Chapter 103 - [104] : The Shepherd's Advancement Ritual

"Did it succeed?"

Looking at the quiet blue liquid in the pot, Cecilia asked softly.

"Yes, it should have succeeded."

Silas observed carefully and didn't find anything abnormal about the potion.

Although he felt somewhat uneasy, he still chose to trust his spiritual intuition.

"Then I'll drink it."

Cecilia said, taking a cup from the side and dipping it into the bottom of the pot to scoop up the potion.

The potion all flowed together into the cup, not a single drop remaining at the bottom of the pot.

She glanced at the liquid in the cup and was about to bring it to her mouth without hesitation.

"Wait, Cecilia, don't rush."

Silas quickly stopped her.

Only after his sister's gaze turned toward him did he say hesitantly, "I don't really understand the Assassin pathway.

But there's an evil god at the top of the sequence who might influence you, and for the sake of enactment, your hands will also be stained with blood..."

Hearing him say this, Cecilia's expression showed some helplessness. "Brother, the potion is already made. Things have come to this point, so why are you having second thoughts again?"

"What I'm trying to say is that this pathway isn't the most suitable for you.

Perhaps we should wait a bit longer. Maybe I can find a better sequence potion for you..."

"Brother."

Cecilia interrupted Silas. "I know what you're saying makes sense.

But as you described it, investigating to find a sequence suitable for me, finding a way to obtain the formula, buying all the materials... this whole process, how much effort would that require?"

"..."

Silas couldn't answer, because it was indeed as Cecilia said.

Finding a genuine, reliable potion formula and obtaining the formula materials was actually very difficult. Especially since Silas had to work daily and couldn't leave Tingen.

Even joining the Nighthawks, someone like Cecilia could only start as a clerical staff member.

She would need at least two or three years to accumulate merit before she'd be qualified to apply to become a Beyonder.

And there was one point that Cecilia didn't say explicitly, but Silas knew very well: the biggest problem was that they didn't have enough time.

Ma'am M's existence was a ticking time bomb. Who knew when she might suddenly explode?

The sooner Cecilia drank the potion and mastered extraordinary abilities, the sooner she could help Silas afterward.

For the Londor siblings, surviving came first. Other problems could only be considered if they managed to stay alive.

"I understand."

Silas sighed and stopped trying to dissuade her. "After drinking the potion, your body will undergo strange changes. Don't panic, stay calm."

He told his sister the precautions, then let Cecilia pick up the cup and drink the blue potion in one gulp.

"Mm..."

After drinking the potion, Cecilia couldn't help but let out a soft cry.

She hugged her arms, her form dimming, as if about to dissipate into the shadows of the room.

"Relax, feel the changes in your body, then try to guide your consciousness and slowly return to your body..."

Silas was reminded from the side.

Before long, Cecilia emerged from the shadows and slowly opened her eyes.

Her azure eyes had become sharp and spirited, her footsteps light, with an added grace like that of a cat.

"Such a strange feeling. I've become lighter."

She curiously opened her palm, turning it back and forth to look, then took a few steps back and hid in the corner of the room.

She hadn't disappeared; her body was just concealed in the shadows, looking very inconspicuous. Unless one looked specifically, she would easily be overlooked by others.

When I was assassinated, that guy seemed to hide in the shadows like this...

Silas recalled being attacked by the assassin.

Having Cecilia take this pathway, I don't know if it's good or bad...

Just then, he saw his sister's figure suddenly flash. In the blink of an eye, she had already rushed right in front of him.

"Boo!"

Cecilia spread her hands like claws and shouted, as if trying to startle Silas, but her posture was quite adorable.

"How about that, Silas? Am I fast?"

Her big eyes were full of laughter.

Silas knew his sister was trying to amuse him and make him feel better.

"Stop fooling around. You just became a Beyonder; your spirituality is unstable." He smiled bitterly. "Come sit down first. I'll teach you to meditate."

"Okay~"

Cecilia learned quickly. Before long, she had mastered the meditation method.

"How do you feel now?"

Silas asked.

"Mm, seems pretty good."

Cecilia picked up a fork from the dining table and thrust it forward.

The fork cut through the air with a sharp whistle. "The speed is there, but the force seems still a bit lacking."

"That's already quite good."

Silas's bangs were blown up by the wind she created. "For assassination, the most important thing is precision. Just strike the weak points directly."

"Right, tomorrow I'll buy a human anatomy diagram to study."

Cecilia said.

"Mm."

Silas nodded while secretly pondering. I wonder what the key to enacting "Assassin" is. Does it really require assassinating others...?

I really don't want Cecilia's hands stained with blood...

However, his sister really did dare to strike.

Back when she faced Sirius and Ma'am M, she had stabbed with the knife without hesitation. Her courage was much greater than that of the average girl.

Because he had previously sworn an oath before the goddess's holy object, Silas couldn't share the "acting method" with his sister.

But at this moment, besides the siblings, there was an outsider present at 6 Daffodil Street.

Silas directed his gaze toward Ma'am M, who sat on the sofa and hadn't spoken.

"Congratulations to you both."

Seeing Silas look over, she said with a smile.

Silas glanced at her warily.

Ma'am M had already told Cecilia some common knowledge about the extraordinary world.

Add in the three major laws of Beyonder characteristics discussed yesterday, and honestly speaking,

Cecilia now understood potions better than many official Beyonders.

"Now that your sister has become a Beyonder, I have a few small favors I'd like her to help me with."

Ma'am M said.

"What do you want to do?"

Silas's brows furrowed tightly, though he thought to himself: As expected, she deliberately pushed her sister to become a Beyonder.

"No need to be nervous. They're all not-so-dangerous little matters."

Ma'am M said casually.

"Can we refuse?"

"Of course not."

She raised her index finger and shook it. "However, as compensation, same as before, in the extraordinary field, whatever questions you have, I can try to answer them."

Heh, having Cecilia work for you, then slowly influencing her, making her become one of you, to worship that bullshit True Creator, right?

Silas sneered inwardly, though his face didn't show an angry expression.

He thought for a moment, then asked as if challenging her, "Any question at all?"

"Of course, but preferably ones I know."

"Don't worry, you definitely know this question." Silas stared directly into Ma'am M's golden eyes. "I want to know the Shepherd potion formula."

You're a Shepherd, you definitely know the formula, right? This is what you said, that you'd answer anything you know!

"He didn't actually want an answer; he only wanted to make her uncomfortable."

Unexpectedly, Ma'am M thought for a moment, then asked him back, "Do you want to know about the potion, or the ritual?"

Silas couldn't help but freeze.
