The kids in the Boruto era had stars in their eyes.
Four generations of myth just leapt off the page and kicked the sky in the teeth.
"Ready?"
Naruto and Minato traded a look—no words, all trust—and both cloaked in Nine-Tails chakra. Minato spun up a Rasengan; Naruto laced his own with sage chakra till it crackled like a tiny red sun.
Tobirama ghosted in behind them and clamped a hand on each shoulder. His mark already burned on Obito's back.
"Top-down delivery," he muttered. "One cap-slam and this ends."
[Obito: "You're all just souls waiting for my blade."]
[Kakashi: "If you can't trust your comrades, you've already lost."]
[Minato: "Turn back, Obito!"]
Blue flash. The trio appeared above Six Paths Obito.
Obito's head snapped; the five flame lobes at his back fused into a giant hand that tore the air—and Naruto, quick as breath, grabbed the flame hand to hold it wide.
"Rasengan!!" father and son roared in unison.
Obito's staff leveled; the Truth-Seeking Orbs folded forward—and with a harsh cross-cutting motion—
"Cross Flame."
Steel-on-steel screech from empty air. Pressure lines spider-webbed the sky.
Then the orbs detonated, backblasting all three like leaves in a typhoon.
They skidded out of the smoke—Naruto and Minato eating dirt.
"That black stuff is insanely hard…" Naruto hissed through his teeth.
"Anticipated us," Tobirama said, frowning. "One Flying Thunder God isn't enough."
"Then we break the black," Naruto said, eyes flat. "With this."
He inhaled. "I'm packing senjutsu into a Tailed Beast Bomb."
Both Nine-Tails avatars began spinning twin, ominous spheres—bijūdama taking on that telltale sage sheen.
[Sarada: "Seventh is a genius…"]
[Itachi: "His live-combat reads… far beyond mine."]
[Fugaku: "Sasuke, learn from Naruto."]
[Sasuke: "…Tch."]
Across the field Obito's eyes cooled to winter. Waiting was death. He surged skyward, hands clapped—
—and dragged the Ten-Tails out of Kamui.
The world lurched.
The beast's back split, flowering a lurid red bud. From its flesh, roots erupted and plunged into the earth. The ground bucked—then the roots hunted, lashing across the plain. Anyone they snagged shriveled in a heartbeat, chakra sucked dry, bodies collapsing like rained-on paper lanterns.
[Boruto: "I'm learning Flying Thunder God!"]
Back in the present, Boruto barreled into the Hokage's office.
"It isn't easy," Naruto said, ruffling his hair. "Space-time aptitude, a lot of—"
"I've got talent," Boruto grinned.
"…Fine. Scroll back by evening," Naruto sighed, smiling despite himself.
[Sarada: "So jealous… why isn't my dad the Seventh…"]
[Adult Sasuke: "…"]
On the shattered front, father and son stood against a god.
They had forced him to unsheathe the entire Ten-Tails. That alone said enough about their will.
The Ten-Tails roared. More roots surged.
Minato's bijūdama darkened, Naruto's flared with vermilion veins of natural energy.
Obito lifted his staff. "Dream time."
The red bud on the Ten-Tails pulsed like a heart. The ground trembled like a drum.
Naruto glanced at his father. Minato nodded back, kunai twirling.
Two orbs—one golden, one blood-red—rose in tandem, humming toward critical.
And from above, the roots converged—
—while Obito's Cross Flame traced a burning X through the air, cutting straight for their charge.
Next: Sage Bomb vs. Cross Flame—does a god blink first, or does the world?
