"Do you think that the food is alright?" I asked. Gine poked though the mess as Uchel and Ocello started taking care of the bodies of the beastmen.
I stared at the dead men in revulsion. There were six people who were crushed or slashed to death from the battle.
"Were they all her husbands?" I asked.
"They were," Cuau said quietly.
"Why would they go along with something like this." I looked over to Cuau. "They can't have been okay with ambushing someone."
"It isn't as rare as we'd like to think." Ocello said.
"I've seen several hunting parties that have gone out and ambushed others for their kill. Usually those from other tribes." Uchel said. He was bouncing Kachel on his shoulder. The baby belched loudly and he smiled down at him.
"That is just the way some people are," Cuau said. "My mother's husbands bragged about some of the people they attacked."
"Wouldn't that eventually cause problems with the surrounding villages?" I asked.
