"Ugh! You're just annoying!" Jessica complained before turning on her heel and walking away.
I didn't care. Not anymore. They couldn't hurt me again.
"It feels so good to put them in their places," Maya giggled beside me.

We reached the elevator and the moment the doors slid open, my breath caught in my throat.

His gaze swept over me—slow, controlled, yet intense enough to make the air feel too thick.
My entire body froze. Maya, of course, made the moment worse by clearing her throat loudly, like she was announcing us.
"Come in," Alexander said, stepping slightly to the side to make space.
My heart thudded once—hard.
