Chapter 3 - The Crash,The Rebirth

Meanwhile, Rose had barely caught her breath after presenting the business proposal, determined not to disappoint her father or the intended date. She rushed out of the office and sprinted towards her car. Ella's body ached, bruises stung, and the heavy rain drenched her clothes. Rose, desperate to meet up with her date, was on high speed.

Unbeknownst to Ella, Jayla Thomas, Mr. Adrian's first love, had been lurking nearby, consumed by jealousy and resentment. Foiled by spite, she raved to the car and aimed directly at Ella, who was running through the flooded streets. The rain poured relentlessly, slicking the roads and making visibility nearly impossible. Traffic rolled, horns blared, and chaos erupted around the intersection. Rose sped through the streets, hands gripping the steering wheel. As adrenaline surged through her veins, the crash came.

A screech of tires, the shattering of glass. Ella was struck down, thrown violently to the ground, and Rose, unable to stop in time, was caught in the aftermath. Rose's head slammed against the steering wheel, blood trickling down her face. Meanwhile, Ella lay in the rain, her soaked hair plastered to her cheeks.

Bystanders screamed and rushed forward, desperately dragging the two women from the wreckage. Paramedics arrived quickly, loading them into the ambulance. At the hospital, the doctors were stunned. Rose and Ella's resemblance was uncanny—so striking that even the medical staff struggled to tell them apart, though they were admitted to the same facility. The severity of their injuries required them to be placed in separate rooms. Machines beeped and monitors flashed, keeping track of their fragile vitals, while outside, the storm continued to rage, mirroring the chaos that had brought them there.

Ella and Rose laid on their hospital beds, their body unresponsive to treatment. It had been a week after the accident, yet there was no chance of recovery, no hope for any. The doctors warned that their chances of survival were slim. Their bodies stubbornly refused to cooperate. Though they were in separate rooms, their condition mirrored each other, a silent echo of fate.

Mr. Martin Lucas, who had been away out of the city for business, was frantic when he heard of the accident,so he booked the next flight home. But the airways delayed all the flights due to the heavy rainfall, leaving him stranded and worried. He could only pray. Soon the Lucas family arrived at the hospital. When Mrs. Isabella Lucas inquired about Rose's condition, and the doctor delivered the grim news. Rose had slipped into a coma, and her chances of survival were only 40%. Isabella's phone rang. The doctor left to go do his rounds. She answered sharply. "You only had one job, and you still didn't do it right. How is she still breathing?" Well, at least she is in a coma.

Though Rose's body could not respond, she could hear every word. Her eyelids flickered open silently. As she listened to her mother, she listened as her mother said, "I will finish the work you couldn't do". As her mother reached to the oxygen tank,

The doctor walked in,Isabella Lucas, pretending to show affection to her daughter, kissed her by the forehead. With the doctor behind her, she silently whispers to Rose, just die.

Camilla called her mother outside, informing her of her father's arrival. Rose, in her bed, realized her brakes had been tampered with. Her will to leave dropped. She was no longer fighting back. Her monitor beeped and her heartbeat stopped. At that moment, Rose died.

Meanwhile, Ella laid in the other room, also trapped in a coma. In her mind, she reflected on her life, how she had given herself to people who did not deserve her, how she had endured pain without receiving care or love in return. No one of her family came to visit her while she battled for her life. They had wished for her death. She regretted the ways she had wronged herself to please others and silently begged for a chance at life again.

Her monitor beeped, too, and her heartbeat stopped. Nurses ran to inform the doctors. The doctors' disheartened recorded the times of her death. 3pm August 16.

Mr. Martin Lucas finally arrived, rushing to the hospital when the doctors informed him that Rose had died. He collapsed, grief overtaking him. He wailed and cried uncontrollably. Just like a small child, he cried.

At around 6pm August 16,like a miracle, something extraordinary happened. The machine in both rooms began beeping again, steadily. This time, the doctors rushed into the separate rooms. Both hearts were beating once again. In separate rooms, Ella and Rose awoke simultaneously, miraculously restored to life. This was their rebirth.A chance to change their fate.

Within less than a month, their organs were fully recovered. It was the day of the discharge. Mr. Martin came with roses, balloons, and gifts of all kinds to pick Rose from the hospital. He had her room at home decorated, still trying to process her near death experience. She just stayed quiet. Her dad, Mr. Martin, hugged and gave her comfort. He understood she was still in shock, but Rose's mind pondered, Does my mother want to kill me? Was my accident planned? Numerous questions filled her mind. Although Rose didn't meet Ella, she felt like a part of her was left behind at the hospital. They entered the car and rode off to the Lucas home

It had been a month since Ella woke up coma. The pain still lingered. The wounds on her body had healed physically, but the ache in her heart remained fresh, raw, and unrelenting. Her mind swerved with questions that had no answers. Whose daughter was she truly? Did her parents ever try to find her? Why had they abandoned her? Did she have other siblings who were loved while she was discarded? Day and night, Ella pondered, her thoughts a constant storm.

It was a warm afternoon, the sun glowing gently across the hospital grounds. The doctor entered and told her she was being discharged. When she asked about the hospital bills, he replied, "It has already been cleared."

"By who?" she asked.

The doctor replied, "The person requested to remain anonymous."

Ella's heart stirred. No one from her family had come to see her—not once—yet someone had cared enough to pay her bills. Whoever it was, she was grateful. She stepped out of the hospital, the sunlight almost blinding her after weeks of being indoors. But as the door closed behind her, she froze. Unsure where to go next, home was no longer an option.

A sleek black jeep rolled to a stop before her. The driver stepped out and opened the door.

"Miss Ella Robinson," he said calmly. "Please come with me."

Confused but too wary to question, Ella got in. She didn't know where she was going, only that anywhere was better

than standing alone in front of the hospital.
