Chapter 3 - Chapter 1.5 What do you mean with another world?:

Everyone stared at Subaru in amazement and opened their mouths in surprise. Although they knew that Subaru had strange clothes, customs, and spoke strange words that no one understood, they never thought that he came from another world, and that they were in another world.

Anastasia, with Echidna's scarf around her neck, was the first to break the silence.

Anastasia: "Ohhhh, so it all makes sense now, that's why I could never find any information about you, Natsuki-kun."

Subaru: "What? Information? Wait... you were investigating me, Anastasia?"

Subaru responded to Anastasia's statement, and was a little offended by it, but he would listen to what she had to say before jumping to conclusions.

Anastasia: "Don't worry, Natsuki-kun, it's just protocol that I follow with everyone I negotiate with or am interested in. After your drama in the royal selection, I investigated you and couldn't find anything in your background, apart from your meeting with the Sword Saint in the capital. I couldn't find anything before that, but if you're from another world, it makes sense..."

Anastasia sighed as she finished her answer, as if she were defeated and a little sad.

Subaru calmed down and sighed, deciding to continue his speech: "Well, although it still bothers me that you investigated me behind my back, it makes sense that you did, and yes, you're right in saying that you found nothing before my meeting with Reinhard. When I met Reinhard and was in the capital, it was the same day I was summoned to your world."

Emilia: "Your first day... so that means... the same day I met you was when you came from another world...?" Emilia was still amazed by her knight's revelation, although he said he came from a small country to the east, and when she later found out, she said he came from Beyond the Great Waterfall. Although there were people who theorized that he also came from the Great Waterfall, such as the great Hoshin of Kararagi.

Subaru: "That's right, Emilia-tan. The first day in another world is the same day I met you. Don't you think it's fate that on the day you came to the capital, I arrived from the heavens to save you? Yes, that must be it, the fate that united our hearts even before we met."

Beatrice: "I guess Betty doesn't know any magic for teleporting between worlds, but Betty will believe everything her contractor tells her, I suppose."

While Beatrice knew that Subaru was from another world because of the stories Subaru told her every night, Subaru never told her exactly how he was teleported, so it was a good opportunity to ask.

Beatrice: *It would also mean that Betty's Subaru met her one day after arriving.*

Beatrice thought, with a silly smile on her face.

Ram: "Wait a minute, Beatrice-sama. If what Barusu says is true, that would mean that Barusu already knew how to speak, as well as read and write in our language. How did you know, Barusu?"

Ram frowned and looked Subaru in the eyes, because if Subaru came from another world, it wouldn't make sense that he had learned a new language in less than a day. Not even the most intelligent people in the world could do that (except Reinhard of course, with his countless divine protections).

Subaru thought about what to say for a moment, because although it was true that the spoken language was the same in both worlds, he obviously couldn't say that he had learned to read and write because Ram had taught him in loops that were lost in time due to Subaru's multiple deaths in the Roswaal manor.

Subaru: "Eh, the truth is that it came naturally, as if I had always spoken the language, which, by the way, is the same in this world, but in speech," said Subaru as he struck a professor's pose and pretended to put on imaginary glasses.

Julius: "But then, how were you summoned in the first place, Subaru?"

Julius, much calmer after listening carefully to Subaru's words, still had a question lingering in his mind. How had he been summoned to her world?

Beatrice: "I suppose it's Betty's contractor's duty to say how he got there with her, I suppose."

Beatrice followed up on Julius' question, as she also wanted to know.

Beatrice: *Besides, if it had been a teleportation spell, especially to another world, the amount of mana required would be absurd, and you would need a magic circle the size of the capital, I suppose.*

Emilia and Rem also looked eagerly at Subaru, as they too wanted to know how he had ended up with them.

Subaru: "That's a very good question, and the answer is... I don't know!" Subaru finished his sentence with his classic silly smile.

Everyone: "What?"

Subaru: "That's right, the truth is that even now I still don't know how I got here with you guys." Pointing to the strange building, he continued, "Look, see that place? From one

moment to the next, I blinked and BOOM! I appeared in the capital with Emilia-tan." Subaru made an explosion gesture with his hands and wrapped his arms around himself in an arc.

Anastasia: "Although it still seems strange to me, we still don't know how we got here. Natsuki-kun, were you also swallowed by a shadow?" Anastasia asked, with a hint of suspicion in her eyes, imperceptible to anyone who hadn't known her all her life, like Echidna or Julius.

