Chapter 4
(At times we need to know who would love us if we were monsters but when we turn out to be actual monsters we are bound to wish that we never found out the answer. I watched them all leave as I became what I had been from the start. In that moment I knew that I had to find my own kind)
I turned around to look at that voice that spoke as if it thought it was prince charming. As much as I loved fantasy books, I was never okay with the idea of a damsel In distress having to be saved by some guy who had labelled himself prince charming.
"I can take care of myself darling. Please leave." I yelled.
"I don't think you can. He is not what you think he is. If you try to fight him then he will turn you into bits of shredded flesh." He yelled back just for the sake of being dramatic because he was clearly audible even without yelling.
For a moment, I was so grossed out by that and honestly a little scared that I lowered my fists just a little.
The perp saw through me and started his attack. His hands reached for my neck and I felt his nails sink into my skin. With only one hand strangling me he lifted me off the ground. I was so scared and shocked that even when I tried fighting back I clearly braced myself to lose that fight and horribly at that.
"How…. How…is he…. Doing…. That?" I asked chocking my feet kicking wildly.
"I told you princess, he is not what you think he is. Now do you think you need my help or should I leave and you have got this?" He asked threatening to leave, however, his fist was clenched and every time I flinched in pain it would get even more clenched.
"Yes please." I said.
In the next second he was by my side. The perp let go of me and I fell to the floor with thud. Perhaps I was hallucinating because I was half conscious at the time too but I could have sworn I saw something claw like. A battle that was blurred in my vision ensued. Darkness engulfed my cold body like a warm blanket.
I woke up in a room. It was a dark but very large room. I lay on a queen sized bed, perhaps it was royalty sized because it could fit two queen sized beds in it. I looked around the room. It was minimalistic ally furnished. Aside from the bed there was only one other furniture in the room, a bed side table. I did not know where I was or how I got there.
Flashes of what had ensued before I lost consciousness came back to me. At first I thought that perhaps I had dreamt of the whole thing but when I touched my neck I found band aids covering the part where nails had sank into my skin.
I got up and started walking towards the door. I was ready to leave before whoever it was that had saved me came back. I reached for the door knob but it turned before I touched it. I was puzzled. Had I gained powers? Like telekinesis? The door was pushed open and a figure walked in.
I quickly retreated and lay back on the bed, closing my eyes I pretended to be asleep. I heard footsteps walk towards the bed and stop over me. A shadow covered my eyes and then the voice from before spoke.
" I know you are not asleep." He said bursting my little bubble made of lies.
I refused to move an inch thinking that he was just messing with me to see if I was actually asleep or not.
"Miss telekinesis, wake up." He said holding in what seemed to be a chuckle.
Had I thought out loud? I asked myself. How did he find out that? My eyes popped open staring into his hoping to find some answers.
"I can read your mind." He said.
He then looked in my eyes as he pulled me closer to him by my waist towards him. Was he high? What was he on about? These questions crossed my mind but when he pulled me towards him, my heart skipped a beat. I now solely focused on him. He was pale skinned, had a sharp nose, his eyes were siren shaped, he had thin lips that complemented his face perfectly. His eyes were dark. They were void of emotions.
He pushed me away In the next moment.
"I came to check on you. I am glad that you are okay." He said turning his head to face the other direction.
Could he actually read my mind? What a silly thought! Of course he could not. No one can read another person's mind.
"Thank you for saving me earlier. I would have probably been shredded flesh if you had not saved me." I said trying to throw in the joke that he had made earlier about shredded flesh.
The smile that he had had since the first time we met was now gone. Replaced by a cold face. A face that I could not figure out. Perhaps that was the whole point of the face.
He did not chuckle at my joke. Instead he just nodded and looked me straight in the eyes.
"I just did what I had to do. Take responsibility for my actions. After all I am the one that brought you here. It was a mistake on my part. A human does not belong here. Close your eyes. I will take you home in a second and you will forget everything."
This words made no sense at all, so I just stared.
"You are going home anyway so there is no need for me to hide the truth. I am a werewolf. I took you from your world and brought you here now I am taking you back."
