Chapter 12 - Rich People Can Feel Pity, but Poor Can't

The sun beat down on the pavement, turning every step into a small act of endurance. Alexandra shifted the melting ice cream from one hand to the other, taking a quick lick before it could drip down her wrist. The strawberry ice-cream tasted too sweet, just like the taste she had expected from it. The heat pressed against her like a physical weight, but she refused to let it ruin her mood.

 

She adjusted the sword strapped to her waist, feeling the amused glances of onlookers.

 

Let them stare. Who cared about their thoughts?

 

A woman could wear jeans, eat ice cream, and still carry a sword if she wanted to. The way she saw it, the blade was just another accessory — a sharp reminder that even in this 'modern' world, invested by javanjis, old habits die hard. She smiled at her own thought and took another bite, the sweetness cutting through the heat as she kept walking toward the guild.
