuation, it was definitely not magic. But if it wasn't magic, how could this puppet figure sing and dance?

Moreover, he had just vehemently denied it three times, but now Amy's little figure not only sings, but sings beautifully, with an ethereal voice, just like a real elf singing joyfully. His expression suddenly became somewhat awkward.

Having lived to be so old, he rarely expressed his opinions on things after turning one hundred. He never expected to suffer such a setback at the hands of a young girl today.

If it wasn't for his advanced age giving him a thicker skin, he would probably want to take off his mage robe and crawl into a hole right now. He was so embarrassed. He slowly lowered his eyes, hoping that this incident would pass peacefully. He thought the guests present wouldn't make an old man like him lose face too much.

"It really can sing, and it sings so well! But is it a children's song? Why have I never heard it before?" The girl nearby listened to the song, a mixture of surprise and confusion.

The voice was ethereal and beautiful, and the lyrics taught children diligence and sharing. It should be the kind of children's song that's easy to sing along to, but she had never heard it before—it was so strange.

"Grandpa White Beard, look! The Mushroom Little Elf can sing and dance. Isn't your little snowman not fun at all?" Amy reached out and turned off the music, looking at Crassus earnestly.

The guests, hearing Amy's words, looked at Crassus with somewhat strange expressions.

It wasn't good to make fun of an old mage, but seeing him try to show off his skills to impress Amy, only to be completely outshone by what Amy brought out, they couldn't help but smile. Now, being questioned by the little girl, they wondered how he would handle the situation.
