Friday was a leisurely day for Lex; with no missions and no disturbances from out-of-control Extraordinaries or demigods, he was able to explore several elven ruins like a true tourist, guided by a local. However, one or two of these were clearly later forgeries. Although Lex was not a historian, he could still make a judgment based on the condition of the murals and some subtle clues.
He did not delve into the matter. True elven ruins were likely protected by the Feysac Empire, perhaps even staffed for research and interpretation. As a Beyonder who might have just provoked the Feysac military, Lex only wanted to stay quietly in Grand Town, not in some large prison.
Today, he also tasted a dish similar to 'blood curd', made from animal offal combined with various spices and grains, creating a unique flavor.
Furthermore, Lex witnessed the eating utensils created by the elves: chopsticks!
This gave him a strange sense of familiarity.
In the evening, Iceberg Admiral brought several pirates to Grand Town, but this time without Danitz and Jodeson. They replenished food, water, and medicine on the island as merchants.
In the evening, Lex took Edwina to the Wild Horse Bar and treated her to Grand Town's fregret wine.
After a sip of the golden liquid, Edwina watched the passionate and uninhibited Feysac beauties twisting their bodies on the dance floor and said in a rather indifferent tone, "After you left, someone was secretly monitoring us."
Lex's expression shifted. "Do you know who it is?"
Edwina gazed at the liquid in her cup and said, "It's unclear at the moment, but Jodeson went to investigate. However, to prevent any accidents, we will return to the Golden Dream tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?"
"Yes, tomorrow," Iceberg Admiral said with no fluctuation in her tone. "On monday, we will begin searching for the death god's treasure. If there's any tail behind us, we still have two days to deal with it."
"In that case, I'll have to miss next week's Tarot Club. I'll pray to Mr. Fool later tonight and explain the situation." Lex let his thoughts settle and nodded, "Alright, let's do that."
Edwina scanned Lex with her clear eyes. "You seem more confident. Have you been promoted?"
Such keen observation!
Lex was about to find words to prevaricate, but Edwina had no intention of hearing an answer. She drained her fregret wine in one gulp and said indifferently, "I'm going back first."
After she left, Lex also left the bar, but he returned a moment later, this time wearing the 'Duke's' face with a beard and stern expression.
When he and Edwina arrived at the bar, they had already noticed Siril was still busy. This member of the Antiquities Recycling Association was still working as a Bartender here, seemingly having not yet received news from Osweld.
Lex approached the bar, tapped the counter, and whispered, "A glass of sunia blood wine."
Siril smiled slightly. "It's me."
Lex was worried that there were still members of the Secret Order in the Town and that they might discover Siril, so he used the secret code to confirm again.
Hearing Siril say this, he relaxed and said, "The Treasure Map has already been sent away."
Siril said sincerely, "No wonder Mr. Osweld entrusted such an important matter to you, an field agent who just joined the Association. You are indeed very capable."
Lex smiled faintly, offering no response.
Siril poured a glass of fregret wine and placed it in front of Lex. "The Treasure Map has been sent away. You shouldn't just be here for a drink, right?"
"I want you to help me with something." Lex took the glass and took a sip, not daring to drink too much. He subtly glanced towards the restroom and sighed inwardly, "The glasses used by the bar are too big, a glass of beer is far too much!"
Siril's expression was relaxed as he wiped a glass. "Tell me about it. I can't guarantee I can help, but if I can, I won't refuse."
"Who wouldn't want to do a favor or two for a powerful person? Maybe I'll need your help in the future."
Lex chuckled, not disliking Siril's 'worldliness'. This kind of purposeful help, but with the willingness to speak frankly, Lex greatly approved of.
"I'm looking for someone, someone who came from an unknown Continent. What's certain is that he's not from the South Continent or the North Continent."
"He has yellow skin, black hair, a wider nose, and flat facial features. He might be named Li Rui, or Lin Rui; these are transliterations based on the pronunciation of his name."
"He might be in disguise. If you find him, don't alarm him. Help me monitor him. I'll be back in about a week."
Lex believed that with Siril's abilities and connections, if that 'compatriot' who might be from another Continent, or even a Transmigration, was on Sonia Island, Siril should have some findings.
If he didn't have enough information channels, he wouldn't have been able to escape from a Marionettist.
"No problem, I'm quite good at finding people. But next time, you don't need to come here. Just go to Champagne Manor to find me."
Siril said readily, his voice filled with confidence, which made Lex somewhat expectant.
"Your treat?" Lex finished the wine in his glass and shook it.
"Of course." Siril responded with a smile.
Leaving the bar, Lex rubbed his cheeks in the shadows, returning to his original appearance, then wrapped his coat tightly and hurried back to the hotel.
Upon returning to the hotel, he established a 'Spiritual Wall' to avoid having his prayer detected.
Then he quickly chanted the honorific name of Fool and said, "...Great Mr. Fool, due to some personal reasons, I will be unable to attend next monday's Tarot Club. I am very sorry."
"At the next gathering, I will report to you about the Secret Order incident."
He wanted to use this opportunity to sell the 'Sirens's clue' to the great Mr. Fool, believing Klein would need this clue, as he had not yet become a Marionettist.
Not long after, Lex saw the boundless gray fog and a blurry figure seated at the head of the long bronze table, nodding faintly.
The gray fog dispersed.
"This really has a lot of gravitas." Lex stroked his chin. "The mystical book doesn't even give me a similar function. Then I'll create a mysterious organization to play with."
With everything arranged, Lex took off his coat and burrowed into the cold bed. "If only I had an electric blanket."
Amidst his sigh, he vigorously shivered, and before long, the bed warmed up. Lex finally drifted into sleep.
The next day, the sun shone brightly.
He and Edwina returned to the Golden Dream. Jodeson had not yet returned, and with no work for the time being, Lex went back to his room.
Closing the door, he sat on the edge of the bed, looking out at the boundless sea. "I am now a Conspirer. What will the Conspirer's acting principles be?"