Subaru: "Yes, I woke up in the green room, and that shadow swallowed me and Patrasche." Subaru confirmed the others' suspicions.

Emilia: "!!! Subaru, are you sure you're okay?" Emilia, realizing that the same thing had happened to Subaru, went to his side and quickly touched his forehead to see if he was okay, as she was aware of how physically weak Subaru was, and she would never forgive herself if anything happened to him.

Subaru: Waaaaaah, Emilia-tan, did you finally discover your hidden feelings for me? I'm so happy I could die, E M T!, E M T! As Subaru blushed and said his silly things, Emilia blushed and removed her hand from Subaru's forehead.

Emilia: "Subaruuuu, don't tease me for worrying about youuuuu (>//.\\<)." Emilia blushed even more, her pointed ears so red that one would think they would burn if touched.

Beatrice: "Your worries are in vain, Emilia. Betty's Subaru is fine, I suppose. I don't feel any injuries inside him, and our contract says he's fine too." Beatrice said as she squeezed Subaru's hand and pouted with her cheeks puffed out.

Subaru: "Aaaaah, my Beako is so cute, isn't she, Emilia-tan? We look like a family with our little daughter, don't you think?" Subaru said, laughing and patting her head, to which Emilia also smiled and hugged Beatrice.

Emilia: "Idiot... But I agree that Beako is sooo cute." Emilia said, still blushing and laughing charmingly.

*How cute...* Subaru thought.

Witnessing such a magnificent scene, with the moonlight shining on Emilia, something that made her already divine beauty multiply until it reached the heavens, a scene worthy of any fairy tale.

Rem puffed out her cheeks a little, something Ram noticed from her expression and the emotions she felt through synesthesia. Then, Rem tried to get up to go to Subaru, as she also wanted affection from her hero, so she tried to stand up, but she didn't have enough strength in her legs and fell to the floor.

Subaru, Beatrice, and Emilia noticed this and quickly went to help her.

Julius also noticed this, but he considered the situation to be under control and did not go to help her, but remained alert to intervene if necessary in any problems that might arise. Patrasche, not wanting to be left out of the conversation, went with them too. Although she also cared about Rem and was fond of her, deep down she intervened more to be there for Subaru, as she considered Rem a "rival" in winning her rider's affection.

Ram, who was already with Rem, held her gently, but firmly enough to prevent her from falling again.

Ram: "Sissy! Are you okay? What happened?"

Subaru: "Rem! Are you okay?" Subaru arrived a few seconds later and crouched down in front of Rem, next to Beatrice and Emilia.

Emilia: "Rem, are you okay? Are you hurt?"

Beatrice: "I guess Betty wants to know how you are too, I suppose."

Rem, who was now being held by Ram, blushed a little from embarrassment at falling while trying to do something as simple as standing up, but she also liked how everyone cared about her.

Rem: "Aa-ah! Subaru-kun! And Nee-sama, Emilia-sama and Beatrice-sama... I-it's just..." Even though Rem liked being important to them, she was also very embarrassed about falling down, so she started to stutter.

Subaru: "Rem! Please tell me what happened! I promise I'll do everything I can!" Subaru said with a serious look, as he cared deeply for Rem and would do everything he could for her.

Rem: "Um... Ever since I woke up, I've been feeling a little weak, and I can't put any strength into my legs. In fact, I can barely move my arms... I'm sorry, I don't want to be a burden, and yet..." As Rem's mood was dampened by her fear of becoming a burden, Subaru interrupted her and hugged her tightly.

Subaru: "Don't blame yourself. It's not your fault, and you're not a burden."

Rem: "Subaru-kun..." Rem was surprised, but she still loved how her hero cared for her so much that he would take her with him even though she was a burden. Rem blushed again (yes, again) and happiness filled her once more.

Rem: "Subaru-kun, I-I..."

Subaru: "If you can't walk, I'll carry you myself. It's not your fault you can't walk, the only one to blame is that bastard Gluttony." As Subaru said that, he turned around and faced away from Rem, telling her to get on.

Rem, seeing how her hero was going to carry her when she couldn't walk, couldn't help but smile, and just before she climbed onto his back, a hand stopped her.

Ram: "Barusu, stop. If anyone should carry Rem, it's me." Ram immediately objected to Subaru's request, which surprised Rem.

Rem: "Nee-sama?" Rem asked, surprised and somewhat annoyed, as she didn't want to miss this unique opportunity to be carried by Subaru.

