Chapter 492 - Reward

From Miss Apothecary, Lex received two bottles of potion, one for external use and one for oral consumption.

The important thing was that these two bottles of potion were free! Free!

After using these two bottles of potion, the burns on Lex's arm were greatly alleviated, and Miss Apothecary guaranteed that they would heal within a week and leave no scars.

So now, with nothing to do on the ship for the time being, Lex, after bumping into Boatswain Roger, was dragged into the dining hall for a drink.

Besides the two of them, Edward, Frank, and Quincy were also in the dining hall.

Quincy, however, sat further away, drinking in silence by himself, while the others sat closer together, forming a circle, joking and relaxing.

As they talked, the conversation turned to the recent Feysac attack.

Boatswain Roger lightly held a bottle of wine with two fingers and said, "Do you know, while we were busy stopping the Feysac fleet this morning, the Intis Republic, Lenburg, and the Feynapotter Kingdom all stationed troops on their borderlines."

"Once the Feysac people made any move, they would definitely attack. I bet that even if the Feysac fleet had successfully attacked Pritz Harbor this morning, their airship formations in their home base would never have dared to move rashly."

Edward asked in surprise, "How would Intis and the other countries know about the Feysac Empire's actions?"

Roger picked up the wine bottle and took a swig of strong liquor, "This is the credit of Military Intelligence Section 9. Their spies and secret agents in other countries spread rumors that the Feysac Empire would use an airship fleet to attack their territories, making it known to everyone."

Lex smiled slightly; it seemed Military Intelligence Section 9 had adopted his suggestion.

Speaking of which, in this incident, although he was not the Commander, he was the one who discovered the Feysac plan, suggested that the Wavebreaker and Golden Dream seek cooperation, proposed using pirates to delay the Feysac fleet, and suggested spreading rumors in other countries.

Finally, he was also the one who framed the opposing demigod, causing Confusion in the temporary base's command.

Under the series of Conspiracies intentionally or unintentionally orchestrated by Lex, the Feysac plan ended in failure. And the feedback generated by this incident significantly digested the Conspirer potion.

The remaining portion could be fully digested in not much time, even without orchestrating another similar Conspiracy.

Next, I need to actively collect materials, and also find that data officer of the Iron and Blood Cross Order to clarify whether advancing to Sequence 5 Reaper requires a corresponding ritual. Lex quietly put this matter at the top of his priorities; advancing his Sequence and enhancing his strength was always the most important thing.

Thump, thump, thump.

A Sailor jogged into the dining hall, saw Roger, and straightened his back: "Report!"

Roger cleared his throat, "Right now, we are not the Navy."

This Sailor might be new and couldn't change his Soldiers' habits. Hearing this, he quickly relaxed and said, "Boatswain, the Captain is looking for Lieutenant Lex and the others."

Roger nodded and said to Lex and the others, "Go on, if I'm not mistaken, it should be to commend you."

Captain's Cabin.

Lex and the four others successively entered the room and saw Captain Ken Angus, who was chewing on a cigar, reading a letter. Seeing Lex and the others arrive, the Captain put down the letter, stood up, and said.

"Congratulations, your outstanding performance in this mission has been highly satisfactory to the higher-ups."

"The contributions you have made have basically paved the way to the next Sequence. Yes, as long as you fully master the current stage of the potion, the potion for the next Sequence can be provided to you at any time."

"However, Quincy and Edward, you have just advanced, and it will take some time to fully master the current stage of the potion."

Lex wasn't very clear about Quincy's situation. But when facing that Feysac officer at the time, Edward clearly dragged the opponent into a dream, making Lex suspect that he had already completed his advancement and was already a 'Nightmare'.

Now, this was confirmed by the Captain's words.

"Besides the potion, all of you will receive a bounty. I will tell you the specific amount later."

After a round of commendations, the Captain indicated that they could leave, but when Lex was about to go, Ken called him back.

After the others left the Captain's Cabin, Ken Angus took out a box from a drawer, opened it, and took out some items.

Lex saw that it was a badge and an identification document.

The Captain pushed the badge along with the document forward: "This was just sent by a messenger from above. I have to say, the efficiency of the higher-ups is quite fast."

"Then congratulations, Major Lex, you are the fastest person I have ever seen to be promoted from Lieutenant to Sublieutenant. Damn, I'm even a little jealous of you, but you deserve it."

"Hold onto your badge and document; you will need them."

Ken Angus's words made Lex feel like he was dreaming.

I've been promoted to Sublieutenant?

I'm already a Navy Sublieutenant?

He looked at the Captain in disbelief. After a few seconds, he finally exhaled and took the badge and document.

The badge in his hand had a dark blue background, with a vertical longsword in the center. If its hilt were a ruby crown, then it would be the 'Sword of Judgment'.

However, the 'Sword of Judgment' is the Augustus Family's emblem, not something just anyone or any department can use casually.

So, this rank insignia used a common longsword pattern. Behind the longsword was a sailing ship, representing the Kingdom's Navy.

At the top center of the badge, a silver Star was embedded. A silver Star is the symbol of a field officer; one Star represents a Sublieutenant, two Stars a Commander, and three Stars a Colonel.

If it were a golden Star, that would be a general's Star.

As for the document, it contained Lex's complete personal identification information, along with the steel stamp of the Naval General Office and the seal of the Kingdom's Royal Family, all of which could not be forged.

Lex looked at these two items, thinking that he had finally taken a big step towards his goal.

"Besides that, you can take your field officer's document to the Naval General Office in Backlund to claim a bounty."

Ken Angus paused, then revealed a staggering figure: "The total bounty is fifty thousand pounds. My goodness, fifty thousand pounds, I've never seen so much money. I have to say, you truly are a lucky fellow."

"Finally, you get a period of leave. You can go home and spend the New Year with your Family. After the New Year, you'll have to report to the Naval General Office in Backlund. They will arrange a sailing ship for you, perhaps not as large as the Wavebreaker, but it shouldn't be small either."

"They will also arrange Sailors for you. You can choose core members from the Black Sail's archives, or recruit them yourself."

"Yes, when you return to the Sea, you will be Captain Lex, a Captain under Iron-Blooded Commodore!"
