Chapter 85 - Chapter Eighty-One: Truth

Riverside was now completely out of control.

People from the Lower District ran everywhere, shouting, screaming, flipping carts, banging on pots and throwing buckets of water at the guards.

Amy walked in the middle of the madness.

"Alright, everyone, keep it loud!" Amy said.

A group of teenagers banged on a door with sticks.

One yelled, "OPEN UP, WE'RE HERE FOR—UH—NO REASON!"

Amy laughed. "Perfect. Just confuse them."

Guards rushed in.

"STOP THIS AT ONCE!" one guard shouted.

A dozen people surrounded him and started yelling nonsense at the top of their lungs.

"MY CHICKEN FLEW AWAY!"

"MY TOOTH HURTS!"

"THE SKY IS FALLING!"

The guard spins around in panic. "W-what is wrong with all of you?!"

A pot suddenly fell on his head.

Clonk!

"Sorry!" a little kid yelled, running away.

Another guard tried to push through, but people formed a human chain and blocked the street.

Amy clapped. "Nice teamwork!"

A little girl tugged on Amy's sleeve. "Miss Amy! Are we doing good?"

"You're doing amazing," Amy replied with a smile. "Just don't get hurt."

The little girl nodded and went right back to screaming about fake monsters.

Riverside had become chaotic.

Meanwhile in Highcrest…

Noise filled the streets as people shouted and argued with the guards for absolutely no reason.

People from the Lower District ran in circles like a stampede.

"I hope this work," Emma said with a sigh.

A man next to her shouts, "EMMA, WHAT SHOULD WE DO NOW?!"

"Uh… keep yelling," Emma replied.

"Yes, ma'am!" he said, then immediately screamed at the sky.

Two women argued with a guard about "taxes that didn't exist."

Another man laid on the ground pretending to cry for no reason.

Kids ran around acting like wild animals.

A guard threw his hands up. "PLEASE! ONE AT A TIME!"

Emma shook her head. "Poor guy."

People started banging on pots

CLANG!

CLANG!

CLANG!

CLANG!

Highcrest had fallen into complete confusion and chaos.

Back to the Mayor's Office…

Distant screams, banging pans, and chaotic shouting echoed through the walls.

Noah tilted his head. "Sounds like everything is going well."

Noah stepped out of the mayor's office and headed straight outside the house.

The first thing he saw when he stepped outside was the mayor holding a knife at Harris's neck.

"Stay away!" the mayor shouted. "One move and I'll stab him!"

"Noah, kill him," Harris said. "Don't worry about me."

The mayor trembled. "You think you won, but you will lose."

Noah unsheathed his sword and took a stance.

"Vector Manipulation—Gravity Slash."

Noah swung.

Before the attack reached him, the mayor stabbed Harris in the stomach.

Harris fell.

Noah's attack passed by and sliced off the mayor's right hand.

The mayor screamed in agony.

"Aaaahhh!!"

Noah walked toward him slowly.

"P-please spare me!" the mayor begged.

"Men who kidnap and rape kids are scum," Noah said.

He stabbed the mayor straight in the chest.

The mayor died instantly.

Noah crouched beside Harris and placed a hand over the wound.

"Vector Manipulation—Heal."

Warm energy spread. The wound closed.

Harris exhaled. "Thanks," he said.

Blip!

Noah vanished and appeared behind Emma.

"You need to stop doing that," Emma said, jumping a little.

"Sorry. Tell everyone to head back to the Lower District," Noah said before vanishing again.

Blip!

He appeared beside Amy.

"Noah, did you finish whatever you were doing?" Amy asked.

"Yes, I did," Noah replied.

Blip!

He then reappeared in front of Harris and helped him up.

"Let's go," Noah said.

Blip!

They teleported away.

A Few Hours Later.

The conflict was finally over. Azure was now free from the mayor and from Grudge.

Noah, Emma, Amy, and Harris sat around a table in Heaven's Kitchen.

"Today was brutal," Emma said, leaning back.

