Chapter 495 - The Divine Stick

"A curse?"

When Lex heard 'curse', he immediately thought of 'Witches', recalling the files he had read and the 'Witches' he had seen with his own eyes. He knew these 'Witches' were adept at curses and spreading diseases.

Could there be a Witch on Sea Island, and was Mr. Bugade's illness because he had been targeted by a Witch?

Lex suddenly had an urge to pack his things and leave the Sea Island.

Kardashian continued, "The mistress has already invited all the doctors they know, don't know, and can reach, to examine Bugade, but there have been no results."

"Finally, she turned to the witch doctor on the island. That witch doctor believes Bugade has been cursed, and tomorrow, that witch doctor plans to treat him."

So the curse was mentioned by the witch doctor, then it's fine. Lex relaxed. In his mind, witch doctors were similar to charlatans. However, the truth would only be known tomorrow after the doctor arrived and examined him at the manor.

The next afternoon, the doctor arrived, and Lex waited at the old dock in advance. As soon as he saw the doctor, he got into the already prepared carriage with him.

Arriving at Bugade's manor again, Lex saw the two Gatekeepers from yesterday.

"Sir, you've come again." The gatekeeper noticed there was an extra person today. "This is?"

Lex cleared his throat, "This is the doctor I specifically invited, Mr. Polly. Mellon. Please inform the madam that Mr. Polly will cure Mr. Bugade's severe illness."

A moment later, Lex met the mistress of the manor, Madam Nikola.

Bugade's wife was much younger than Lex had imagined, appearing to be only twenty-six or twenty-seven. However, this young madam had been overworked recently due to her husband's condition, and she looked a bit tired, with slight dark circles under her eyes and dull, lusterless skin.

She received Lex and the two others in the living room, surrounded by servants.

"You are?"

Lex took off his hat and bowed slightly, "Good afternoon, beautiful madam, please forgive my unannounced visit. I am from Intis, and I have something to consult Mr. Bugade about."

"But I heard he was ill, so I brought the best Medic. Doctor Polly will surely be able to cure Mr. Bugade."

Madam Nikola looked at the cold-faced Medic with some disbelief, "If it's a doctor, they probably can't cure my husband's illness. These past few days, I have already hired several doctors, but they were all helpless."

Lex glanced at the Medic, and Polly. Mellon nodded, looking at the young, beautiful madam before him and said, "Madam, if I cannot cure Mr. Bugade's illness, then you will at most waste an afternoon."

"But if I could have cured him, and you missed the chance because you didn't try, wouldn't that be a regret?"

Madam Nikola hesitated, "This…"

Just then, a sinister, hoarse voice rang out, "Mr. Bugade is not sick, but cursed. Can you, a doctor, cure a curse?"

A short, dark-skinned old man walked in. He wore a crown woven from grass vines and feathers on his head, and his face, chest, and arms were painted with strange totems in red and blue oil paint.

Behind the old man followed two locals, who looked devout and had infinite trust in the old man.

Madam Nikola quickly stood up, "Good afternoon, master Kaman."

She introduced him to Lex and the two others, "master Kaman is a respected witch doctor on Simim, and also a master in the field of mysticism."

Lex curiously activated his Spiritual Vision, looking at the old man, and found that his aura was dim, and he had digestive System problems, not at all like an Beyonder.

master Kaman looked up at the Medic, "You say you are a doctor, but why have I never seen you? I generally know all the doctors on the Rorsted Archipelago."

The Medic responded indifferently, "I only recently arrived in Bayam."

"So you are a doctor from Bayam, then where is your clinic? What kind of patients do you usually treat?"

The Medic stated calmly, "My clinic is near the Red Theater, and most of my patients are the ladies from the Red Theater."

Hearing this, Nikola's expression became a little unnatural, and master Kaman sternly said, "You are just a doctor who treats those prostitutes from the Red Theater. Where do you get the confidence to cure Mr. Bugade's illness? This is simply absurd!"

This master looked at Nikola and said, "Madam, since you have already invited a doctor, it seems there is nothing for me to do. Goodbye."

Seeing that this master was about to leave, Nikola quickly tried to keep him, "Please wait, master Kaman."

The young madam looked at Lex with a troubled expression, "Gentlemen, I appreciate your good intentions, but perhaps you should return for now? If there is a need for you, I will send someone to invite you back."

Lex smiled and said calmly, "master Kaman, you are also a master in mysticism?"

This charlatan looked to the side, not answering, when suddenly he caught sight of something sparkling out of the corner of his eye. He instinctively looked over and saw that Lex's hand, at some point, had an extra small bird.

A small bird condensed from pure flames.

Kaman's eyes widened, then he saw the firebird hopping on Lex's arm, then flying up, occasionally landing, incredibly agile, as if alive.

"Since you are a master of mysticism, do you know what this is, and do you know who I am?" Lex narrowed his eyes slightly, mobilizing his spirituality, causing crimson flames to float around him.

Kaman saw flames erupting around Lex, felt a bit scared, and took a few steps back, "You, who are you?"

"Heh heh, you don't even know who I am, yet you dare to call yourself a master?"

"Open your eyes and look carefully, I am a favored one of the God of Fire. People like you, full of lies, will all be punished by scorching flames, and will all be burned to ashes in the raging fire!"

As he spoke, the firebird in Lex's hand flapped its wings and flew out, suddenly the firelight surged, expanding rapidly in front of Kaman, transforming into a standing, clawing, roaring giant bear.

This giant bear, formed from flames, let out a roar, its firelight blazing brightly, stinging the old man's eyes, and frightening him so much that he fell backward onto the ground.

Then the fiery giant bear slowly circled behind Kaman, exhaling breath with sparks from its nostrils, blowing on the old man's neck.

The old man could feel the scorching heat from behind him, then heard Lex's voice say, "Tell me, tell Madam Nikola, is Mr. Bugade really cursed?"

The old man immediately rushed towards Lex, prostrating himself on the ground, trying to kiss the tip of Lex's shoe.

Lex drew back with a look of disgust, Kaman dared not protest, and raised his head, shouting, "I was wrong, Favored One. I just wanted to take the opportunity to earn some money. There is no curse, no curse, it was all my nonsense."

Nikola's eyes widened, unable to believe that the master, who was always respected, was actually a fraud.

Her chest heaved with anger, and she pointed at Kaman, shouting, "Get him out of here!"
