Jessica's POV
Caleb stared at me with an expression that screamed disappointment and betrayal. The intensity in his dark eyes made my stomach twist with guilt, though maybe I was reading too much into his reaction.
"So this is how we end things," he said, his voice carrying a bitter edge that cut through me. "Perfect. I should have known better than to believe you actually cared."
His hands found my hips, fingers gripping the fabric of my dress as he pushed it upward. The cool air from the office ventilation system kissed my exposed thighs, sending goosebumps across my skin.
"Consider this my penalty for being naive enough to think you meant something."
His fingers hooked into my panties, sliding them down my legs until they pooled at my ankles.