"We got rid of the mayor, Pirate Captain Grudge, and all his men," Amy said. "But we still didn't find the missing girls."

Emma sighed. "I asked Haru to gather information. Hopefully he finds something soon."

"No need for that," Noah said calmly.

He turned toward Harris.

"You're a sick man," Noah said. "You kidnapped your own daughter, captured your brother, and took weird pictures of your niece."

Amy quickly stands up.

"Why would I do that?" Harris asked. "The mayor even tried to kill me! He stabbed me!"

"He has a point," Emma said.

"No he doesn't. Don't act dumb," Noah replied. "You told the mayor to stab you, because you knew I could heal you."

"Noah, I don't think it's right to accuse an innocent person," Harris said.

"Okay," Noah said. "Then why do you have pictures of Amy?"

Harris swallowed. "I don't have any pictures of Amy in my daughter's room."

Amy's eyes widened.

"He didn't say where the pictures actually are," she said softly.

"I guess," Harris said, smiling nervously.

He stood and walked toward another table.

Then he started laughing.

"Okay… you caught me," Harris said. "But if you kill me, you won't find those girls… or my brother."

Amy's voice cracked. "Why would you kidnap people? Why would you kidnap Lena?"

"Isn't it obvious?" Harris replied. "I wanted power."

"What power?" Emma asked. "Lena is your daughter, you sick asshole!"

"You see…" Harris said. "People in my family are special."

"I DON'T WANT TO LISTEN TO YOUR SAD STORY," Noah said, leaning back.

"Let him talk," Amy said softly. "Please, Noah."

Noah sighed. "Fine. Go on. But you will die after."

Harris smiled nervously.

"Everyone in this world possesses something called Haki. Haki is a special power inside us all… but only a few can use it. However, my family's Haki is different. It's passes down through generations and

The firstborn is supposed to receive it."

Noah rolled his eyes.

Harris continued.

"But my parents denied me my birth right and gave the Haki to my little brother instead. At first I didn't care… but every time we trained, I could tell that he was holding back. I wanted his power. So I made a deal with the mayor, will help him kidnap and sell teenage girls, only if he gets rid of my brother."

Amy clenched her fists.

Harris smirked.

"When my brother almost learned the truth about me and the mayor, I asked captain Grudge to wound him and leave him near death.

Everything was going perfect until my brother passed the Haki to Amy instead of me."

Amy trembled in anger.

Emma snapped. "That still doesn't explain the pictures!"

Harris licked his lips.

"As for the pictures…maybe I wanted Amy to be my bride or maybe i just like pretty things."

Emma got up and rushed him, but Noah grabbed her arm.

"You can't kill me," Harris said. "If I die, you won't find anyone."

Noah chuckled. "I already found everyone."

Amy gasped. "You did? Did you see my dad?"

Noah nodded. "Your dad is fine."

"That's impossible!" Harris shouted. "How did you find them?!"

"When I healed Amy's dad," Noah said, "my vector waves entered his body. Anything my vector waves are connected to … I can teleport to."

Noah smirked.

"That's how I found out about everything. You visited your brother while he was chained up and he tolded me everything."

"And as for your daughter she's safe but she hates you."

Harris clapped.

"This was fun, Harris…" Noah said. "But the game's over."

Harris laughed...he dips into his pocket and pulled out several pills,he then dumped them all into his mouth.

He swallowed.

His entire body started to convulse.

Bones cracked.

Skin stretched.

Veins bulged like worms under his flesh.

His jaw split wide open.

His eyes rolled back and turned pitch-black.

His arms expanded, muscle ripping through the skin.

His back hunched.

Spikes tore through his spine.

His skin turned purple and gray, bubbling like boiling tar.

His voice twisted into something inhuman.

"Y̵o̶u̶… s̷h̴o̷u̴l̵d̶n̶'̷t̶… h̵a̷v̵e̴… f̸o̵u̶n̴d̸… t̶h̵e̷m̶…"
