The ride home was spent with Zimo simply staring at Gu Yuxuan as he drove. The angst of earlier hadn't dissipated, filling the car with a suffocating silence.
They had almost reached home when Zimo finally said something.
"Why did you have to be so brutally honest? Your father was already in a bad space."
"He's always in a bad space", Gu Yuxuan answered.
"But you left everyone shocked, not just him."
Gu Yuxuan took a deep breath, not answering, parking the car. He tilted his head to look at Zimo.
"So? Do you feel shy now?"
"No… I…"
"You what?"
"Why are you cross-questioning me?"
Gu Yuxuan stretched out his hand, resting his hand on Zimo's chin. "For everyone it will blow over, but honestly, not for my father."
"Gu Yuxuan, I feel so much better now." Zimo said, forcing a giggle. "How will I face your father again?" he muttered irritably.
"I'm not even sure if I'll see him again, yet you're already wondering how you'll face him?"
