Sigurd looked toward the people in front of him. Then he felt the direction the train was going and finally understood what was really happening.
He pointed toward a middle-aged man wearing a fine suit.
"You guys are really funny. Using so much power just to destroy a city—I have to say you've put in quite an effort."
Hearing this, both the man in the suit and the man in the bat costume looked at him with surprise.
The man in the suit regarded Sigurd warily.
"Who are you?"
Sigurd shook his head, then looked toward the man in the bat costume.
"You are quite a tough character for a mortal."
On the opposite side, Bruce Wayne studied the sudden appearance of this stranger. Just as he was analyzing what the man meant, he heard the compliment.
Before he could ask who he was, he felt the monorail slowing down.
At the same time, he saw the man opposite him gesture as if performing some sort of magic.
Then he heard him speak.
"This guy shouldn't be too tough for you to handle."
Bruce Wayne looked at the person, about to ask, but the man did not speak.
Just as he thought the person would walk out of the monorail, the other man vanished from his position.
Bruce looked toward where the man had disappeared. He was surprised but showed no expression, instead turning his attention to Ra's al Ghul.
"You planned so hard to create chaos in Gotham City, but see—your plan was destroyed by an unknown person."
Ra's al Ghul looked at Bruce Wayne.
"I failed to predict the unknown, but I did not fail to judge you. You are the perfect warrior I wanted in my League, but you chose to betray."
Bruce looked at Ra's al Ghul, unable to understand his perspective.
"I know you may have your reasons, or your past may be tragic, but that does not mean every human has to be punished."
Ra's al Ghul looked at his student, whom he had taught himself, yet whose nature had not changed in the slightest.
Just as Bruce knocked out Ra's al Ghul, he heard footsteps.
Bruce turned toward the sound to see Jim Gordon approaching.
"Batman, did you see anyone come through here?"
Jim Gordon looked at Ra's al Ghul as he asked.
Bruce Wayne shook his head, then pointed toward Ra's al Ghul.
"He is the main culprit who destroyed Arkham. He poisoned Gotham City's water supply with Dr. Crane's toxin."
Hearing this, Jim Gordon nodded, then thought of the person he had asked about earlier.
"Did you see anyone unusual? Just a few minutes ago, a man punched Dr. Crane through a wall."
Bruce Wayne looked surprised, then thought of the person who had appeared on the monorail.
"Can you describe him? How did he look?"
Gordon thought for a moment.
"He was a muscular man with long hair, wearing a gray suit."
Bruce Wayne knew Gordon was talking about the same person who had appeared on the monorail.
"He was here, but he left before I could ask anything."
Just as Jim Gordon was about to ask more about the person, Batman had already left. Gordon could only sigh and take out his walkie-talkie to call for backup.
In the dark cave, the roar of an off-road vehicle sounded before the cave lights flickered on.
Bruce Wayne stepped out of the vehicle and removed his mask.
"Alfred, review my feed and check the details of the person with long hair."
Alfred looked at Bruce Wayne.
"Young Master Wayne, is he a new enemy or a friend?"
Bruce Wayne shook his head.
"I don't know, but he did help me today."
Alfred looked at the computer screen, which showed Sigurd.
"Then he may be a friend."
But Bruce Wayne was still shaking his head when he suddenly remembered something.
"Check the surveillance of the surrounding area. Jim Gordon mentioned someone who punched Dr. Crane through a wall. It might be the same person."
Alfred pulled up the surrounding surveillance and found the video where Dr. Crane attempted to spray his toxin on Sigurd, who showed no reaction and casually punched Crane through a wall without even looking back. Dr. Crane was left in very bad shape from the attack.
"Alfred, what do you think of this person?"
Alfred reviewed the video again.
"Young Master, this person looks very dangerous. If I had to guess, he does not value his opponents' lives. Either he has seen a great deal of bloodshed in his life, or he is so far beyond ordinary humans that he does not care for others. But it is better to be friends with this kind of person than to make an enemy of him."
While Bruce Wayne was deep in thought about Sigurd, Sigurd had already appeared in a different city.
He thought to himself,
This world's timeline seems very irregular, as if someone intervened during its creation. It feels as though different situations were forced together, yet the world does not feel unstable—only constrained, as if many limitations have been placed upon it.
Then he tried to sense the presence of the old gods in this world.
Oh, quite a number of old beings are here. It feels like this is the main universe. Could it be that something hidden in this world attracts so many powerful people? He tried to sense it but could not detect anything unusual.
Sigurd then suddenly thought,
Why do I feel something is attracting me in this world, yet I cannot sense its presence? I'll stay here for a few years. If my instinct is correct, I will benefit from it. If not, I will leave.
Just as Sigurd was thinking about how to arrange accommodations, he suddenly thought of Lucifer.
Lucifer should be able to get me proper identification here.
Suddenly, a portal appeared in front of Sigurd.
Lucifer stepped out.
"Sigurd, you didn't even invite me when you're roaming around in my world."
Sigurd shook his head.
"This time, I just wanted to spend some time alone, but you've come at the right moment."
Lucifer looked at Sigurd; his instinct told him Sigurd was searching for something, but he did not ask.
"Okay, tell me what you want me to do."
Sigurd looked at Lucifer.
"I have a feeling something important may happen here—something that could be significant for me. I plan to stay for a few years, so I need your help with identification and accommodation."
Lucifer looked at him, then thought about the events in this universe.
"I don't sense anything unique in this world, but fine—I'll arrange for someone to take care of it."
At the same time, in the Void.
The One Above All and The Presence observed the world where Sigurd and Lucifer were speaking.
"You were quite correct about him. He can sense upcoming danger; his instincts are remarkably sharp."
The Presence spoke, then looked toward the One Above All.
The One Above All shook his head.
"The upcoming trouble is not the main point. I deliberately left it to test whether he could detect it or not, and he still retains his former nature. Although he lost his power, his instincts remain quite powerful."
