Chapter 3 - Psycho-tic

A bald man is running away from a Zubat in the outskirts of Mt. Silver. Why is this so? Was the Zubat minding its business? Was the man being a dick?

The answer is: the man himself challenged the Zubat. But there are key differences, he would argue.

A) One, this man is actually a reborn twelve-year-old.

B) He's been having regular workouts and been learning how to run and hide from potential revenge from Team Rocket. Some say he's paranoid since no one's come for him in 7 years. But you never know!

C) He's been a psycho who constantly does things such as burn himself and poison himself in small doses. This is not because he desires self-harm. Far from it, constant enough poison, he'd wildly argue, has actually improved his immune system, and he hasn't been sick for a long time. It's just that many burn heals and antidotes have slowly drained his savings.

D) His black buzz cut arises from his desire to be more incognito and involves personally dyeing his hair.

E) And perhaps more critically, he doesn't have any Pokémon.

The reason he's done all sorts of things is because of one main word: aura.

If Pokémon are creatures that have learned to channel aura, can't humans do the same? The books about channeling energy have been perused and studied under a microscope on a level of detail and comprehension far more needed than a trainer, but close to involving research papers, only this one doesn't have Pokémon to train with.

You might think I succeeded. I have not. Transmigration is already enough of a cheat as it is. But this psycho decided to try just one more thing in his stubbornness. Combat.

So if you're ever reincarnated and happen to ever see a bald kid running away from a Pokémon, just know that aura is not easy to learn.

Back to the story, the boy is running toward the station of Officer Jennys with all sorts of purple scratches from the toxic scratches earlier. Initially the Zubat tried to be kind and drive me away from a few toxic spikes. There might be stories of children being arrogant before circulating amongst Pokémon, but I came prepared with earplugs, and my previous constitution allowed me to not only resist both, but my sharp tongue got it to finally take the fight seriously.

Once it did, it was still arrogant. It tried to tackle me from the sky, but I was not one to take a hit standing. I rolled instinctively out of the way while grabbing a bunch of dirt on the floor and throwing it down its mouth while yelling "Sand Attack!"

This has worked on other Pokemon usually below level 10, specifically It has worked on other Pokémon, for it tends to get in their eyes; unfortunately, Zubat doesn't rely on sight and seems to be above the threshold or at least is competent enough to only be angered by the dirt in its mouth. Not only had it never Seen someone so shameless, but also it had never fought a human before.

However, pride was ingrained in the creature's bones. How could it ever get any Zubat hoes if it was known to have lost to a 12-year-old kid without a Pokémon in sight?

So since pride cometh before the fall, with range attacks of poison not working at all, close quarters was the way to go.

It seems both parties have realized that it's time to stop running and have their final showdown. A faint breeze happened to pass by, and its end signals the Zubat to finally come down with a body slam. The boy's eyes widened at the cunning Zubat's ability to hide such a trump card, but on further notice he realized it's not the move Body Slam itself, but simply an actual prelude to gaining momentum for a tackle. As such, when he's mid-dodge, instead of completely getting out of the way, he decides to plant his right foot early and drop his shoulder to "check" the Zubat with every reflex he has. The Zubat ended up getting bodied before being kicked away like a puppy afterwards, while the boy let out a disappointed sigh.

Most Pokémon usually give up after the dirt attack in their eye; seemingly, the friendly relationship has dulled their sense of urgency for strength and hunger/greed.

Their hunger for greed, strength, life, fights, or any of the above had vanished. Hunger is a form of natural drive that this boy was looking for on his own. Quite frankly, it's rarer than you think. In such a peaceful world, why exactly would one want to train until they drop? The whimpering Zubat on the other side of the field has made it all the more clear that everyone's grown soft. Still, at least it makes it easier to interrogate.

"Do you know of any baby Pokémon that are trying their hardest to get stronger?"

Instead of shivering in fright, the Zubat seemed to realize I meant it no harm in such a peaceful world.

Therefore, when it tilted its head and started thinking, the boy got excited.

When it signaled the boy to follow it, he anticipated.

Finally, when it led the boy to a family of 3 that included 2 Hitmonlees lying around and a Tyrogue continuously kicking a tree with bruises and no bandages, that boy felt like destiny punched him square in the face.
