The trial had concluded, and every Elder without a Council seat had been escorted from the Palace. Now came the task of examining the Beta office files that had accumulated during the chaos.
The workload proved lighter than expected. Herbert had already combed through the documents alongside her Squad members and the current Guardians, organizing everything with his usual efficiency.
Herbert approached our table with a stack of sorted files. "Five major cases require your direct attention. The Elders can manage everything else with Squad assistance."
He guided us through the lesser matters first. Most involved family disputes that local Alphas preferred to ignore. Some conflicts had festered for decades, others were fresh wounds, but all demanded resolution.
I nodded my approval. "The Elders are perfectly suited for these cases."