Ram: "Considering how weak he is, Barusu couldn't carry you with all the gentleness you deserve right now, Rem. Barusu has been overexerting himself and has taken a lot of beatings today, but I can carry you without any problems, Rem." (She just wanted to carry her, ok?)

Rem: "Beatings? What do you mean? Was Subaru-kun hurt?..." As Rem remained confused, anger slowly began to flow through her body.

Rem: *Did someone dare touch Rem's hero...?* While Rem is having rather hostile and dangerous thoughts, he is interrupted by Subaru, who senses Rem's anger and decides to intervene before anyone gets hurt.

Subaru: "Waaah?! No, no, no, don't worry about me, Rem. Although it's true that I took a few hits here and there, and I pushed myself a little harder than usual, I'm fine! The green room healed all my wounds and I regained all my energy, so now I'm 100% again!" Subaru replied quickly, not wanting to worry her too much, so he downplayed everything that had happened.

Subaru had died more than 20 times trying to conquer the Watchtower of the Pleiades, dying in horrible and traumatic ways, such as being burned alive, falling hundreds of meters, being vaporized, bleeding to death, among others.

But for Subaru, due to his low self-esteem, he did it for one reason only. He didn't want to worry them .

For Subaru, his friends were everything, and they were his reason for moving forward and not succumbing to the horrors he had experienced. Without them, he would surely have broken down long ago and given up.

Among his motivations, there was one that stood out above the rest:

Rem.

Rem was the one who had convinced him to keep going when he was at his lowest point, when he didn't know what to do and had given up, when he was at his lowest point ever. But Rem didn't care.

She confessed her love to him, told him that she loved him just as he was, that even though Subaru hated himself, thought he was worthless, a pathetic loser who couldn't do anything, she told him that he didn't know anything about what she saw. She saw him as a true hero, who had made her time, which she thought was standing still, start again, who despite being weak, didn't give up, who despite not being able to do anything, continued to do his best, and she loved him for that.

She convinced him not to give up, and to save everyone. To be a hero. At that moment, Subaru truly believed that he could try, that he could make it happen, that he could become the hero she saw him as.

But it all ended when she was devoured by Gluttony, losing her name and her memories. Subaru was devastated by this. He couldn't do anything; he couldn't save her, despite how

much she had helped him, despite the fact that she had saved him from despair. He couldn't do the same for her.

Determined to save her and Emilia, Subaru slit his throat with a broken sword belonging to one of the knights who had fallen in battle. All with the intention of bringing her back and saving them both, even if he had to fight an Archbishop of Sin again, no matter how many times it took, or how much he would suffer, if it was for them, Subaru would do it as many times as necessary without hesitation.

As Subaru's gaze hardened at the thought of his past, Rem quickly asked him:

Rem: "If you say so, then Rem will trust you and not keep asking... But Subaru-kun, what is the Green Room? Where is that place?" Rem was confused, as the place called the "Green Room" did not appear anywhere in her memories, so she asked.

Rem: *Will I stay in the place where they say some kind of shadow swallowed them and brought us to Subaru-kun's world?*

Subaru: "Aaah, that's a long story that I'll tell you later, I promise I'll tell you everything, okay?" Rem nodded, and Subaru continued: "Basically, we were at the Pleiades Watchtower for a certain reason, and after conquering it, a shadow swallowed us all and we appeared here, in my world."

Rem: *The Pleiades Watchtower?! That place in the sand dunes, where it is said that the Sage Shaula resides, who has knowledge of everything that has happened in the world and who is in a place where no one has been able to reach in 400 years?* Rem was surprised by this revelation, although when it came to her hero, she was confident that there was nothing he couldn't achieve. And although she wanted to bombard him with questions, she knew it wasn't the right time, as they were in another world and everyone was as confused as she was.

Rem: "...Even though Rem is immensely curious to know everything Subaru-kun has been through, Rem will be patient and wait for the right moment to ask him, but she will not forget that promise."

Noticing that the conversation had ended, a girl with green eyes and braided blue hair decided to speak up after having been silent throughout all the drama.

Meili: "Although I have to admit that all of this was very moving, but in case you've forgotten, Onii-san said that this place was another world and that it was his homeland. Meili pointed out the situation they were all in, that they had momentarily forgotten to think about her because of the reunion between Rem and Subaru, as well as Julius and Anastasia.

Anastasia: Right, even though this whole situation seems so incredible that it could be fake, everything seems to indicate that we are in another world.

