Chapter 463 - Whisper of Depravity

"Good morning, Mr. Harry."

Lex smiled and said, "Mr. Abbott has already sent the revolver over? That's great news; I came for it."

With that, Lex took out a box and placed it on the counter: "This is Mr. Abbott's item. Please return them to him for me."

"No problem."

Harry squatted down and rummaged through a drawer behind the counter, pulling out a small black leather case.

He opened the case and, with some effort, took out a rusty iron box, placing it on the counter.

"The item is inside. Mr. Abbott also included an instruction manual; you can take a look yourself." Harry finished speaking, then turned to grab a few dried fish and walked out from behind the counter to feed the cats.

Lex opened the box to find a uniquely styled, rugged-looking revolver, covered in scratches and rust, lying within.

It was entirely black iron in color, with many peculiar patterns and spikes, giving it an somewhat sinister appearance. Its barrel was so thick it didn't resemble a revolver, but rather an automatic pistol familiar from Lex's previous life.

Lex tried to pick it up, feeling its heavy weight, and could imagine that the bullets it fired would undoubtedly be immensely powerful.

Inside the box was a folded instruction manual. Lex unfolded it and saw lines of scrawled handwriting.

'fallen whisper: This is a weapon crafted from the 'Demon' beyonder characteristics you provided. It retains several abilities. Let me think… Oh yes, they are 'Demonization', 'Malicious Perception', 'Corrupted Bullet - Slow', and 'Corrupted Bullet - Fall'.

'Demonization' allows you to transform into a demonic creature. In this state, your body's strength and melee combat abilities will be enhanced, and the effects of other demonic abilities will receive a slight boost. However, at the same time, abilities from the ''Sun' Pathway' will cause greater damage to you in this state.

'Malicious Perception' allows you to sense, detect, and pinpoint the source of danger, and who it originates from. This is an intuition-like ability. I haven't tested it yet, so I don't know the effective time and range of the intuition. You'll have to experiment with it yourself.

'Corrupted Bullet - Slow' will transfer the corruption and fallen power of a demon onto the target through the bullet. This ability will cause the movements of a target hit by the bullet to become stiff and stagnant, but only for about two seconds.

'Corrupted Bullet - Fall': It can create an area-of-effect attack, causing the target and the surrounding area to show a tendency towards abyssalization. It can pollute and corrupt certain abilities, weakening their effects, such as substitution Spells.

As for the negative effects of this item, based on my tests, it will make you unconsciously cold-blooded and insane. When I used it, I had an urge to kill everyone around me.

Additionally, it will constantly whisper in your ear, distracting you and making it difficult to concentrate.

I believe its negative effects are not limited to these. Due to time constraints, I haven't conducted more in-depth tests. You'll have to figure it out yourself. This is roughly the situation with this item.'

After reading Abbott's 'instruction manual', Lex shook his head. This Artisan was really careless in his work; the negative effects weren't fully tested, and the user had to delve deeper into understanding them.

This service attitude was a bit perfunctory.

As for the abilities of this revolver, it didn't retain the 'Demon's' offensive capabilities, but 'Malicious Perception' and 'Corrupted Bullet - Fall' were very practical.

The former allows the wielder to perceive malice directed at him, to grasp where the danger originates from and who it originates from, enabling effective evasion and retaliation.

The latter can cause the target and the surrounding area to show a tendency towards abyssalization, weakening the opponent's abilities and greatly reducing the effectiveness of substitution Spells.

As for 'Demonization' and 'Corrupted Bullet - Slow', they were not as practical for Lex.

'Demonization' was decent for enhancing the effects of demonic abilities, but it was countered by items and abilities from the ''Sun' Pathway'. If he encountered a Beyonder or item from the ''Sun' Pathway', this ability would be useless.

As for 'Corrupted Bullet - Slow', before Lex advanced, it would have been a good ability.

But now he had the trap ability 'Shadow Mire', which had similar effects to 'Corrupted Bullet - Slow'.

"All in all, the abilities of this revolver are decent, but considering its negative effects, its cost-effectiveness isn't that high."

"Of course, that's for me. For others, its abilities are still very powerful."

"I'll use it for now. If I get something better, I'll replace it. By then, it should be able to sell for four or five thousand pounds, right?"

Lex put away the gun, paid a processing fee, and then left the clock shop.

Taking out his pocket watch to check the time, Lex decided to follow his pre-arranged itinerary and head to Champagne Manor to visit Siril, to inquire about the clues regarding the yellow-skinned man.

After leaving Grand Town, Lex took out the 'Thousand-Faced Traveler' mask and put it on. With a swipe of his hand across his face, he transformed into the bearded, stern-faced 'Duke'.

Champagne Manor, which Lex had set on fire previously, was currently undergoing reconstruction. After Lex reported his nickname, he was invited into a wooden house.

The wooden house looked simple from the outside, but the interior environment was not bad, with floors covered in thick carpets.

The hall was furnished with expensive furniture, statues, chandeliers, and oil paintings. It was unclear whether Siril was too wealthy or if the Antiquities Recycling Association had no shortage of money, as even a temporary residence was decorated so luxuriously.

After waiting for a moment, Lex heard a burst of laughter, and then Siril, wearing a thick winter coat, entered the living room.

"Good morning, Duke, my friend. I apologize, there's no fireplace here, so I have to dress like a stupid, clumsy bear in the forest."

Siril sat down on a sofa, looking at Lex with a smile, and lowered his voice, "I guess you're here to inquire about that fellow named Li Rui, or Lin Rui."

"Unfortunately, I don't have any news of him yet, or perhaps he's not on Sonia Island at all."

Lex hadn't held much hope for this matter, so he wasn't disappointed by the news. He nodded and casually said, "Is that so? That's truly a shame."

"I will continue to keep an eye out for you. If there are any clues, I will have Mr. Osweld notify you," Siril promised.

Lex nodded slightly, then looked out the window, towards the port: "I saw quite a few Feysac Empire warships anchored in the nearby sea at the port. Are there any military operations here recently?"

Siril frowned and said, "I'm not sure about that, but a few days ago, the official government of the Feysac Empire on the island suddenly started buying a large quantity of gems, all kinds of gems."

"Because they were overpaying significantly, I sold off a batch of gems from my collection and made a small profit. Eh, what's wrong? You look a bit unwell."
