Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: 3rd-Results

"I did what I set out to do but now that I'm done, I can't help but notice an obvious flaw. These entities have no will or sentience of their own. It makes me wonder if I was like this before gaining sentience or perhaps not?"

There is a slight difference between "Will" and "Sentience".

A "Will" can be described as something that has a "Purpose" without "Awareness", like a tool that serves a particular function without the tool itself knowing that it is a tool or what purpose it serves. For example, a key opens a lock, that is its purpose or function, but the key itself isn't aware, it doesn't know that it is a key let alone that its purpose is to open locks.

On the other hand, "Sentience" is "Awareness" of one's "Being" or "Existence", like how a living being knows that it is alive or dead or in any other state. For example, animals know that they are alive and must breathe, eat and etc to continue living or that if they neglect those actions, they will fie or at least start dying.

In conclusion a "Will" is "Existing" without being "Aware" of one's "Being" or "Existence" and can be attributed to inanimate objects while, "Sentience" is "Existing" with "Awareness" of one's "Being" or "Existence" and can be attributed to living beings.

"Since it has come to this, I might as well give them sentience myself because I can't be bothered to wait however long it would take for them to gain it themselves, if they can even gain it at all."

Having split its consciousness once more, IT saw an infinite number of possibilities with only one outcome where the "Entities" had sentience. IT had to give the "Entities" "Sentience" or they will never gain it themselves like It once had.

IT proceeded to give every single one of the "Entities" a "Sentience" as well as the knowledge needed for them converse with It and many other things.

(Let's try this again.) "Hear me, all of you-"

The "Entities" responded to Its call with a mixture of shock, happiness, reverence, respect and many other emotions. This was because they all knew just how superior the being calling out to them really was.

IT conversed with the "Entities" about how IT created them and how IT did so in the first place after which, they all talked about all sorts of trivial things.

The topic of the conversation itself was irrelevant. It was the fact that a conversation was taking place that was of importance to IT. After briefly looking at them, IT realized that some "Entities" resemble one another and decided to further give them distinctions.

"Head me all of you! I will give you all names to differentiate all of you from each other and further solidify your being. Initially your colours were enough to distinguish between you but, as more of you came to be, your colours became similar which is why I've decided to give each of you a name."

The names of the "Entities" reflected their respective colours. The reason for this was because IT judged that simple was best and decided to not overcomplicate things unnecessarily but rather choose the simplest method instead.

After all that, IT conversed with the "Entities" once more. Then at some point, IT thought that it was time to move things forward.

The "Entities" were also given the ability to create things that they themselves could imagine but without being able to give them "Sentience". This was because IT wanted to see and judge the individuality of the "Entities" among other things.

IT told them what to do and how to do it after which IT showed them with an example by creating a different "Entity", one whose shape was not spherical but had six equal square faces, twelve equal edges, and eight vertices (a cube) and the reason IT decided to create an entirely different shape was because….

"Now that you know what to do, why don't you try yourselves. You can even help each other if that's what you'd like."

And so the "Entities" begun working hard to fulfil their given task but unfortunately, most of the "Entities" lacked the creativity needed to satisfy Its expectations and only made copies of themselves which, to say the least, was not what It wanted.

(This is unexpected or maybe it is, and I just didn't want to acknowledge the fact that it may come true. Unlike me they can't conceptualize something from nothing and are bound by what they perceive or what they have already perceived. It is very disappointing to say the least but….)

Among them, were very few "Entities" who created unique objects as appose to just making a copy of themselves.

Cream created a light, soft and frothy mass with a delicate, cushion-like texture.

Gold created a rectangular block with smooth surfaces and sharp edges.

Aqueous created a flowing, shapeless form that ripples, swirls.

Amber created a fluid, ever-changing shape that dances upward in flickering tongues and curling wisps.

Aloe created a thick and fleshy long surface with spikes coming out from the sides.

(It looks as if there are a few amongst them who are quite capable. Always knowing the outcome was starting to bore me so I stopped looking for them every time I wanted to do something. This time I decided to do things without knowing how things would play out. I thought that it would have been a waste or a disappointment and that I would have had to rely on knowing the outcome again, but it seems that there's still hope.)

The reason behind IT creating a newly shaped "Entity" when demonstrating how to create them, was because IT wanted to show the other "Entities" not to limit their thoughts on 'what already is' but expand them on 'what can be'.

This was done to see if the "Entities" can grow further than what they already are without any help. Things continued on like that until….

"Things are going well or at least they were but now everything has become repetitive." (Although it's chaotic, the chaos doesn't serve to improve or bring anything interesting. At this point it's more like a nuisance. Perhaps I should start moving forward…. The question is how?)

But as IT continued to talk with the "Entities" and shared their experience's, IT also realised something. The environment, if you could even call it that, was just countless energy balls and shapes floating in an empty space with no pattern or order on how they did things, though that's to be expected considering that they all think for themselves and thus, could not be expected to do the same thing.

"I've accomplished my goal again and yet I still don't feel any different from before. I can talk to the others now rather than just myself, but things are too chaotic with all of them talking at the same time about different things, it feels a bit unpleasant. But compared to before when I was alone, I was bored but now I'm feeling a bit proud of my accomplishments and also disappointment at what I could accomplished had I found the perfect outcome. More importantly, I feel a sense of comfort being with them, chaos and all."

(What I need to do is create systematic order to things and replace this needless chaos.) "I need to properly plan out what I want and how to make it rather than just doing it based on impulses like I have been before, but to do that…."