Emilia: "Riiight, Subaru. This place is so incredible, I still can't believe you come from somewhere as amazing as this and haven't told us about it." Emilia said the last part in a lower voice, as it hurt her to think that her knight didn't trust her enough to tell her more details about his homeland.

Beatrice: "Even though I'm seeing this place for the first time, when I think about it, it's quite similar to the stories that Betty's Subaru has been telling her all this time, I suppose."

Emilia felt the pain in her heart when she learned that he was telling Beatrice stories about this place, but not her. But since they were in a complicated situation, she decided to keep those thoughts to herself.

Ram: "Ram thinks Barusu should stop trying to seduce his charming sister with his lustful desires, and that he should explain where we are exactly."

Seeing everyone's opinions, Subaru decided that he had to give them the basic information about his world.

Since he was the only one who knew where they were, he was the only one who could guide and protect them in this place.

Subaru: "Okay, okay, I'll start by explaining a few things." He stood up, and although Rem pouted slightly, she understood that what Subaru was about to say was important and didn't try to stop him.

Subaru: "First of all, in this world, magic does not exist, and races other than humans, such as demi-humans, do not exist here.

This left everyone stunned by such a shocking revelation. How could a place without magic or races exist? In this place where they were, there was undoubtedly a yellow light above them, illuminating them at night, so if that wasn't magic, what was it?

Anastasia: "Hold up, Natsuki, how is it even possible that magic doesn't exist in this place? There's clearly a magic crystal giving us light right now, so how would you explain that?" Anastasia, recovering from the shock, asked a totally natural question that anyone else would have asked.

Subaru: "Good question, Anastasia. The answer is that, even though magic and demihuman races don't exist, we evolved differently. We evolved using something called 'Technology,' which in your case you would call metias. Without going into detail, think of them as metias, only much more advanced. In fact, the metia I used to locate the White Whale was something called a 'cell phone.'"

Everyone was surprised by the latest revelation, but since Subaru hadn't finished speaking yet, they just nodded.

Subaru saw that everyone was still paying attention, so he continued.

Subaru: "Continuing with the topic, since there is no magic, creatures such as beasts or bastards like the Archbishops do not exist in this world, so don't worry about that."

Everyone was relieved to hear this confirmation that there were no lunatics like the Archbishops or creatures like the White Whale, both of which killed an incredible number of people, and they were grateful for this confirmation.

Subaru: "Also, in this world, kingdoms no longer exist. Well, technically they do, but only in specific cases. Furthermore, there are no divine dragons making pacts with leaders or anything like that."

Everyone was surprised by this revelation, although they had expected it, since magic did not exist in this world. But in that case, who would protect the people in the event of a catastrophe, something like The Great Calamity that happened 400 years ago in their world? Who would protect them?

Subaru: "Here, instead of kings or councils of wise men, we have presidents and the state. It's similar, and much more complicated, but basically we decide by voting who we want to be our representatives, meaning that the people decide who will be the king, in their terms, instead of there being a royal lineage."

As Subaru continued to explain a great deal of information, a cold breeze blew and froze everyone (except Emilia), reminding them that it was nighttime and very cold. Meili, who was hugging herself, said

Meili: "Umm, Onii-san, although what you're saying is really interesting, and I really want to know, isn't there somewhere else we can go to take shelter from the cold?" Meili said, chattering her teeth.

Everyone else also felt the cold, which had always been there, but due to the commotion of the situation, both from having gone to another world and the removal of the effects of the Authority of Gluttony, and the reunion of Subaru and Rem, they hadn't noticed the cold. But now that the situation had calmed down, the cold they had already been feeling quickly made itself known.

Beatrice: "I suppose it's not a bad idea to take shelter from this cold, although it's not much of a problem for Betty, since she's a Great Spirit, I suppose."

Beatrice supported the idea, but even though she said it wasn't much of a problem, it was obvious to Subaru that she was also very cold, but she wanted to act tough so as not to put any more pressure on him than he was already under.

Emilia approached Subaru, worried that he would freeze, but a gesture from Subaru made her understand that he was fine, although her concern remained.

Patrasche: "Kyaa." Patrasche approached Subaru, trying to protect him from the cold. Even though he was an earth dragon and was used to enduring such temperatures, his rider was not.

Subaru: "Patrasche... right, the rest of the explanation can wait. Besides, I know a place where we can spend the night."

Emilia: "Umm, and where would that be, Subaru?"

