Chapter 59 - Chapter 59 Meow Meow Meow Meow ~

The thirty odd Rou Jia Mo sold out quickly at noon. Many customers, tempted by the aroma of the meat, asked Mai Ge to make a few more.

There was nothing Mai Ge could do about it. He had prepared so many ingredients that it was first-come, first-served. Making a Rou Jia Mo required two hours of preparation in advance, including kneading the dough and making the braised meat, which took time, unlike Yang Zhou Fried Rice which could be made fresh to order.

The customers were also very interested in the delicate little bags that came with the Rou Jia Mo, and some even said they wanted to take it home as a small purse. In particular, the back view drawn on it was very cute, and Amy was overjoyed by the constant praise.

Even more customers came in the evening after hearing the news. The Yang Zhou Fried Rice and Rou Jia Mo drove the customers crazy. This unique cooking method and the addictive taste completely subverted their imagination of food.

Although the food here is somewhat expensive, but there is no shortage of wealthy people in this Chaos City. Spending a few gold coins to satisfy their cravings is not a difficult thing for them.

"Sorry, the new items we're testing today are sold out. We'll officially start selling them tomorrow. However, due to the need for advance preparation, the quantity available for each meal is limited. Please come earlier tomorrow." Mai Ge smiled as he saw the last customer out, flipped the sign on the door, and breathed a sigh of relief. Although he had eaten Yang Zhou Fried Rice and Rou Jia Mo, he was still a little tired after a long day.

Today's trial sale of over ninety Rou Jia Mo sold out completely. Because making the Rou Jia Mo took some time, they sold a little less Yang Zhou Fried Rice than before, only about fifty servings, resulting in a net income of over 360 gold coins.

Tomorrow he'll get up early and knead the dough more, trying to make more Rou Jia Mo. Unlocking the tofu pudding depends on these thousand Rou Jia Mo.

Now that he's the restaurant owner, he's decided to retire from the world and no longer participate in the two-party struggle.

However, he was somewhat curious whether this world would also have a savory faction and a sweet faction. If they got along harmoniously, that would be fine, but if they were like in his previous life, constantly drawing their swords, they might as well set up a fighting arena at the entrance of the restaurant, with a sign that read "Sweet vs. Savory Showdown" and there would probably be people dueling on stage everyday.

"Daddy must be very tired, let me massage your shoulders." Amy said, holding the Ugly Duckling in her arms, interrupting Mai Ge's thoughts.

"Meow Meow~~" The Ugly Duckling meowed twice, as if agreeing with Amy.

Mai Ge looked at the two adorable little ones, reached out and patted Amy's head, shaking his head with a smile, "It's alright, Daddy isn't tired. Little Amy, sit here for a while. If you're sleepy, go upstairs to wash up and go to bed."

"No, I want to wait for Daddy to go to bed together tonight." Amy shook her head, then patted Ugly Duckling's head again, saying, "Don't you think so, Ugly Duckling?"

"Meow." Ugly Duckling opened its mouth and yawned. Although it nodded, its reluctance was clearly written on its face.

"Okay, I'll speed things up then." Mai Ge smiled and nodded, starting to clear the dishes, wipe the table, and finally mop the floor. Half an hour passed before he finished.

Amy, sitting on a high stool, was half-asleep on the counter, while the Ugly Duckling in her arms was already fast asleep.

"Put the Ugly Duckling in the basket to sleep, and then we'll go upstairs to sleep too." Mai Ge said softly, untying his apron and hanging it aside. He dried his hands, walked over, and stroked Amy's hair.

"Okay." Amy nodded.

"Meow~" The Ugly Duckling seemed to hear Mai Ge's words. It woke up, looked up at him with a slightly resentful expression, then reached out its pink little paws to grab Amy's dress, shaking its head, seemingly unwilling to get down from her arms.

"Ugly Duckling, no way. Daddy said you have to sleep downstairs." Amy shook her head, got up, picked it up, and said as she stepped off the high stool, "Besides, you're so ugly, what if you scare me when you wake up at night? I might kick you off the bed."

Mai Ge couldn't help but laugh. It seemed Amy had no need for him to teach her sharp tongue; her talent was already maxed out.

"Meow meow!" The Ugly Duckling opened its mouth, trying to act cute to prove it wasn't so ugly, but Amy simply stuffed it into the little basket and wrapped it in a small blanket.

Amy stood up, waved her hand, and said, "Ugly Duckling, you have to sleep well, okay? If you behave well, I'll take you to play again tomorrow morning." Then she took Mai Ge's hand and prepared to go upstairs.

"Meow meow meow meow~~" The Ugly Duckling suddenly popped out from under the blanket, its paws resting on the edge of the basket, looking at Amy's back with pitiful meows, like an abandoned kitten.

"Daddy, the Ugly Duckling seems very scared. Can we take it upstairs? I'll try my best not to kick it off the bed." Amy stopped, glanced back at the Ugly Duckling who looked like it was about to cry, and looked up at Mai Ge to ask.

Mai Ge looked at the pitiful Ugly Duckling, and then at Amy, who was full of expectation. The two little ones acting cute together was a double whammy; there was no way to resist. What could he do but nod and say, "Alright, then we'll take it upstairs."

"Okay." Amy smiled happily, but the smile faded as she turned away. She squatted down with a helpless expression, picked up the ugly duckling from the basket, and sighed, "I just can't do anything with you. But you'll have to cover your face tonight, so don't scare me, okay?"

"Meow meow." The ugly duckling meowed happily twice, found a comfortable position in Amy's arms, rubbed its little head against hers, and closed its eyes contentedly.

Upstairs, Amy placed the sleeping ugly duckling beside the crib, carefully resting its little head on the pillow, before following Mai Ge to wash up.

Mai Ge gave Amy a bath, bought her a cute blue purple pajama from the system, dried her hair, and carried her to the crib.

As soon as Amy lay down, the ugly duckling stretched out its little paws and hugged her arm, its little head nuzzling against hers.

"So heavy." Amy shoved it aside without giving it any face, yawned, and looked at Mai Ge whispering, "Goodnight, Daddy…"

"Goodnight." Mai Ge smiled and reached out to stroke Amy's hair. The little one closed her eyes and fell asleep.

The Ugly Duckling, who had been moved aside, slumped back sleepily, still wanting to hold her hand and snuggle its little face against her as it slept.

"What a clingy little thing." Mai Ge chuckled, shaking his head. He tucked the two little ones in, turned off the light, grabbed his pajamas, and tiptoed out to shower and wash up.

"System, I think our restaurant needs a dish that can really command attention, right? Whether it's Yang Zhou Fried Rice or Rou Jia Mo, it still lacks the feel of a main course." After taking a shower and lying relaxed on the bed, Mai Ge asked in his mind.
