Chapter 4 - I Want To Be A....

[~Well, let's begin~] The spirit spoke, her voice a velvet ripple through the void while she watched the cracking egg, each fracture glowing with prismatic light that danced like captive galaxies.

"Okay so what do I need to do to? and why am I still in darkness?" Akasha spoke, his tone fraying with impatience as he was now getting tired of being in complete utter darkness that pressed against every inch of his awareness like an endless, suffocating shroud.

[Well let's first start with the type of world you would like to be born into. And before you start let me make some things clear. No matter what, you will not be born into another family under any circumstances. Your mother.... well, she wouldn't like that very much, her displeasure a cataclysm that could unravel threads of reality.]

[And as I told you before, you are currently at the end process of your incubation. So, of course you can't see anything, the shell still cradling your essence in absolute black.]

'This so-called mother again' Akasha internally grumbled, the words tasting sour as he initially wanted to avoid speaking about this 'mother', the very concept a thorn in his thoughts. After some internal dialogue with absolutely no one, the silence echoing back at him. He spoke

"Okay, so I'm not one to hold grudges in particular unless someone really crosses me. I also understand that the world or the universe doesn't revolve around me.

[....]

"But you have repeatedly spoke about this 'mother' I supposedly have. Yet, who is she? where is she? and why are you here instead of her?" Akasha suddenly asked all the questions we were wondering, his voice sharpening like a blade drawn across stone.

[...]

[Well not to be cliche or anything, but you're not strong enough to bear the weight of hearing her name, the syllables alone are enough to shatter your soul. But you should know that she is always everywhere, always watching, yet she is somewhere existence cannot touch....] The spirit said after she briefly thought about how to explain his mother without killing him before he was even born, her words measured like drops of starfire.

*Silence*

"Well, okay I guess...." Akasha said after briefly pondering over the little riddle, the cryptic threads weaving through his mind. 'Fuck it, things should explain itself in due time I guess.' He thought before speaking again, the decision settling like dust.

[....]

"Oh, yea right, the fantasy crap. Ok so the world should the ultimate fantasy world. I prefer to start in a higher tier world, but also not one that is the highest tier."

[Oka-] The spirit tried speaking before Akasha started speaking once again, his enthusiasm cutting through like a sudden gust.

"Wait a second Miss spirit~" Akasha said, his tone lilting with mischief. If he had his body currently, he would be grinning like a fool, teeth flashing in the dark.

"The world should also be filled with all kinds of races not just humans. I want to start my journey with full fantasy experience! No cheap cultivation bullshit with those weak martial spirits!" Akasha said as he couldn't wait to begin his glorious start of life, the anticipation crackling like lightning in his veins.

~Fufufu~ The spirit chuckled to herself after finally hearing something else besides nonchalance or dramatics in Akasha's tone, the sound a melodic bubble rising through the cosmos.

[Consider it done. Next what age would you like too reborn as? Technically speaking your age is incalculable since your incubation has been going on since the beginning of time. But since you are already mentally 21 years old you should have some suggestions, right?]

[Also, you might as well tell me the race you wish to start as. I shouldn't have to suggest much since your imagination should be bright enough, fueled by those tattered novels.] The spirit spoke as she was becoming more and more interested in Akasha's character, his spark flickering brighter in the void.

"Beginning of time? The fuck?!!!!!" Akasha yelled as he finally remembered the nonsense the spirit spoke in the beginning, the revelation crashing over him like a tidal wave. 'If technically I am as old as time, then... who THE FUCK IS MY MOTHER AND FATHER?!!'

Akasha was internally trying to come to terms to all this new bullshit, his thoughts a whirlwind of chaos and disbelief. After some time of mindlessly thinking he decided to just deal with it in the future.

'~Fufufu~ if your mother heard you speaking of a father she would probably.... I don't know, ground you'

'Seriously though, what kind of entity would be worthy enough to even hold her shoes, to stand in the radiance of her shadow?' The spirit thought before speaking, her amusement a soft undercurrent.

[Yes, beginning of time, blah blah blah. We could've already been done with this if you were acting so dramatic. Hmph! Now Akasha, your age and race upon rebirth?]

"Oh, yea I forgot again... You can't really blame me,'

'Since it's my choice I could probably be anything, right?' Akasha thought after speaking to the spirit, the possibilities unfurling like an infinite tapestry.

"Well, I want to be a....."
