Lex, seeing that they weren't impulsive, continued with a relieved expression: "If you know his room, go there now, and you'll find something under the table in his room."
Lex deliberately didn't make his words too clear, nor did he tell Danitz what was under the pirate's table. This was to avoid raising any unnecessary questions from Danitz.
"When you give those things to the Captain, she will know what happened."
"You can even have the Captain try to control that pirate and, at a crucial moment, use him to transmit certain messages. For example, after obtaining the Treasure Trove, he could report to Tracy, falsely claiming our side suffered heavy losses, thereby luring the Admiral of Ailment to surface."
"Of course, what specific message to send will be decided by the Captain; she knows better what kind of message would be more advantageous to us."
Danitz nodded repeatedly, then said to Barrel and Iron Skin: "Let's go, we'll check his room."
"Wait."
Lex said calmly: "When you talk to the Captain, just say that you accidentally discovered this pirate acting suspiciously and furtively, so you investigated secretly and found those things."
"In short, don't mention me."
"Why?" Danitz asked curiously.
"Do you want me to compete with you for credit?" Lex countered with a smile.
Then he added: "Also, this matter involves the Admiral of Ailment. Back on the Black Death, I felt her gaze on me was off, like she wanted to pounce and eat me."
"Bullshit!"
"Narcissist!"
The three of them, Danitz, said in unison.
Lex said indifferently: "Anyway, I don't want to get involved with a 'Witch.' If she finds out I ruined her good deed, I won't be able to sleep or eat peacefully later."
"You're different. I believe that you, who are loyal enough to the Captain, the great Lord of Flame, wouldn't mind being targeted by a 'Witch,' would you?"
Danitz found this very useful, nodding and saying: "Rayleigh, I find you're becoming more and more to my liking. Alright, don't worry, we won't mention you. Even if the Admiral of Ailment ties us up, whips us, and drips candles on us, we absolutely won't give you away."
Barrel and Iron Skin also nodded in agreement, showing their loyalty.
Then they left the restaurant.
The yellow-bearded pirate's room wasn't hard to find. Soon, Danitz and the two others arrived at the bottom of the ship's hold. Unless they were Beyonder like Lex, pirates who had just joined the Golden Dream usually lived in the lower hold.
Even so, the Golden Dream's benefits were still better than other pirate ships. At least, even the lowest-ranking pirates could have a room to themselves.
Although such rooms were not spacious.
Pushing open the door, Danitz conjured a crimson glow on his fingertip, illuminating the room. He gave a look, and Iron Skin and the other rushed forward, moved the table aside, then squatted on the ground, lightly tapping the floor.
Soon, based on the sound feedback, they found the secret compartment and the box. They opened the box and discovered a classical-style mirror, inlaid with gems, which looked like something noble ladies and Young Misses would typically hold for touch-ups.
Seeing this mirror, they almost immediately believed Lex's words, because such a mirror should not appear in a man's room, let alone a pirate's room!
When they opened that box and saw the paste-like black substance inside, they became even more convinced.
After all, this thing clearly looked evil, very much like something a 'Witch' would use.
Danitz immediately closed the box, placed it in the case along with the mirror, and picked up the case himself: "Let's go, we're going to find the Captain!"
After Danitz and the others left, Lex finished his dinner and came to the deck, recalling the process of guiding the three of them.
"I'm still not mature enough. I shouldn't have let three people know about this. I should have only told Danitz. The fewer people who know about a Conspiracy, the easier it is to succeed."
"If I could drive the development of events without personally contacting Danitz, that would be the most perfect. But for now, I don't have that ability."
"However, Danitz didn't question where I learned about the mole, nor did Barrel and Iron Skin. That surprised me a bit."
"Although to ensure success, I tried to choose people with relatively simple minds to be my messengers, is this result due to the 'Obscurity' in mysticism taking effect, making my Conspiracy easier to unfold and implement?"
"Beyonder abilities are truly wonderful."
As Lex leaned against the ship's rail, feeling emotional, he saw Danitz and the two others rush into the restaurant. A moment later, angry shouts and exclamations rang out from inside, but very quickly, the yellow-bearded pirate was escorted to the Captain's Cabin by Barrel and Iron Skin.
On the deck, pirates crowded at the restaurant entrance, discussing animatedly, while Lex, as the instigator of the event, stood behind the crowd like a passerby.
This feeling of hiding behind the scenes, witnessing the events he orchestrated unfold, was very strange. He rubbed his nose and whispered: "This must be what they call the mastermind."
After the yellow-bearded pirate was taken to the Captain's Cabin, nothing further happened. Edwina did not offer any explanation. On the contrary, the pirate was soon released and quickly returned to work in the kitchen, as if nothing had happened.
But Danitz and the others were not angry about this; instead, smiles were on their faces. So Lex knew that Iceberg Admiral must have controlled the yellow-bearded pirate using some method.
Now.
Compared to the death god's treasure they were about to seek, Lex was more looking forward to seeing what kind of outcome his small Conspiracy would ultimately evolve into.

November 12th, monday.
Time had reached the middle of this month. According to the clues left by Adventurer Valen, at this time, by using his compass, one could find death's treasure on the Sonia Sea.
However, the Sonia Sea was so vast that even with that compass, Lex didn't believe they could quickly locate the important position of death's treasure.
On this day, Edwina stood at the bow, holding the compass, constantly adjusting the ship's course.
Strangely, when Lex first got this compass, its needle spun continuously, unable to point in any direction.
But once on the Sonia Sea, it returned to normal. Under its guidance, the Golden Dream sailed on the Sonia Sea for a day.
Just as everyone thought the day would pass quietly, in the evening, Edwina suddenly signaled to stop moving forward.
After the Golden Dream stopped, Jodeson and others came to Iceberg Admiral's side. Lex stood in the distance, watching from afar as Edwina turned the bow in several directions, then pointed to the east of the Sea and said: "The death's treasure is nearby!"
But looking in the direction the Captain pointed, everyone could only see the vast Sea; let alone a Treasure Trove, not even a Sea Island was visible.
However, Lex immediately thought.
The death's treasure might be underwater!
