Chapter 98 - Chapter 96: End of the Unwritten[8]

The silence that followed was heavy with the scent of ozone and the weight of burnt-out lives.

The Sect Leaders who had functioned as human anchors for the Sefirots collapsed. Having burned their very life essences to maintain distant connections to the divine, most were now nothing more than empty husks.

In the ruins of the Foggy Town, the Haoli Sect Master reached out a trembling hand toward Amanises before finally exhaling her last breath. The Evernight Goddess looked down at the fallen master with a gaze of cold starlight.

"Your duty is finished," Amanises whispered, her voice a shadow. "Now, I am the Haoli Sect Master".

['Star Will' has recognized your status!]

[You have acquired a new attribute 'Master of the Haoli Sect'!]

Klein-Amon and Kim Hajin stood amidst the cooling magma. They needed to reach the Essence of the Strait's command center immediately to stabilize the Astral Barrier.

"Spartan," Hajin commanded.

The Great Eagle manifested, utilizing his Authority to fold the distance between the mountain range and the laboratory in Seoul. As they were pulled through the spatial rift, Klein-Amon observed the process with clinical interest.

"Interesting," the Lord of Mysteries spoke, his voice a layered echo. "Your eagle's teleportation ignores the Spirit World entirely. It bypasses the 'logic' of travel".

"What do you mean?" Hajin asked.

"The Spirit World is a layer of reality; to traverse it is to navigate a sea of information and history," Amon's side added, his illusory monocle glinting. "This... this is a blunt rewrite of coordinates. More efficient, but far less subtle".

They materialized in the center of the Dimensional Entropy laboratory, right in the middle of a heated logistical war. Yoo Yeonha was at the center of the room, her eyes literally replaced by Won(₩) signs as she barked orders into a headset.

"I want every Beyonder Characteristic, every drop of divine blood, and every scenario reward brought to this center!" Yeonha shouted. "We are not losing a single gram of profit to the debris!"

A portal tore open beside her, and Empress Araha of Crevon stepped out. Yoo Yeonha immediately stopped her shouting and gave a sharp, professional bow. Araha offered a satisfied nod but wasted no time.

"We are waiting for the payment to be sent to the 8th Floor," Araha stated, her voice imperial.

"Earth will pay its debts, Empress," Yeonha countered smoothly. "But let's not forget that the 9th Floor disasters broke through your gates first back before Convergence. We provided the stabilization".

The two women stood locked in a high-stakes argument of debt and duty until Araha noticed the newcomers.

"I have guests," she noted, turning toward the Fool and the Extra.

Hajin stepped forward, interrupting the profit negotiations.

"We need the Entropy to maintain the Astral Barrier. If the mechanism bridges the 8th Floor and the Original Creator's barrier simultaneously, it will melt down in minutes".

Araha nodded solemnly. "Understood. The Crevon troops have finished their missions. But I have concerns".

Yoo Yeonha turned to her with a confused expression.

"Lü Bu and Red Angel were caught up in a battle with Demoness and their location is unknown. Persephone told me that Demoness brought them into Mirror World."

Klein's head was filled with worried thoughts:

'We need to deal with it later, I have a bad premonition,' Klein nodded, since he felt the same.

From merging with Amon, Klein knew that things were not as clear as it seemed. After all Red Priest and Demoness corresponded to one and only Above the Sequence — Calamity of Destruction.

Yoo Yeonha signaled to one of the scientists.

With a wave of her hand, the thousands of Crevon soldiers across the globe vanished, returning to the Tower.

Klein-Amon instantly moved, Grafting the Astral Barrier to the Dimensional Entropy. The massive machinery began to groan, the temperature in the room skyrocketing as it began to overheat.

"Not today," Hajin muttered.

[Random Consolidation System!]

[Processing... 77% Efficiency Reached!]

The system stabilized instantly under the "lucky" surge of mana.

Hajin then utilized the power of the Wheel of Fortune to write a prophecy upon the system's logic.

He created a loop, ensuring the system worked at maximum volume without degradation.

Klein-Amon felt the spiritual drain ease as the Entropy took the weight of the barrier.

However, the relief brought a new terror.