Subaru: "That would be... my parents' house."

Everyone froze at Subaru's response. They noticed how he stiffened a little when he said the

last part, which was strange.

Emilia: "His parents...?"

Rem: "Subaru-kun's parents...?"

Beatrice: "Betty's Subaru's parents...?"

As the girls closest to Subaru processed the information, they also began to think more deeply about Subaru's situation.

Subaru said he had been teleported from one moment to the next, and it had already been over a year since Subaru came into their lives.

How did Subaru's parents feel when they found out he had disappeared?

Even though they didn't know them, if they were responsible for raising and educating Subaru, they must have been incredible people. In that case, how devastated were they? And not only that, how did Subaru feel, being separated from his family for over a year, not knowing if he would ever see them again?

Subaru seemed to notice their looks and quickly intervened.

Subaru: "Don't worry, my parents are incredible people, much more than I deserve, but I'm sure they'll let us stay the night at the very very least."

Subaru thought they were tense because they were afraid their parents wouldn't accept them, so he quickly calmed them down, even though that wasn't what was worrying them... at least not entirely.

The cold was getting stronger, and the wind was blowing around them, making their clothes flutter.

Subaru: "Ugh, we should start heading there, the cold is getting worse, but first, a few final instructions."

The girls snapped out of their daze, and along with the rest of the group, fell silent and looked at Subaru.

Subaru: "First of all, don't talk to anyone or do anything unless I say so, and under NO circumstances use magic. It doesn't exist in this world, and if you see something like that, you might get scared and we'd get into a looooooot of trouble. People would probably think we're a cosplay group from some series, but in any case, let me do the talking."

Subaru approached Patrasche and took out a long piece of cloth from his rugs.

Subaru: "I'm sorry, Patrasche, but for now I need to cover you with this. If people see you, the situation will get much more complicated. Besides, it won't be for long, so be strong, okay?"

Patrasche: "Kyaaa." Upon receiving his approval (or so Subaru believed), he covered Patrasche with the cloth so that only her silhouette was visible.

Although it was still VERY suspicious, it was much better than going without it, as Patrasche would be discovered instantly by security cameras.

Subaru: "Good girl." He said, patting her on the head. "Oh yes , by the way, there are no earth dragons in this world either, that's why I'm covering her."

Beatrice: "I suppose you can still see her shape, but it's much better than nothing, I suppose."

Another cold breeze blew, even fiercer and colder than the last.

Subaru: "Ugh, we have to leave now or we'll freeze to death." Subaru didn't know why it was so cold, which was unusual in Japan, but he decided to ignore it and focus on getting to his parents' house.

Subaru: "Well, remember what I told you and follow me. You can look around and speak quietly, but if you see anyone, don't speak until I tell you to. If you can do that, I promise we'll get there safely."

Everyone nodded as the cold continued to increase little by little.

Emilia: "Yes! I have complete faith in you, Subaru. I'll do whatever you tell me to do." Rem: "I also have complete faith in you, Subaru-kun."

Beatrice: "As your contracted spirit, it's only natural that I trust my contractor completely, I suppose."

The rest of the group also looked at Subaru, implying that they shared his feelings of confidence.

Subaru: "Well, let's go! Follow me, everyone!"

Ram carried Rem on her back. And Patrasche, who was still covered by the cloth, followedthem by their scent.

Everyone began to follow Subaru, who was leading the group, along with Emilia walking beside him and Beatrice holding his hand.

The further they went, the more surprised they became by the atmosphere as they walked; it was incredible, it really was another world.

They quickly passed by the convenience store where Subaru had been transported.

Subaru: *I guess that's where it all started, huh?* He thought with a slight, nostalgic smile.

Although his life in another world was far from an ideal experience, considering that he had died more than 40 times, suffering traumatic experiences that he could not forget even if he tried with all his might.

Horrible deaths, dying over and over again in multiple ways.

But despite that, Subaru was happy to have been summoned to another world, as it was there that he was able to meet them all.

Emilia, Rem, Beatrice, Ram, Garfiel, Otto, Frederica, Petra, Meili, Patrasche, Reinhard, Felt, Crush, Wilhelm, Felix, Ricardo, Mimi and her siblings, Shaula, among many others.

Subaru kept walking and didn't say a word, although Beatrice sensed through their bond that Subaru felt a strong sense of nostalgia and happiness, albeit accompanied by pain, but she decided not to say anything at that moment.

