Chapter 49 - Chapter 49. Cement Completed

These Soldiers were Eleglacia Heavy Armor Shield Soldiers specifically assigned to Hanna by Link.

They were loyal and reliable; with them assisting Hanna, Link was naturally at ease and had no concerns about any confidential information leaking out.

"Hanna, are you satisfied with this place as your workshop?" Link asked with a smile.

Hanna looked up, her eyes sparkling with excitement, and quickly replied, "Yes, Lord Link, it's very quiet here, just what I need. Oh, I've already acquired all the materials needed to make cement, and I'm currently working on making samples."

"Oh? Already started?" Link raised an eyebrow slightly, intrigued.

"That's right, I plan to make some samples first, and after confirming the plan is feasible, I'll report to you in detail. I didn't expect you to come to the workshop first," Hanna said confidently.

Link nodded slightly, his expression grave, "The matter of cement is of utmost importance, Hanna. The future transformation of the entire Winterfell City depends on it."

Hanna pondered for a moment, then said seriously, "Then you must ensure a large supply of materials. If Winterfell City is truly to be built with cement, the required quantity will undoubtedly be enormous. Relying solely on purchasing from merchants would make the cost too high, likely unbearable."

"You make a good point. Key raw materials must be firmly in our own hands," Link agreed profoundly.

"Also, the labor force is a big problem. From the firing of raw materials to grinding and sifting, to manufacture cement in large quantities without machines, every step requires a massive input of manpower," Hanna added.

Link nodded gently, not in a hurry to leave. Instead, he found a spot where he wouldn't disturb anyone and sat down, quietly watching the busy Soldiers, contemplating his future plans.

Clearly, when the time came for large-scale cement production, the capital investment would certainly not be a small sum.

This made the issue of funding even more pressing.

Winterfell City urgently needed to have self-sufficient, highly profitable industries to generate funds and lay a solid foundation for future development!

Link knew the importance of this matter and proactively brought it up with Hanna, wanting to hear if she had any unique insights or ideas.

"If you ask me, in this era, the wealth of nobles is undoubtedly the easiest to acquire. Luxurious and exquisite handicrafts, fragrant perfume, I believe, can all fetch satisfactory high prices in noble circles."

Hanna pondered for a moment before offering her suggestion.

"After all, ordinary commoners are already the targets of exploitation by those nobles; they have very little disposable wealth to begin with."

After speaking, she gently stroked her chin, falling into deep thought.

A moment later, her gaze finally settled on Fiora, who had been silently by Link's side. Then, as if something occurred to her, she looked at Link with determination, saying confidently, "Lord Link, you can rest assured and leave this matter to me! I've thought of an excellent method that will surely open up a stable source of income for Winterfell City!"

What method was it?

The answer was—packaging!

On this continent, the Elf Race had always been hidden deep within the dark and mysterious Monster Forest, and humans rarely had the chance to encounter them, let alone engage in trade.

Nobles would carefully treasure any Elf Race craft they occasionally acquired.

To say the Elf Race was rare and uncommon was no exaggeration.

And now, Winterfell City had Fiora, an Elven woman, residing here!

Why shouldn't Winterfell City seize this opportunity to turn Fiora into a "golden signboard" for its products, much like celebrities endorsing products in his previous life, proclaiming to the world: these are unique, precious crafts from the hands of an Elf.

As long as this highly appealing gimmick was publicized, how could those nobles, who were keen on showing off and competing, not take the bait?

"Good! Let's do it this way!"

Link also understood; this was indeed a good idea!

As long as the quality of the goods was guaranteed, and with Fiora, the Elf, as a living advertisement, there would be no fear of not making money!

As for whether the real Elf Race would know?

They lived deep in the Monster Forest and didn't come out; who could really tell what was real and what was fake?

"Soap, perfume, all can be well-packaged. We can say these are unique crafts of the Elf Race, and Winterfell City has established commercial cooperation with the Elf Race, making it exclusive to the entire Human Kingdom. A product worth one gold coin, we could even sell for ten gold coins," Hanna said with even more cunning.

Was this the brand premium of another world?

Perfect! Absolutely perfect!

...It wasn't until the afternoon that Hanna wiped the fine beads of sweat from her forehead and called out to Link.

"Lord, the cement is made!"

She pointed to the center of the area, where a Soldier was holding an iron shovel, vigorously stirring cement powder in a stone trough.

"Quick, bring over the river sand!"

Hanna turned to instruct two other Soldiers to mix the cement mortar in a ratio of three parts cement powder to one part river sand.

Since no iron powder was mixed into the raw materials, the prepared cement slurry was light in color, not the deep gray-black like cement powder in his previous life, but rather a grayish-white.