Star Will finally recognized that the stories Klein was using did not belong to him.

Klein-Amon was forced to dismiss the Stories of Kim Dokja he had pulled from the fog.

[Narrative Status is plummeting!]

As the Demon King status from the cane and the protection of Dokja's stories vanished, a third voice began to seep through the shared psyche of Klein and Amon. It was cold, ancient, and vast.

"Mine..."

It was the Celestial Worthy. Without the narrative volume to suppress him, the previous Lord of Mysteries began to awaken with terrifying speed.

Klein and Amon clutched their shared head, their blank mask cracking as they fought to retain their own souls against the tide of the ancient god.

'Is that how my father-brother felt when... Aish!'

'Shut up,' Klein and Amon argued inside their own head.

Klein didn't want to remember that disgusting kind of relationships Amon had with Adam.

[You have received a new Giant Story 'The Error that Fooled the Apocalypse'!]

The new Giant Story began to weave itself into their essence, its sheer narrative volume acting as a buffer against the rising tide of the Celestial Worthy's psyche.

The stories Klein and Amon had gathered individually began to resonate and resist the ancient will.

[Narrative Status reached!]

[You have earned the qualifications of the ■■!]

A series of rapid-fire system alerts signaled the evolution of their very nature as they accommodated the three Uniquenesses (Fool, Door, and Error).

[Your attributes are evolving!]

Klein instinctively reached out to his Status Window.

Two of his attributes 'Master of the Spirit World' and 'Sefirah's Vessel' were nowhere to be found. Instead a brand new one was at the top:

[Lord of Mysteries]

The synchronization rate between Klein and Amon accelerated toward its tipping point.

As they achieved the status of a Great Old One, Kim Hajin focused his intent, blessing with a surge of absolute Good Fortune.

Simultaneously, on the surface of the distant Chaos Sea, the prophecy envisioned by the newly stabilized Adam manifested in glowing, ancient script, reinforcing the Lord of Mysteries' existence.

['Stone of Convergence' is worsening your mental state!]

Yet, the tug-of-war was not over; the Celestial Worthy still roared in the depths of their mind, demanding they finalize the merge to survive his awakening.

"Hajin, I need to stabilize our state. Pray to me if you need anything."

"Our..?"

The next second Klein-Amon disappeared in the void of Spirit World.

[True God 'The Fool' thanks for your help.]

Suddenly, the air beside Hajin rippled as Sun Wukong materialized, splitting away from his body.

Yoo Yeonha let out a small shriek, her eyes wide as she instinctively clutched her tablet.

"Easy, little lady," Wukong laughed, his golden eyes dim with exhaustion.

He turned to Hajin.

"Maknae, it's time for me to go. I need to regain my powers on the Reincarnation Island with Shakyamuni".

The Sage gestured toward the sky, where the planet's new "Moon"—the Island of Reincarnation—hung as a replacement for the moon destroyed by the Apocalypse Dragon.

"Take care, Maknae," Wukong said before dissolving into a streak of golden light that shot toward the stars. "See you soon."

[Constellation 'Most Ancient Liberator' looks at its fifth self 'The Novel's Extra'.]

As the dust settled, the screens of pop-up messages flickered with a finality that felt like a closing book.

[Arc: 'The War of Convergence' has finally concluded!]

Hajin felt a vibration on his wrist. He looked down at his smartwatch to see an email from a sender that made his blood run cold: the Co-Author.

From: Co-author

Subject: Good job with surviving by now!

Hajin,

How is your collaboration going?

My next world and novel are doing pretty good! It's actually so inspiring to write your own world from the very beginning.

I'm using those resources I got after loaning your Soul and Story very well! ...

...

...

Hajin stared at the screen, his jaw tightening as he read the Co-Author's boast about building a new world from the "scrap" of his own soul.

He didn't finish the message.

Instead, he pulled up a long-dormant reward: the option to ask the Co-Author a single question.

He stared at the blank "Type in your question" field.

With a grimace of pure spite, he typed: Fuck You!

[System Error!]

[Input must be in the form of a question.]

Hajin rubbed his chin for a second, a dark glint in his eyes, and added a single character: Fuck You?!

