Chapter 58 - Chapter 58 Invitation to Death

"M-monster?" Helanke and Roba looked incredulous. Although they had personally witnessed Iri's strength, was it really appropriate to use that word to describe such a cute little Iri-meimei?

"Iri… she's… not a qualified magic caster. The amount of magic she possesses is very low, but… she… she…" Arshe seemed to recall the scene she had just witnessed and quickly covered her mouth again.

Uncle Roba once again used magic on Arshe, and only then did Arshe not throw up again.

"You're saying Iri-meimei isn't a magic caster? But yesterday…" Helanke saw that Arshe was so scared by Iri that he decided not to hide Iri's profession anymore.

"Yesterday, we personally saw Iri-meimei use many spells we had never seen before." Roba also looked bewildered. Besides, if Iri wasn't a magic caster, why would Arshe be so terrified?

"Al…although her magic power is very low, but… she… she can use… magic beyond… my… understanding… no… beyond human understanding… Ugh…" Arshe threw up again.

...

Saying it was for replenishment 'medicine' was false; the truth was to have Imina explain Miss Arshe's family situation to him.

Listening to Imina recount the affairs of Miss Arshe's family, such as being born into nobility, formerly being the Empire's imperial magic caster, and the most favored student of Fulda, the greatest magic caster among humans.

Then, she spoke of how she was demoted to a commoner due to the Blood Emperor's reforms and other such matters. In truth, Iri knew no less about Miss Arshe's situation than Imina did, but as an actress, she had to maintain basic professionalism, so throughout the entire conversation, Iri pretended to know nothing and listened to Imina's narration.

After circling the street for a while, they returned to the small tavern, only to find Helanke still there. Arshe and Uncle Roba were nowhere to be seen.

Helanke said that Uncle Roba had taken Arshe home, but what Iri found strange was that after walking around outside and hearing Miss Arshe's story, Helanke seemed a bit off. When he spoke to Iri, he seemed to be wary of her.

This strange feeling hadn't been there a moment ago, but it wasn't a big deal. For Iri, the most urgent task now was how to protect them.

Afterward, they disbanded and went home, saying they would depart tomorrow and that preparations should be made. Iri had nothing to prepare. For Iri, there was no reason to stay in the Empire, so Iri found an empty place, used a high-level teleportation scroll, and returned directly to Nazarick.

Currently, Nazarick was also preparing for this "invasion" event. Iri's idea at this time was to go back and ask Shizu for the exact location of the teleportation traps within Nazarick. Since she couldn't stop them from entering Nazarick, she would start with Nazarick itself.

After all, she would be accompanying them. Once she understood the destination of the teleportation traps, she would simply lead them to step on Hamutaro's trap. At least with her there, dealing with Hamutaro would be more than enough.

Then, after teaching Hamutaro a lesson, she would feign injury and have them retreat. Given how much the Four Strategists Squad valued their teammates, if a teammate was injured, they should prioritize their teammate and retreat!

After Iri left, the Four Strategists Squad gathered once again. Arshe and Roba hadn't actually gone back but were resting on the second floor of the tavern, as Arshe had been so frightened by Iri-meimei.

After Arshe calmed down, the four gathered again. This time, what they discussed was not about the strange commission, but about Iri.

"Is Iri-meimei really such a dangerous person?" Imina asked, surprised, after listening to Helanke's account.

This innocent and cute little Iri-meimei seemed to give off a very approachable vibe. After all, Imina was completely clueless about magic, so she had no concept of what Arshe was talking about.

"It's not that she's dangerous, at least… she hasn't shown hostility towards us, has she? But I think her motives seem a bit strange. For someone as powerful as her, why would she seek us out and want to join us?" Helanke expressed.

"Didn't she say she had a disagreement with her family and ran away? Look at her attire; she must be a young lady from somewhere, just like Arshe." Imina said.

"I'm… not a young lady anymore." Arshe hesitated before speaking.

"So the question now is, for the upcoming commission, should we really let Iri accompany us? It seems Iri-meimei has doubts about this commission." Roba said.

"Didn't she say she was willing to go with us? Besides… she's so powerful. With her there, isn't the success rate of the commission guaranteed?" Helanke expressed.

"Provided… she is our companion." Arshe's face was still not looking good.

After hearing Arshe's statement, everyone fell silent. After all, this strange Iri-meimei was only met yesterday, and no one could guarantee what kind of face was hidden beneath her seemingly innocent exterior.

"I think… since we've already allowed Iri-meimei to join our Four Strategists Squad, we should trust her. If she truly had ulterior motives against us, she wouldn't have questioned this commission. Moreover… someone of a completely different caliber than us wouldn't be seeking anything from us, would she?" Roba said.

"As expected of the good-natured Roba… Indeed, with her strength, if she wanted us dead, we probably would have all died yesterday. For Iri-meimei… there truly isn't any benefit for her to seek from us. So, my opinion is the same as Roba's." Helanke raised his hand and said.

"Since Helanke said so, I have no objection either." Imina also expressed agreement.

"Then…" Finally, Arshe also nodded.

...

At dawn, the Four Strategists Squad gathered again in the small tavern. Of course, Iri was also there.

Naturally, after a long night of bonding with Shizu, she had a general understanding of the preparations Nazarick was making for this "invasion."

The location of the teleportation traps was also fully understood, so that made things easier. Although it would be unfair to Hamutaro and the Lizardmen, to erase the only blemish on Father Ainz, Iri had no choice but to do this.

Afterward, Iri followed the Four Strategists Squad to the unfortunate noble's courtyard.

As in the original work, the Four Strategists were the last group to arrive. In the unfortunate noble's courtyard, several cannon fodder squads were already present.

Iri glanced around briefly. Basically, it was as described in the original work: the Heavenly Martial Squad from Theocracy that abused elves, the old man's squad, and the remaining one was the fat rhinoceros beetle squad.

It seems the storyline won't change because of Iri, the 'intruder.' But it doesn't matter; she already knows the script. Now it's up to Iri to see how she performs to change the storyline.
