Chapter 1 - Always Begins on a Rainy Night

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the way I had to go, I have kept the faith I had to keep. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness."

The broken soul dragged its weary steps across the endless snowfield, finally reaching its destination.

"I've reached the end... Is this my final destination?"

This journey seems to have taken far too long.

The man who abandoned his former ideal of being a "partner of justice" and chose "the happiness of those around him," burning his body and soul for it, has reached his rightful end.

"Ah... what a journey it was, like chasing the invisible moon under a long, dark night..."

He closed his eyes, and his dying soul began to fall, as if sinking into an endless ocean of nothingness.

The journey of the man named Emiya Shirou seems to have come to an end.

A torrential downpour was falling from the sky.

This rain was as cold as ice; this rain washed everything away.

Emiya Shirou suddenly opened his eyes.

The solid wood ceiling came into view, and the warm touch of blankets and quilts enveloped my body. I felt a tingling sensation from all the wounds on my body, as if the injured areas were healing at an extraordinary speed.

This place was unlike any scene he remembered; it was a wooden cabin he had never seen before.

The bright moonlight streamed into the room through the window, illuminating the boy's handsome features and fiery red hair.

  "here it is..."

He remembered everything that had happened before.

He had clearly died, yet he came back to life in this world, and his body had returned to that of a child.

Moreover, from the moment he woke up, he was imprisoned in a dungeon.

Those people appear to be an organization known as the "Dark Faction," which engages in human trafficking activities in various places.

He seized an opportunity, took a weapon from the man guarding him, and promptly killed him.

Although his body had returned to a childlike state, and both his magic and the power he had trained had disappeared, his combat skills and awareness remained in his memory, and more importantly, his [resolve] was always deeply engraved in his soul.

He then tried to escape, but was caught by someone who was incredibly strong, far exceeding human limits.

While shouting, "I'm a Level 3 high-ranking adventurer, you ignorant brat!", the other party beat Emiya until he was covered in bruises.

However, due to internal disputes, the other party did not kill him directly.

"That little bastard killed our people, I'm going to chop him into mincemeat and feed him to the monsters!"

"Wait a minute, this brat didn't have any divine favor, yet he managed to kill a Level 1 adventurer. It's such a waste to just kill him like that..."

Those people argued about how to deal with the boy, but soon they no longer had to worry about it.

A sharp gust of wind rushed in.

Wielding a katana and wearing a mask and hood, the woman began a massacre of the members of the Dark Faction. They seemed more powerless than children in front of this swordswoman. The great adventurer who kept mentioning "Lv.3" and repeatedly boasting about his level was beheaded before he could even react.

The female swordsman engaged in fierce fighting at the stronghold of the Dark Faction. Although she was injured by the traps, she still swiftly defeated all the enemies. Finally, she came to the unconscious boy, hesitated for a long time, and finally carried the seriously injured boy on her back.

"I guess she saved me." Back to the present, Emiya looked at his slender arms and the child's body, which were still too weak. More importantly, he had no magic power in his body and could not sense the existence of magic circuits, so he could not use his specialty, Projection Magic.

He slowly propped himself up, then immediately lay back down.

Intense pain coursed through his body. He struggled to lift the blanket and checked the bandage wrapped around his abdomen, confirming that he had received proper treatment.

His left hand is definitely broken, and he probably has several broken ribs as well, along with some other superficial injuries.

"My injuries should have been much worse, and... ouch..."

The pain and itching in his left arm made him gasp slightly. Intuition and experience told him that his bones were healing at an abnormal speed.

  "Ah, you're awake, that's wonderful."

As the door opened, a young girl walked in.

  "Who are you...?"

"Ah, get up slowly. Although your legs are not seriously injured, you still need to be careful. Even with the 'panacea,' such a serious injury cannot be recovered quickly."

The girl was holding a wooden bucket filled with warm water. She had light silver hair and eyes of the same color, and her soft voice revealed an ethereal quality that did not match her appearance.

She was dressed in what appeared to be a maid's outfit or a shop assistant's uniform, and smiled at the boy: "My name is Seele, Seele Frova."

Was she the one who saved him...? No, it shouldn't be the same person. Shirou thought for a moment. The female swordsman should be someone else. However, the girl in front of him should be the one who helped him with his treatment.

"My name is Emiya, Emiya Shirou."

"Emiya? That sounds like a name from the Eastern Lands. Shirou-kun, is it alright to call me that?"

  "Ah, uh, no problem."

Emiya Shirou currently looks no more than twelve or thirteen years old, so there's nothing wrong with Seele calling him affectionately and cutely; it's just a little embarrassing for someone whose soul is that of a young man.

  "You slept all day."

  "One day...?"

Emiya wasn't surprised by this; his only thought was, "I survived."

And what about the female swordsman who saved him? How is she now?

Seele dampened a towel with warm water and wiped Shirou's cheeks, her pale silver eyes meeting Shirou's as she began to explain the current situation.

Emiya didn't avoid her eyes. The girl in front of him, so charming and kind, reminded him of his junior named "Sakura."

"A down-to-earth village girl" or "the girl next door" is a good way to describe her, giving people a sense of everyday comfort.

"This is the tavern where I work. I found Shirou and another elf girl lying on the ground in an alley, so I brought you here "

"Is she alright?" Emiya asked immediately.

"Ah, she's more seriously injured," Seele replied. "She hasn't woken up yet… Shirou, do you know her name?"

"I don't know, I was just rescued by her..." the boy replied.

Seele nodded: "I see... So, Shirou, do you still remember where your home is?"

The boy was silent for a moment: "It should be somewhere very far away... no, here, there is probably no home for me."

Seele was speechless for a moment.