He hit send, seasoning the message with a concentrated portion of Unfortune and Bad Luck harvested from the battlefield.

He didn't know if the system would deliver the curse, but the petty satisfaction was worth the attempt.

Suddenly, the command center's lights dimmed as the very air turned into ink.

[The 'Star Will' is manifesting its 'Arc'.]

[Arc: End of the Unwritten is now in progress.]

Kim Hajin watched the messages with a sinking feeling.

Out of thin air a Dokkaebi appeared.

It curdled into a singular point of light, manifesting as a floating, furred creature with horns. The Dokkaebi hovered in the center of the underground room, its eyes gleaming with a mixture of malice and excitement.

"The end is near, yet so many of you are still drifting without an anchor," the Dokkaebi chirped, its voice echoing with the authority of the System. "The Star Will does not tolerate those who have no place in its narrative".

With a snap of its fingers, a new window materialized.

"Choose carefully," the Dokkaebi warned. "Those who refuse to align will find themselves erased before the final curtain even rises".

Suddenly, the air was flooded with shimmering messages from the heavens

[Constellation, 'Demon-like Judge of Fire', invites you to !]

[Constellation, 'Midday Sun', invites you to !]

[Constellation, 'God of Wine and Ecstasy', looks at you!]

[Many Demon Kings are waiting for your choice!]

[Numerous Outer beings are intrigued!]

A violent earthquake rocked the Essence of the Strait laboratory. Yoo Yeonha gripped the edge of a console, her face pale as she looked toward the monitors.

"It looks like the battle outside is reaching its climax," she noted, her voice trembling slightly.

She turned to Kim Hajin, who was lost in thought. She poked him sharply on the shoulder. "Do what you do every time, Hajin," she whispered. "I'm sure you will make the right choice."

In front of Hajin, a piece of paper manifested. Using his Stigma and Young Dwarf's Dexterity, he scribbled a list of things onto it.

"Please, prepare it for me," he checked his Stigma inventory, pulling out a black card of Essence of the Strait, "I hope my expenses as the counselor of Essential Armory will be covered."

He smiled before vanishing in a flash of light.

Yoo Yeonha couldn't help but scoff.

"He's still the same."

Bornova Gustav approached Yeonha, his expression grim.

"Miss Guildmaster, the casualty reports are coming in," he began. "We have lost Xio Derecha (Miss Judgment) and Emlyn White (The Moon) from the Tarot Club. In South America, most of the beyonders have lost control due to the Inextinguishable Ravings. In Europe, it is known that Lee Gilyoung of Kim Dokja's Company—"

"Shut up!" Yeonha interrupted.

"Miss I..."

***

Hajin materialized in his Seoul apartment. It was a miracle the building still stood; the apartment directly below had been consumed by demonic energy and burnt to a husk, but his own sanctuary remained.

He stepped onto the balcony, looking out over the shattered skyline of a city he had come to call home.

Even if it wasn't his Seoul, he had spent enough time here for the roots to take hold.

He turned back to the room, where Evandel lay sleeping on the bed, guarded by the white cat, Hayang.

Hajin remembered her voice during the Journey to the West in

"Dad."

He repeated the word softly, chuckling and sighing in the same breath.

He looked toward the stars, thinking of the parents he had left behind in his original world.

"How can I possibly leave this world now?" he whispered. "I love them".

A giant phoenix, a stray monster, shrieked as it flew past his balcony. Hajin didn't even look; he casually raised his Desert Eagle, infused a bullet with anti-magic, and shot it out of the sky.

The lights of the city flickered, signaling that the battle in the center of Seoul was far from over. Hajin wiped a single tear from his cheek, stepped to the bed, and placed a soft kiss on Evandel's head as he tucked the cover around her.

With a flash of Spartan, he teleported again.

This time, he appeared in the Chameleon Troupe's Sanctuary, hidden in an underwater cave beneath the English Channel.

The base was hollow and silent.

He had hoped to see her—the Boss—waiting for him here, but the cave was empty.

The lack of vibrations told him that the heavy fighting in Europe had likely concluded.

He sat on a high-level bench probably made by him and pulled out the Book of Truth.

"How can I create a Nebula?" he asked the empty cave.
