The metallic tang of blood hung in the air whilst Lesley's quiet sobs kept echoing off the walls like ghost whispers.
Maddox and Trent were too busy gloating to notice the tiny flicker in my tooth — the silent pulse of the tracker activating and blinking invisible beneath the dim light.
Good, my men were already en route. And soon I'll show Maddox how it's really done. But first, I need to buy time.
Right on cue, Maddox leaned closer, his grin twisted with victory. "What's wrong, Sinclair? Lost your bark? Or you've just accepted your defeat?"
Good job, this was easier than I thought, now all that I have to do is to make sure this conversation never ends until my men get here.
