Ling Shi'er took a sniff at his palms after he washed his hands and noticed the faint fragrance of flowers. Since he was young, he was raised with a mindset that a man shouldn't have anything to do with delicate things like flowers.
He always thought that he disliked fragrant water. Unexpectedly, after he smelled the flower scent, he didn't dislike it at all. Instead, he felt that it smelled nice.
Not knowing what he was thinking, Yao Zhi scooped a big bowl of steamed rice for him and said, "I cooked a lot, so eat to your fill."
Ling Shi'er looked at the white steamed rice and said, "Thank you, Master."
Yao Zhi nodded and scooped up two spoonfuls of mapo tofu for him and said, "You are welcome."
The two of them ate in silence and finished the meal in less than 20 minutes. After they were done, Ling Shi'er cleaned up the table and washed the dishes while Yao Zhi returned to her room.
