Chapter 101 - Chapter 101 Hahaha! You have come to this day! I will let you post beautiful girls!

Just like that, a few more months passed.

Gwen had expected something to happen during this time.

But nothing did.

Either an event related to Wonder Woman would begin, or they would have to face a full-scale assault from the Court of Owls.

Yet, nothing happened.

Gwen also tried to find a woman named Diana Prince through the then-undeveloped internet, but to no avail.

In every aspect.

To facilitate her 'fishing' expedition, Gwen chose a location conducive to an ambush when searching.

After all, according to Leonia, it could be concluded that Wonder Woman participated in U.S. foreign wars when she debuted.

The only conflicts that fit were World War I and World War II.

Based on her stereotype of the U.S. Military, Gwen believed they would try every possible means to keep information about the Amazons—who were demigods and like meat grinders on the battlefield—a secret.

She figured if they weren't afraid Wonder Woman wouldn't cooperate, they would have just painted a five-pointed star on Diana's shield and claimed she was a super-soldier experimented on by the U.S. Military, pointing out that her battle suit's colors matched the U.S. flag.

What? You ask what she would be called?

The amazing... Captain America.

And her blatant search for information about Diana Prince could very well lure out either the U.S. Military or Wonder Woman herself.

This was Gwen's thought, but unfortunately, what she anticipated did not occur.

She had people stake out for more than half a year, but found nothing.

Left with no choice, Gwen and the Plumbers had to give up.

Time flew like an arrow, days and months like a shuttle.

Though it sounds a bit absurd, just like that, eight years passed without a hitch.

Yes, nothing particularly special happened in those eight years.

Although the heroic Police Harvey Bullock successfully ascended to Director, Gotham's crime rate remained stubbornly high.

However, with the Director and Deputy Director secretly working together, the number of Police officers dedicated to justice gradually increased, subtly.

Aside from other things, at least their true benefactors' mission was accomplished.

While petty crimes were curbed, the real dark forces still conducted their deals and purged their ranks as they pleased.

There was nothing they could do; the Gotham Police Department's biggest backer on the surface was still the Falcone Family.

Being able to curb some robberies and thefts already showed that Harvey and Gordon played an absolute role.

However, while the Police didn't dare to manage the gangs, someone else did!

Gotham now had a group of madmen.

Because of these madmen, everyone had to be careful when committing crimes.

If one was unlucky, a few individuals in full White battle armor with a purple hourglass symbol on their chests would appear at the street corner, rushing over to engage in 'black-on-black' crime against everyone present.

These guys were incredibly brutal; even if you had gold teeth, they would forcibly pry them out.

There were even a few times when these guys forced the Falcone Family and the Maroni Family to unite and set a trap, just to capture this group of unscrupulous individuals in one fell swoop.

But unfortunately, that became the Falcone Family and the Maroni Family's biggest loss.

Those guys weren't human at all, or rather, their full-body battle armor was no ordinary thing.

The firearms in the hands of the gangs simply couldn't harm them.

Large explosive weapons couldn't be used at all due to the close proximity.

The outcome of the battle was self-evident.

They couldn't be caught, couldn't be defeated; the gang families felt like they were facing a group of ruffians... Gotham High School, on the way home from school.

Sixteen-year-old Gwen, carrying a small briefcase, walked steadily on her way home from school.

Although she just walked quietly, she was particularly eye-catching in the crowd.

The wind gently blew, rustling Gwen's braid that hung over her shoulder, her red hair like a dancing flame in the dim sky.

Because she had watched "Comprehensive Evolution," she was always worried about getting freckles, so she meticulously cared for her skin.

Thanks to her persistent daily care, her fair skin was flawless, without any freckles.

Black-rimmed glasses rested on her delicate nose, an outfit that should have seemed ordinary, but her naturally mature demeanor made her stand out among the high school students.

On the surface, she was a sixteen-year-old girl, but in reality, she was a middle-aged person in her forties.

Gwen took small steps towards the luxurious car at the school gate, and just as she reached out to open the car door, a slightly flustered figure suddenly blocked her path.

Looking up, it was a boy also wearing a school uniform.

His earlobes were red, fine beads of sweat dotted his forehead, and his fingers continuously twisted the hem of his clothes as he stammered, "G-Gwen President, I-I have something to say to you..."

Gwen raised an eyebrow slightly, taking half a step back to create distance, her peripheral vision catching a few scattered classmates pausing to watch.

The boy took a deep breath, his Adam's apple bobbing violently: "I, I li..." Before he could finish, a Shadow suddenly crashed into him from the side.

A girl with long black hair seemed to have no intention of slowing down, her shoulder heavily striking the boy.

"Don't block the way."

Her expression was cold, her eyes aloof, and her long, ink-like hair was casually draped over her shoulders.

After coldly uttering this sentence, she continued to walk out expressionlessly.

The girl looked slender, but the force of her collision was astonishingly strong.

The boy, unprepared, stumbled backward, falling to the ground with a "thud," his school uniform covered in dust.

He stared blankly at the girl's receding back, his face filled with grievance and surprise.

Seeing this, Gwen quickly knelt down and gently comforted him, "Are you okay? Get up quickly."

After the boy sat up, she looked directly into his eyes, her tone sincere but firm: "I'm sorry, I cannot accept your feelings."

After speaking, she disregarded the boy's disappointed expression, her gaze fixed on the figure of the black-haired girl, and she set off in pursuit of the direction the girl had left.

The girl's walking speed wasn't fast to begin with, and Gwen quickly caught up.

Once Gwen caught up, the girl's walking speed actually increased.

"Little Brucey! Wait!"

The girl, called Little Brucey, didn't speak, just walked silently forward.

Seeing that she couldn't call her back, Gwen leaped and hung onto her.

"Let go, you're heavy."

Gwen smiled, leaned close to her ear, and said gently, "Why are you running so fast? Is it because of what happened just now, making my cute, beautiful, smart, gentle Little Brucey angry?"

She deliberately elongated the end of her words, blinking like she was coaxing a sulking younger sister.

Brucey's earlobe felt the warm breath, and her whole body stiffened abruptly, then she took a deep breath and mumbled softly, "Boring."

After speaking, she continued to walk forward as if she didn't feel someone hanging on her.

"Are you really not angry? Little Brucey is so good, she's actually willing to carry her older sister home."

"Be normal."
