Chapter 139: Gion's Trouble, Shendu's Awakening

"AAAAAAHHHH!!!"

A shrill scream pierced the clouds.

"My hand! My hand!!"

"Pick up my hand!"

Arlong's face was twisted in agony, but he remained immobilized, forced to watch his severed arm fall onto the deck.

On the sea below, Hatchan, Kuroobi, and the others turned pale with fright.

"Big Bro Arlong?!"

"What... what did that guy do?!"

Doflamingo seemed to find the noise a bit annoying, furrowing his brows slightly.

"What an unpleasant sound."

"I originally wanted to keep you for amusement, but you've wasted too much of my time."

"That man named Blake... if I make him wait too long and he raises the price, what then?"

Doflamingo's fingers moved elegantly in the air, like he was playing a piano.

Parasite.

Penta-Chromatic Strings.

"Since you are fish, let's just slice you into sashimi."

"Fufufufufu!"

Accompanying a hair-raising laugh, Doflamingo swept his hand down violently.

Five threads, barely visible to the naked eye, swept across from top to bottom with a screeching sound as they tore through the air.

In that instant, time seemed to stand still.

Arlong's screams came to an abrupt halt.

Immediately after, the pirate ship with the sawshark figurehead split neatly down the middle.

Not broken.

But sliced.

Along with the mast, the deck, the cannons, and those fishmen who hadn't even figured out the situation.

Everything turned into neat chunks under this single strike.

RUMBLE!

The massive wreckage of the ship crashed into the sea, splashing waves high into the sky.

The seawater was instantly dyed a piercing crimson.

Arlong's head, still wearing an expression of horror, rolled to Hatchan's feet.

Until his death, he didn't understand why his proud racial talent was as fragile as a sheet of thin paper in front of this true Great Pirate.

"Ar... Big Bro Arlong..."

The surviving Hatchan floated in the bloody water, holding his head with six hands, his entire body trembling violently, lacking even the strength to flee.

Finished.

It was all finished.

The so-called Arlong Empire was annihilated here before taking even the first step.

On the Numancia Flamingo.

Doflamingo took out a white handkerchief and wiped his fingers, which weren't even stained with blood, with disgust.

"Trebol, handle the aftermath."

"I don't want to see this kind of trash floating around in this sea area."

Trebol sniffled, looking obsequious.

"Leave it to me, Doffy! Ne, ne, should we catch that octopus and make takoyaki?"

"Do whatever you want."

Doflamingo turned and walked back to the lounge chair, picking up his glass of red wine again.

He looked at the location marked on the chart ahead.

Foosha Village.

The mysterious place legendary for sealing the Golden Lion and making Marine Headquarters wary.

The slaughter just now was like swatting a mosquito to him; it wasn't worth his concern at all.

Fanatical light flickered in his eyes.

"The remnants of the old era are exiting the stage, and the clowns who overestimate themselves are mostly dead."

"Blake..."

"Let me see to what extent you can make this rotten world go mad."

.....

Foosha Village, Tavern.

Blake swirled the rum in his hand, the ice cubes hitting the glass wall with a crisp sound.

Several light screens that only he could see floated in front of him.

On the left screen, Kizaru was sticking his butt out behind a rock, wretchedly using light beams to ambush Garp.

On the middle screen, Shiki the Golden Lion was laughing maniacally in front of a mirror, admiring his scarlet Sharingan.

On the right screen, Dragon was running wildly in the rain with Yahiko, evading ninja pursuit.

"These guys are having quite a bit of fun."

Blake took a sip of wine, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly.

These were high-end dungeons costing a hundred million berries; if the experience wasn't good, it would ruin his reputation.

His gaze then shifted to the edge.

There, the screen displayed a "Beginner Dungeon."

"Wow, this looks bad."

Blake put down his glass, leaning forward slightly, staring at the screen with interest.

"Seems like the little lady Gion has run into some trouble?"

On the screen was a steel skyscraper soaring into the clouds.

And atop that skyscraper, a confrontation that completely crossed art styles was unfolding.

.....

San Francisco, Black Building Rooftop.

The night wind howled, and neon lights appeared exceptionally murky under the heavy cloud layer.

The air was filled with a nauseating smell of sulfur.

Gion stood at the edge of the rooftop, her Meito "Konpira" slightly unsheathed, thumb against the guard, staring gravely at the crumbling dragon statue ahead.

"Is this the one million berry beginner dungeon?"

Gion took a deep breath, her grip on the sword tightening.

CRACK!

An ear-piercing shattering sound exploded.

The stone shell that had imprisoned the demon peeled off like molted skin, revealing dark green scales and knotted muscles underneath.

An ancient, evil, and tyrannical aura shot into the sky like a volcanic eruption, instantly sweeping across the entire rooftop.

