"Is this alright, Master?" Jeanne walked two steps to Shen He's side.
"Yes, it's fine like this." Shen He nodded. "Distance breeds authority. Besides, the reliability of these Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is only so-so. They can be comrades, but to confide in them would be foolish."
Having watched the entire series of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Shen He knew very well that a so-called agent's career was a dramatic sequence of suspicion, betrayal, blackening, whitewashing, and then blackening again. Ironically, even when they weren't betraying you, they still looked like they were ready to sacrifice themselves to save you at any moment.
He could only say that the agents' humanity was too complex for him; Shen He preferred to keep his distance.
"We cannot fully trust them?" Jeanne nodded, indicating she understood, and then looked at Shen He with an expectant expression. "Then, shall we begin preparations to depart?"
"...Prepare? Actually, there's nothing to prepare." Shen He smiled and shook his head. "We're going to have fun, not fight. Just bring a good mood."
"Then I'll go wake up Shiki and Violet." Jeanne, full of energy, walked towards the room.
Shen He watched her back as she left, standing there for a moment. He also made a few calls; preparations needed to be made, but it was enough to simply give the orders. After all, he had money.
A short while later, Violet, still in her pajamas, and Shiki, forcibly dragged over by Jeanne, appeared before Shen He.
"Shiki, I feel like you're not very enthusiastic," Shen He stated the obvious.
"That's right," Jeanne nodded repeatedly from the side. "Just now, Shiki was making excuses like 'I'm so sleepy' and 'I don't want to go,' but she's clearly full of energy."
"You could tell?" Shiki looked at Jeanne with an expression of disbelief.
She had been half-closing her eyes, her gaze unfocused, and deliberately making her voice hoarse. She could have easily pretended to have a cold.
It wasn't until Jeanne poked her lightly in the eye that she couldn't keep up the act.
"Of course," Jeanne said confidently. "Because on the battlefield, there are often children who want to feign illness to stay behind, and there are also children who are at their limit but still try to hold on. Accurately observing the soldiers' condition is a basic skill for a leader, so you can't fool me, Shiki."
"...Alright, I am feeling pretty good, I suppose." Shiki admitted absentmindedly.
Jeanne didn't know how to follow up with that kind of attitude, so she could only look at Shen He for help.
"Shiki, you don't know how to go out and have fun, do you?" Shen He smiled at Shiki.
"Go ahead and laugh if you want." Shiki glared at Shen He, clearly displeased. "I'm aware of the situation, alright?"
Even though she had been in this world for quite some time, for Ryougi Shiki, who had been reborn, even her own existence felt unfamiliar. This led her to focus solely on combat.
Taking someone who wasn't interested in anything out to play would seriously dampen the spirits of everyone else.
"How about thinking about what [Shiki (Alter Ego)] would do?" Shen He suggested. "You have the memories of both Shiki and Shiki (Alter Ego), right? Just try imitating her? Shiki (Alter Ego)'s personality is much more outgoing."
"...Like this?" Shiki slightly changed her posture.
Actually, it was just straightening her back a bit. But with that jade-like, porcelain-white skin, those deep, dark eyes, and the messy black hair that reached her shoulders, she immediately looked imposing. No, rather than imposing, it gave off a sense of tense danger.
"Yes, that's it." Shen He nodded with satisfaction. "Go change your clothes. We'll eat breakfast outside. I'll call out Kusuo first."
Lelouch couldn't come because he had to accompany his sister, and he didn't have Kusuo Saiki's ability to travel through time.
Shen He sent a summoning request to Kusuo Saiki,
Kusuo quickly appeared before him, but— "Kusuo… Kusuko?" Shen He widened his eyes, staring at the pink-haired girl in front of him.
She was still wearing Kusuo's usual school uniform, but it had become a super-short skirt version, the form of Kusuko Saiki after the transformation.
"Because there's something only a woman can do." Kusuko looked down at herself. "But it only takes a second to revert."
A second…
Five seconds had already passed.
Kusuo Saiki was still in this state.
"My transformation ability is suppressed..." Kusuo Saiki was silent for a moment, then directly requested, "I'm going back."
"Wait—" Shen He didn't immediately agree to the request to return. "The reason you're in this form is because of the incident where your teacher was pranked with a love letter by a boy, right?"
"That's right..."
Kusuo Saiki was the type who was cold on the outside but warm on the inside.
Because he didn't want to see his responsible teacher embarrassed by the boy's prank, he transformed into a female to handle the matter. However, as soon as he transformed, Shen He summoned him over.
"I remember your transformation ability needs two hours of preparation," Shen He analyzed for Kusuo Saiki. "That means if you go back to undo the transformation and then come back, your teacher will only be ridiculed and mocked. We're just going out to play today anyway, so why not just play like this for the whole day? We can travel through time and space to solve the problem when we get back."
"...Your inner thoughts have already revealed your true feelings," Kusuko Saiki replied with a blank expression.
"I just think Kusuko Saiki is cuter," Shen He didn't hide it anymore, stretching out five fingers. "Five cups of system-produced Coffee Pudding, just for one day. Anyway, gender doesn't matter to you, right?"
"Five cups!?" Kusuko Saiki was immediately shocked. "You actually drew so much Coffee Pudding and didn't tell me."
"After all, I have ten low-level draws every day," Shen He revealed a smile. "How about it? It doesn't matter if you insist on changing back. Coffee Pudding will eventually be yours anyway, it's just a matter of giving it to you later."
Shen He's thoughts were actually very simple.
He didn't really find crossdressing characters cute, even though this was a true transformation.
But Kusuko Saiki had one advantage: freshness and approachability. This wasn't Kusuo Saiki's world; there wouldn't be a bunch of people sticking to her like glue. The direct consequence of her expressionless personality was that Kusuko basically didn't interact with other Servants. Even though she was the first Servant, she seemed like an outsider, out of sync with the increasingly large team.
Apathetic women and apathetic men give completely different impressions.
Kusuko Saiki fell silent, hearing Shen He's true thoughts.
"Th-this… who is it?" A sudden cry of alarm came from nearby.
Jeanne stared at Kusuko Saiki with wide eyes. Shiki had a similar expression, and even Violet's mouth was slightly agape. Three super beautiful girls gathered together, showing such expressions, it was a truly super visual treat.
Shen He felt as if he had heard a notification that the team's relationship was about to level up.