Strange houses, with architecture never seen before, although it was somewhat reminiscent of the City of Water, Pristella. There were also large metal poles that emitted light, even though magic did not exist in that world (light poles).

While everyone was admiring the peculiarities of this new world, a blue-haired maiden decided to break the silence.

Rem: "Umm, Subaru-kun, can I ask you a question?"

Subaru: "What? Of course! You don't need to ask my permission for that. For you, I'll answer everything I can." He said as he gave her a thumbs up and smiled.

Rem quickly smiled and continued with her question.

Rem: "Well... could Rem hear a little about what your parents are like?, of course, only if you don't mind talking about it"

Subaru was a little surprised by the question, but answered immediately.

Subaru: "My parents..." he said, scratching his chin, but smiled the next moment.

Subaru: "They were incredible people... No, I'm sure they still are. I haven't seen them in over a year, but I'm sure they still are. Before I came to their world, I wasn't in the best state. I was a shut-in who didn't leave my room and didn't do anything productive. I was a nuisance and a bother in every sense of the word. But even so, they never scolded me, never said anything bad to me, or treated me differently because of it. They acted as if nothing was wrong, and they still love me with all their hearts. I owe them so much, so now that I'm going to see them again after so long, I feel a little nervous, but I still want to see them again.

The group, moving slowly through the streets, listened attentively to every word Subaru said.

Although Rem (partly because of the conversation on the hill) and Beatrice (because Subaru had told her about it) understood more or less how he felt, they were still surprised by the revelation.

Emilia: "I see... you must have had a really hard time, Subaru..."

Subaru: "Don't worry, Emilia-tan. I got over those old-fashioned feelings a long time ago with all of you guys help."

Emilia was happy, and although she still felt sorry for Subaru, who had been separated from his parents, she smiled back at him.

Beatrice: "I guess Subaru has Betty now, so he shouldn't feel too bad, I suppose."

Subaru: "Beako... how can you be so cute and adorable?!" Subaru began patting Beatrice on the head, to which she puffed out her cheeks and pouted, but she didn't pull away or say anything, because she actually loved the feeling.

Rem: *Subaru-kun's parents... will they accept me? Will they dislike me? What if I make a bad impression?* Although Rem was a little nervous inside, she also wanted to meet them and thank them for raising such a fantastic person.

Rem: "Subaru-kun's parents... I want to meet them... but what if they don't like me?" Rem said in a low voice, but Subaru heard her and replied.

Subaru: "That would be impossible, besides, I'm sure they'll be very happy to meet you." Subaru replied with a smile.

Rem let out a squeal, which she instantly regretted, and embarrassed and blushing, she hid behind Ram's head, although she was very happy, as she had always wanted to meet them,

as well as receive their approval and... blessing.

When Rem let out a small squeal that made Ram raise an eyebrow in disbelief, Subaru let out a small chuckle.

Ram: "They'd better be, although knowing Barusu, Ram wouldn't expect much else from his parents."

Subaru: "Nee-sama, why are you so cruel? But seriously, they're very kind people. I'm sure they'll be delighted to meet all of you."

When Subaru finished talking, Emilia, who had her cheeks slightly puffed out, also wanted some attention from her knight.

Emilia: "I want to meet your parents too! I'm sure they'll be as great as my knight... But, Subaru... are you sure it's okay for me to be there? I am a half-elf after all, what if they hate me? I don't want to be a nuisance..." Although Emilia had spoken energetically at first, halfway through her sentence she became depressed.

Even though she knew there were no races or magic, she thought that according to what Subaru had told her in the year after they had overcome the Sanctuary, thwarted Roswaal's plans, and defeated the Great Rabbit, there were stories in her homeland that spoke of things that could happen in her world, such as magic, races, and many other incredible and interesting things. Although Emilia didn't quite understand at the time why Subaru made something commonplace like magic seem so novel, now that she knew he was from beyond the Great Waterfall and came from another world, she began to think that it was also possible that in this world there would be discrimination against half-elves in this world, she began to think that it was also possible that in this world there would be

discrimination against half-elves, even though those were concerns that made no sense in that world. But in her own world, where she was discriminated against just because of her race, she couldn't help but think about it.

Emilia became increasingly sad as she thought about it, but Subaru immediately understood what she was thinking and took her hand.

Emilia: "W-waaah?! Subaru?!"

