I wasn't sure why I needed to see Griffin, but the feeling was undeniable. It had been so long without a single glimpse of him, not even a whispered word reaching my ears through the silence.
When David revealed his father orchestrated the message, surprise hadn't been my primary reaction, though it lingered beneath the surface. The revelation struck me because I never anticipated his own flesh and blood would orchestrate such manipulation.
David had warned me about his father's dangerous nature. Was this the darkness he'd spoken of? What purpose could such exposure serve? By revealing their true nature, by pulling back the curtain on their inhuman world, what end goal justified the means? Did he seek to shatter the bond between David and me? But what motivated such interference?
Answers would come from David eventually, but first, this confrontation demanded my attention.
