Chapter 451 - Mythical Creature Form

On the Golden Dream, Edwina's gaze was the most unique. To get the best 'reward', Lex had been secretly observing Iceberg Admiral after entering the treasury.

After all, anything she took an interest in was definitely not simple. Seeing her now lost in thought over something, Lex followed Edwina's gaze and also saw the giant black iron key.

This thing was as big as a zither, impossible for a normal person to pick up; one could only carry it. It was dull, ancient in form, and had some peculiar patterns on its surface, not looking like a magical item.

Joking aside, what normal person would carry such a huge key around? No matter how magical, it would be too ridiculous.

"Captain?"

Lex walked up to Iceberg Admiral and softly called, "That key..."

"This is clearly not for humans. Only giants would use such a large key." Edwina immediately decided, "Jodeson, take that key."

Jodeson looked at the cabinet, saw the giant black iron key, and was startled, but he didn't voice any objections. He had another companion help him stuff the excessively large key into his backpack.

Even so, part of the key still protruded from the backpack; it was too huge to fit entirely.

Just as Edwina and her group were about to continue selecting some items to take away, they heard Danitz's exclamation from outside the door, followed by 'Blazing' rushing in frantically.

Jodeson frowned and said, "Why are you in here?"

"Evil spirit, there's an evil spirit outside! It came out of that snake-head statue on the wall, ah, it's here!" Danitz pointed to the treasury door, where a pale figure indeed appeared.

It was a black-haired man, dressed in Ancient Bailang attire, handsome but with an overall gloomy and unhappy expression.

Although he wasn't wearing a crown or holding a scepter, Lex recognized him at first glance!

Because his self-portrait was still hanging nearby.

He was the owner of the Nether Lord, he was the Nether Queen's Descendant!

He... was dead?

Lex rubbed his eyes, confirming that the man's figure was translucent, his eyes dark, and the temperature in the treasury noticeably dropped the moment he appeared.

Frost clearly materialized at his feet.

Without a word, without any buffer, the Nether Queen's Descendant spread his hands. Immediately, dark cracks appeared in the space around him, deep and black like an abyss.

From within, illusory dark liquid continuously surged, and pale, various-raced arms stretched out, frantically reaching towards Lex and the others.

Before those arms could reach Lex and his companions, large clumps of golden, clear flames appeared out of thin air, densely covering these arms, burning them to quickly retract, and an ear-piercing, illusory scream echoed from the abyss-like cracks.

After Lex released Light of Fire, he didn't pause. 'Devil May Cry' was unsheathed and slashed towards the Nether Queen's Descendant, who was clearly a spirit.

Suddenly, the man's surroundings lit up. A brilliant, majestic golden pillar of Holy Light descended from the sky, landing on him, immediately enveloping him in golden Sacred Light.

"Vanish."

Lex whispered like a prayer, "Please, disappear within this Sacred Light."

Unfortunately, perhaps because Lex hadn't prayed to a specific deity, within that blazing radiance, the Nether Queen's Descendant's figure not only didn't vanish but underwent some changes.

Hoo, hoo, hoo!

Within the Light, a non-human sound rang out.

Lex vaguely saw that on the Nether Queen's Descendant's spirit body, where the skin was exposed, dark scales seemed to be emerging. These cold, sinister scales brought to mind venomous snakes.

Immediately after, one after another, white feathers stained with light yellow grease grew from the gaps between the scales.

As these feathers quickly covered his hands and back, a deathly aura instantly rippled outwards, causing the Sacred Light falling on him to rapidly dim.

Within the pillar of Holy Light, pale flames burst from the Nether Queen's Descendant's eyes, and the Sacred Light falling on him swiftly dissipated.

At this moment, Lex heard Edwina exclaim, "Everyone close your eyes, do not look directly! This is an incomplete Mythical Creature form, but not yet a Demigod. Looking directly at a Mythical Creature form will be fatal!"

Hearing this, Lex quickly closed his eyes. It was his first time hearing about a 'Mythical Creature form', and his first time hearing that looking directly at such a form would be fatal.

Even though he had experienced many things, this time, he still felt fear.

This was no longer a problem that could be solved by courage alone; this was a difference in the height of life, a gap in the level of their respective statuses, difficult to bridge, difficult to offset.

But he still didn't give up. And at the first opportunity, disregarding the exposure of 'Devil May Cry''s true power, he infused his spirituality to activate an ability.

A Sequence 4 ability.

Holy Armor!

Instantly, Lex felt a warmth, as if bathing in the southern sun. Because his eyes were closed, he didn't see the golden light, like a tide, surging out of thin air in the secret chamber.

They gathered on Lex, forming a Holy Armor of Light on his body. The moment this armor appeared, a strong sacred aura immediately permeated and spread through the secret chamber, weakening the deathly aura emanating from the Nether Queen's Descendant.

The man, who had transformed into a Mythical Creature form, although still empty-eyed, looked towards Lex, attracted by the sacred aura emanating from the Holy Armor.

He raised his hand and clenched it in Lex's direction.

A giant, pale, eye-covered arm suddenly appeared in the Void. It instantly gripped Lex, intending to crush him to death.

But as the seven fingers closed, illusory green smoke immediately rose from the palm, and the eyeballs successively burst, spewing golden sacred flames.

An unreal scream echoed in the Void. The arm changed from gripping to flinging, forcefully throwing Lex away.

Lex kept his eyes tightly shut, not daring to open them. He only felt himself flying backwards, then hitting something heavy, and subsequently falling to the ground with it.

He crashed into the golden coffin, causing the lid to shift slightly, and immediately a wisp of white mist seeped out from the gap.

The white mist, as if sentient, twisted in the air for a moment, then suddenly converged into a thin stream and drilled into Lex's nose.

Lex only felt a coolness at his nostrils, like a cold wind blowing, but there was no discomfort, so he didn't pay it any mind.

He wanted to use 'Sun Flare', but this ability was area-based and required accurate knowledge of the enemy's position to avoid accidentally harming his companions. But at this moment, he couldn't open his eyes, and thus couldn't lock onto the Nether Queen's Descendant's position.

For a moment, Lex didn't know what to do.
