Chapter 314 — Percy's Compliment!
They chatted and laughed all the way back.
Harry even treated everyone to cake.
He wasn't splurging, but he wasn't stingy either.
This made Darren feel a little sorry for him, because soon Harry would be tricked into losing those Galleons again.
And then Harry would "return to being a millionaire" with only 500,000 Galleons.
Even then, Harry was far from poor.
He was still much richer than Darren ever was in his previous life.
Darren sighed.
Then he buried himself in the food. It tasted amazing.
I'll definitely sneak some back to eat later.
When they returned to the Leaky Cauldron, the Weasleys were already there.
Mr. Weasley was reading the newspaper.
They had won 500 Galleons, so with the school year approaching, they were staying at the Leaky Cauldron for now.
As Darren approached, he saw Mr. Weasley reading the page with Black's face on it.
Black's roaring, dog-like face glared up at him.
"He still hasn't been caught?" Harry asked with interest.
Darren tilted his head. "I remember the teacher saying that my brother wasn't investigated this time because that man escaped."
That was why the Ministry didn't pursue the issue of the older brother's underage magic.
"He hasn't been caught. He's a notorious fugitive, and tracking him is as hard as capturing the Death Eaters."
Mr. Weasley said this with a serious expression.
Then he looked at Darren and sighed heavily.
"I'm sorry, Darren. We still haven't caught those Death Eaters. They've been running for almost a year now…"
"Sir, please don't apologize to me. I've already forgotten about that incident. I'm not afraid of them at all. I just…"

Darren accepted the points and smiled shyly.
Mr. Weasley sighed again.
He remembered the day Darren had first come to the Ministry.
The boy hadn't even entered the trial hall yet, and his eyes were already red upon seeing him.
He had instantly understood how much the child had suffered—inhumane torture, fear, and pain. And when Darren saw the commemorative sphere, he had nearly broken down.
Sometimes Mr. Weasley still searched for traces of the Death Eaters on his own.
"Molly says that if she ever caught those people, she'd strangle them herself… Oh—sorry, Darren. Of course she can't, she's just furious."
He added this quickly.
"Sir, you and Mrs. Weasley are ordinary wizards. You must stay far away from them. They're very dangerous."
Darren said this with real concern.
"You say that, but I didn't see a trace of fear in you when you looked at the sphere!" Mr. Weasley said emotionally.
"All I saw was you standing foolishly in front of those people and getting injured again and again… I cried for a long time that day."
"If Lily knew how badly you were hurt, she'd be even angrier than I am!"
Mrs. Weasley's voice came from behind. She had just returned.
Darren lowered his head in embarrassment.
Then he lifted it again, eyes bright with expectation.
"If… if my mum were still here, would she really like me?
I mean—she's never seen me, and I've grown so much, I…"

He got the points before he could finish the sentence.
Mrs. Weasley's eyes reddened immediately.
She hugged him tightly.
"Poor child… your mother would be so proud of you."
Even though she never saw you, she loved you.
Every mother loves her child.
And look at you—you excel in your studies, you're kind, and you're so lovable.
It's just… if you could be a little less kind, maybe you'd be safer.
She laughed helplessly at herself.
This child would never change.
And she couldn't bear to say anything harsh.
"Oh, I love you!"
"I love you too, Mrs. Weasley. In my heart, you're just like my mother."
You've treated my brother and me so well. We love you and Mr. Weasley the most.

"Oh? So little Darren only likes Mum and not us?"
"Of course! We're just the annoying ones nobody likes!"
Fred and George teased loudly.
But when they saw Darren's panicked expression as he tried to explain, they instantly regretted it.
"Fred, you said it first! You know he'll take it seriously!"
"You're the one who scared him! Mum's going to punish you!"
They started pointing fingers at one another.
Mrs. Weasley gave them a stern look.
"It's good you know it, but stop bullying Darren! He's still a child!"
Darren laughed softly.
With a saintly smile, he said, "Ma'am, it's fine. I like them very much. Fred and George take great care of us at school. And Percy too!"
Darren glanced at Percy.
Percy immediately straightened like a soldier.
He walked over with the posture of a Ministry official and declared solemnly:
"It is an honor to meet you, Mr. Darren potter Flamel, Recipient of the Order of Merlin, and currently the most admired young wizard at Hogwarts!"
Hmm.
Not bad!
Though he didn't pronounce my name fully correct.
Foreigners always add their father's name in the middle.
His full name must be incredibly long by now.
Darren barely held back his laughter.
He didn't forget Percy either.
Percy was wearing the Gryffindor Prefect badge proudly.
He adjusted his collar, straightened his sleeves, and bowed elegantly.
"Thank you for your compliment, Mr. Percy Weasley—current Gryffindor prefect and future Ministry official."
Congratulations on your major milestone.
Percy's eyes widened.
He loved this style.
So dramatic. So dignified. So refreshing.
"Oh, Darren, you've boosted his ego. Any minute now his tail will hit the ceiling."
"Yes, he's been decorating our house all summer. I'm sick of seeing his face."
Fred and George pointed at him.
"Model boy!"