Subaru: "They'll love you, I promise. And even though I'm sure everyone here would praise you like a goddess, since half-elves are known for their kindness and beauty. And even if what you say happens, I promise I'll protect you, Emilia-tan. I am your knight after all, aren't I?" Subaru immediately comforted Emilia, to which Emilia blushed and replied awkwardly.

Emilia: "Uh, ah, um, Y-YES!" Emilia stuttered while blushing a little.

Subaru: "Besides, for you, I would go to the Great Waterfall itself just to bring you some water, don't forget that, eh?" Subaru teased.

Emilia: "Silly Subaru..." Emilia pouted as she watched Subaru tease her, although she was actually smiling happily because her knight was willing to do so much for her.

Beatrice: "I suppose your contractor shouldn't forget to introduce your spirit, I suppose." Beatrice puffed out her cheeks as she pouted again, having been left out of the conversation about her parents' introduction. She was her spirit, after all!

Subaru: "Awwww, my Beako is jealous, huh? Don't worry, Beako's extreme cuteness would melt anyone's heart, in this world and any other! I'm sure my parents will adore you too, Beako!" He said as he played with her puffed cheeks.

Beatrice: "Hmmph!" Beatrice crossed her arms and turned her head away.

Emilia: "Awww, Beako is sooo cute, I'm sure Subaru's parents will love her and think of her as their little sister."

Beatrice: "I supose that I'm over 400 years old and I'm the oldest in this group, so if anyone should be the little brother, it should be Betty's Subaru, I suppose!" Beatrice pouted even harder and everyone laughed, which annoyed Beatrice even more, but nothing more that a few pats on Subaru's head couldn't fix.

With the conversation over, the group continued slowly through the streets. Right now they were in a residential area, where there were houses and a few small businesses that were closed, with signs in a language they couldn't read, except for Beatrice, who knew a little Japanese that Subaru had taught her.

After walking for about 20 minutes since they started, Meili was tired of walking, and she let Subaru know.

Meili: "Um, onii-san."

Subaru: "Hm? What's wrong, Meili? Are you sleepy or something?"

Meili: "Although it's not what I asked, I admit I'm a little tired, but what I wanted to ask was how long it would take to get to Onii-san's parents' house."

Subaru: "Hm, good question. We've been walking for a while, so you must be feeling nervous, but don't worry! I've been down this road many times, so I'd say we're about 5 minutes away from finally arriving."

Ram: "I hope Barusu is right. The last thing we need is for our guide to forget the way and get us lost."

Julius: "Ram-sama, I don't think it's necessary to doubt Subaru at this point. Considering his body language, we are undoubtedly close." Julius defended Subaru, arguing that he could tell from his expression that he was telling the truth.

Subaru already knew that Julius was quite perceptive, but he never thought that his slight changes in expression when passing by places, such as a candy store (which was closed) where he had been since childhood, slightly opening his mouth or looking at it with nostalgia, would be noticed so easily.

Subaru: "It's a little creepy that you're paying so much attention to me, if you think about it, hehehe."

Anastasia: "In that case, Natsuki-kun, taking advantage of the last few minutes of the trip, could you continue telling us about this new world that, by the way, we still know very little about?" Anastasia, with her innate merchant instinct, went to ask Subaru directly for valuable information, since it was true that they knew nothing about the world they were in except that it was more technologically advanced and that there was no magic or semihuman races.

Rem also looked at Subaru with interest, since apart from having lost a year with him, his world was super interesting, so she wanted to know as much as possible about her hero.

Subaru: "Hmmm, to be honest, there are so many different things here that it would be quicker to ask what is the same, but considering we're about to arrive... I know!" Subaru banged his fist on his palm, implying that he had come up with something.

Subaru: "You know how in your world there are only four major countries, right? Here, there

are almost 200!" Everyone was surprised to understand what that meant, but they didn't

want to interrupt.

Subaru: "In this world, a year ago, there were more than 7 BILLION PEOPLE on Earth! Which, by the way, is what we call our world," Subaru clarified.

Everyone's eyes widened at this shocking revelation, as according to estimates made by all the kingdoms, there were at least 200 million people in their entire world. The fact that there were more than 30 times the world's population in this world was simply terrifying.

How big was this world compared to theirs?

Subaru: "According to my studies in the mansion, there are about 200 million people in your entire world, right? Here, instead of kingdoms, we call them 'countries,' and there are several times more countries than that!"

Subaru: "And, on top of that—." As Subaru continued talking, his eyes caught sight of something familiar and he stopped immediately.

They had arrived at his old house.

