The afternoon sun cast long shadows across the King's Chamber as I walked beside Uncle Patton toward our designated seats. My stomach churned with nervous energy, knowing this meeting would officially mark my transition into the Beta position, even though the ceremony hadn't taken place yet.
The Chamber itself mirrored the grandeur of the Throne Room but on a smaller scale. Rich tapestries hung from the walls, and the Elder seats were arranged like theater boxes on either side of the room. Each chair bore the same luxurious fabric that adorned the main throne, creating an atmosphere of solemn authority.