That oppressive feeling was in no way inferior to those Great Pirates of the New World.

In terms of pure malice, it might even be greater.

"Nine hundred years..."

A low, raspy voice squeezed out of the monster's throat, like two rusty iron sheets rubbing together.

"I, Shendu, have finally returned!"

BOOM!

The last piece of stone skin exploded.

A red-eyed dragon walking upright spread his wings and roared at the sky.

Flames of vengeance burned in his crimson pupils, and twelve talismans carved with zodiac animals orbited around him, emitting strange fluctuations of magical power.

That was the power of the complete twelve Talismans.

Shendu looked down at his claws, feeling the surging power within his body.

"Although Valmont that fool is greedy, at least he got the job done."

He turned his head, his emotionless vertical pupils locking onto the only living person on the rooftop.

A tall woman wearing a pink Marine coat with a long sword hanging at her waist.

"Hm? A rat?"

Shendu snorted a breath mixed with sparks, his voice disdainful.

"Although I don't know how you snuck up here, this Demon is in a good mood right now. Scram, mortal."

Gion didn't move.

Her Justice coat flapped loudly in the gale.

Observation Haki fully active, she sensed twelve distinct yet complementary massive energies within the monster before her.

Especially that life force; it was unreasonably vigorous.

"I am a Vice Admiral of Marine Headquarters, codename 'Momousagi'."

Gion slowly drew Konpira, the blade gleaming cold under the moonlight.

"Although this is not my world, since I have encountered an evil entity, there is no reason to turn a blind eye."

"Marine?"

Shendu paused for a moment, then burst into arrogant laughter.

"Hahahaha! What messy organization is that! Before my palace is built, you will all become my slaves!"

"Now, kneel!"

Shendu raised his hand abruptly, palm aiming at Gion.

Dragon Blast!

BOOM!

A scorching beam of fire instantly spewed out. It was the heat beam power granted by the Pig Talisman, combined with the dragon's innate high-temperature flames; its power was enough to melt steel instantly.

Before the beam even arrived, the terrifying heat wave had already scorched Gion's bangs.

"So fast!"

Gion's pupils constricted slightly.

This attack speed was almost catching up to Admiral Kizaru's lasers.

But she was, after all, an Admiral candidate.

Armament Haki: Hardening!

Pitch-black Haki instantly covered the blade.

"One Sword Style: Waterfall Breaker!"

Instead of retreating, Gion advanced. Konpira in her hand turned into a streak of pink light, slashing upstream against the flame beam.

RIIIP—!

The dragon fire, hot enough to melt gold and iron, was forcibly split open by this slash. It diverted to both sides, bombarding the billboard behind her and exploding into a sky full of fire.

Gion's figure passed through the flames, appearing instantly in front of Shendu.

"Slash!"

The blade aimed straight for Shendu's throat.

CLANG!

The sound of metal clashing resonated through the night sky.

Gion felt her hand go numb; it was as if Konpira had struck a piece of tempered steel.

Shendu had blocked this Haki-infused strike with just one claw.

"Decent strength."

Shendu grinned, revealing a mouthful of fangs.

"Pity it's not enough!"

BOOM!

Shendu flicked his wrist, and a massive force transmitted through, knocking Gion flying directly.

Gion flipped three times in the air, landing on her feet and plowing two deep furrows in the concrete floor before barely stopping.

She shook her slightly numb wrist, her expression growing graver.

"Not only does he have lasers similar to Admiral Kizaru, but also this monstrous strength..."

"Not finished yet!"

Shendu's eyes glowed red.

Rabbit Talisman, Superspeed!

Rooster Talisman, Levitation!

Whoosh!

The massive dragon body vanished instantly.

The next second, Shendu appeared above Gion's head, so fast not even an afterimage could be seen clearly.

"Die!"

The dragon claw slammed down with the force of ten thousand钧 (jun - ancient unit of weight).

Gion's Observation Haki screamed warnings.

"Shave (Soru)!"

Her figure blurred instantly, dodging the strike by a hair's breadth.

BANG!

The entire rooftop floor collapsed instantly. Debris flew, and the whole building shook violently.

"Can you only dodge? Little bug!"

Shendu laughed savagely, his figure flickering again.

Fast!

Too fast!

Gion gritted her teeth, pushing her Observation Haki to the limit, dancing Konpira into an impenetrable net of blades.

Ding ding ding ding ding!

Dense collision sounds rang out like popping beans.

In just a few seconds, the two had exchanged over a hundred blows.

Every collision was accompanied by sparks and shockwaves.

Gion grew more alarmed the more she fought.

This monster not only had great strength and speed, but his body hardness was astonishing; even Armament Haki struggled to cause deep damage.

"This is the difficulty of a one million berry dungeon?"

"Just what kind of monster did Admiral Kuzan encounter back then!!"