He had lost track of time while talking about the world's population and had forgotten that they were already very close to home.

The rest of the group noticed that Subaru had stopped suddenly and was staring at a twostory house, so they understood that it was his home. Subaru tensed up and became nervous. It was a natural reaction, as he hadn't seen his parents in over a year.

Emilia, noticing his nervousness, took Subaru's hand tightly, pulling him out of that state

Emilia: "Subaru, no matter what happens, we are here to help you."

Rem: "That's right, Subaru-kun, I'm here for you. Besides, I'm sure your parents are still waiting for you, so don't be afraid."

Beatrice: "Betty is here to protect you too, Subaru. She's your spirit after all, i suppose."

The rest of the group looked at Subaru and nodded, their expressions saying basically the same thing, even Patrasche did! (By the way, Patrasche is still completely covered in cloth, hahaha).

Seeing everyone's emotions, Subaru strengthened his resolve and approached the door.

Beatrice let go of his hand, knowing that it was an important moment for her contractor to see his parents again, whom he hadn't seen in over a year, so she would endure being without him for a moment, but only for a little while!

Subaru stood in front of the door and looked at everyone once more before knocking.

Subaru: "Well, here I am. Natsuki Subaru has returned from another world, and now he's going to restart his life in his home world, FROM ZERO!"

Hello everyone! Zorretox here!

So chat, did i cook?

As you can see, the first chapter is finally here! To be honest, I've been writing nonstop for the past three days because I was so excited to start this fic, so I did a week's worth of work in three days! (Wow, I'm amazing, right?)

In this first chapter, I wanted to explore the current situation before the teleportation a bit, and I think it turned out pretty well, since I've seen that other fics of this style only skim over it. The mystery of why Subaru was teleported after Volcanica's intervention won't be explored, as it's not important to the story. (Unless you want it to, of course)

In this fic, as you can see, Subaru's deaths and traumas are affecting him more than you realize, and this will be a central point in the fic: Subaru's suffering (lol).

Don't worry, I'm not a monster (not completely xd), so his parents, in addition to his future harem, are going to help him overcome his traumas.

I don't know if you like this writing style with excessive details of the environment (it's truly awful to write), but I feel it gives the fic more authenticity and life, and prevents the characters from feeling out of character and flat, like not asking obvious questions or things like that.

Chapters will be uploaded at least once a week for chapters this long (almost 16k words 💀), but you decide if you prefer shorter chapters (5k words) more frequently, like every 3 days, or one long chapter a week.

I'm trying to write the characters as close to canon as possible, so any discrepancies you notice and let me know about will be greatly appreciated.

Subaru's harem won't be official until a few chapters later, due to development issues (the feelings will still be there, okay?). I don't think Emilia will just discover she loves Subaru out of nowhere (she does, but she doesn't realize it), but the presence of Rem, a "rival" who does know what love is, will be the push she needs to acknowledge her feelings. The relationship will develop slowly so it doesn't feel out of character, but I'll do my best to make sure it doesn't feel awkward or forced.

Just so you know, this is full of grammatical errors, especially this commentary section, but I'm tired of writing and want to upload the chapter already, so I'll edit it later.

What else... Oh yeah, I know there might have been a lot of text, especially the part before the summoning, but it was a bit annoying but necessary, and it won't be repeated (I hope lol).

Shaula will return in the next chapter, and if for some reason she doesn't, she'll definitely be back in the third one.

The first few chapters will be family-friendly, but I'm thinking of a plot to give Subaru some tension, excitement, and suffering (it's character development, I swear 🙏).

The next chapter will mainly focus on Subaru's reunion with his parents, as well as the group and them, and what their next steps will be in this world.

The next chapter will definitely be released before Friday, November 14th, but with a LOT of luck and faith, it might be released before this Monday 10th (unlikely, but if I'm feeling motivated, it's possible; give me a 70% chance I'll finish it by then). I'm not promising anything. (It's confirmed to be out before Friday 14th, so don't worry.)

Any suggestions, opinions, or reviews would be greatly appreciated, and I ask that you share them to help me improve.

This was translated using DeepL (Yes, again, btw, i understand english and i can talk pretty comfortable, but i just dont wanna rewrite the same chapter in another lenguage when i could be using that time to write a new chapter), so any translation errors feel free to tell me in the comments.

Thanks for reading!

(This is chapter one, but due to WebNovel limitations i had to split it into two parts.)

Edit: Btw, the text being all in the right was fixed, and i made some minor corrections.
