Arcane's gaze softened, a look he had never shown anyone since his mother's death. Even Arcane himself sometimes forgot when he had last smiled like that.
But Julian managed to bring back the smile and the warmth that had been missing from him all this time. Though he didn't understand why he could feel this way toward someone like Julian, he was very happy.
"I was so afraid to express my feelings to you. I was the one who made the rule that we shouldn't like each other, but I was also the one who broke it. But I don't regret it," said Arcane.
Now they were sitting side by side on the sofa, with Julian leaning on her shoulder. She felt much better and relieved now that she had expressed her feelings.
Although it wasn't a romantic situation, knowing that Julian felt the same way made her very happy.
Julian himself felt his heart warm, filled with happiness because Arcane hadn't just been acting all this time. The man truly liked him.
