Chapter 397 - Heal

In the previous compartment,

Seed of Destruction was bathed in blood, covered in wounds, appearing exceptionally tragic.

His opponent, Khârn, was in a similar state, and the two had fought to a terrifying degree.

But these two killing gods showed no signs of stopping; instead, their battle intensified, growing fiercer with each passing moment.

Meanwhile, Greater Daemon's figure became somewhat ethereal, seemingly on the verge of dissipating.

On his chest was a wound left by Be'lakor's Shadow Blade.

Alexander was certain that Be'lakor had recovered some of his former strength, likely because Tzeentch and Khorne had removed some of the shackles placed upon him, returning the power they had once bestowed.

His power had recovered to a level surpassing that of an ordinary Chief Greater Daemon, exceeding even Greater Daemon, almost equivalent to a Warp demigod.

Although Greater Daemon had severely wounded Be'lakor, he ultimately could not overcome him in battle and was defeated.

Gouda Greater Daemon's body swayed a few times, finally transforming into points of light and vanishing from the spot.

Aboard the Light Lord, Alexander slowly opened his eyes and looked into the four-dimensional pocket at Greater Daemon, who was entirely composed of Warp energy.

Gouda Greater Daemon was a daemon and possessed the daemon's immortal nature; what Be'lakor had destroyed was merely Greater Daemon's physical body in the material universe.

Given time, with a large amount of prayer and emotion as guidance, Greater Daemon could re-coalesce a physical body and reappear in the material universe.

Although Be'lakor had dealt with Greater Daemon, Alexander was not particularly anxious; Be'lakor regaining some of his former power was not beyond Alexander's expectations. Hmm, or rather, it wasn't beyond Guilliman's expectations.

Guilliman had analyzed the psychology of Khorne and Tzeentch: Khorne yearned for a new Champion, and Tzeentch longed for revenge against Alexander.

Both had conveniently lost their most effective Greater daemons and Champions, and deploying a daemon Primarch was too risky.

Under immense pressure, it was entirely possible they would loosen some of Be'lakor's punishment, allowing this Saint to step in.

Although Guilliman had predicted it, Guilliman was Alexander's daemon Prince, and Guilliman's wisdom was Alexander's wisdom; there was no need for a family to be so clear-cut.

But as long as Slaanesh and Nurgle stood with Alexander, as long as these two gods maintained their restrictions on Be'lakor, preventing him from returning to peak condition, he could not pose a true threat to Alexander.

After all, besides Greater Daemon, Alexander had another Greater Daemon in the Blessed Lady.

Just as Alexander was about to project his will back to the Blessed Lady, a message suddenly reached Alexander's mind via the Light Lord.

It was a message from Kossolax, from the Conqueror.

Be'lakor's condition was very poor; when Greater Daemon realized he couldn't win and was pushed to the brink, he actually chose a suicidal attack.

As Be'lakor's Shadow Blade pierced his body, Greater Daemon seized the opportunity to lean his mouth close to Be'lakor's ear and unleash that terrifying song.

This song directly harmed Be'lakor's soul, shattered his thoughts, and completely deprived him of his hearing.

With his soul shattered and his sanity nearly lost, Be'lakor didn't even have time to confirm Greater Daemon's death.

He fled in a panic using Shadow Teleportation, scrambling into this compartment.

The terrifying aura emanating from Titus stimulated the disoriented Be'lakor, who instinctively tried to backstab Titus, but Titus defended himself using the prophetic ability granted by Konrad Curze.

innocence and Shadow Blade continuously clashed.

Relying on the portion of power granted by Konrad Curze, Titus was able to block Be'lakor, who was severely wounded, for a period of time.

Be'lakor, having recovered a little consciousness, instantly realized his situation was dire.

His condition was too poor, and this Ultramarines before him was clearly strange. Even if Be'lakor wasn't afraid of him, if the battle dragged on and Khârn dealt with Seed of Destruction, freeing him up, Be'lakor in this state, facing a pincer attack from Titus and Khârn,

Wouldn't that be a dead end?

There was also Raven Guard Sarojin.

In his current state, Be'lakor absolutely could not withstand Sarojin's sniping. Raven Guard could arrive from the previous compartment at any moment, then hide in the shadows and snipe Be'lakor.

Be'lakor quickly realized that he must immediately find a way to recover some of his strength.

He needed to find a soft target to squeeze; this soft target couldn't be too soft, his soul had to have some power, because Be'lakor needed to kill him, devour him, and use his soul to restore his own state.

First, this Ultramarines named Titus was ruled out; his soul felt very wrong to Be'lakor. Be'lakor even suspected he couldn't digest his soul at all.

Then there was the cursed Kaso. That Death Company Dreadnought was clearly consumed by the Black Rage; his soul belonged entirely to Sanguinius, and Be'lakor most likely couldn't consume it either.

Seth was in a similar situation; this Chapter Master of the Flesh Tearers was too deeply affected by the Black Rage. Before dying, he might choose to completely succumb to the Black Rage, binding himself closely to Sanguinius, becoming a tough nut to crack.

What about the Khorne beast currently battling the Ultramarines and Astartes? It must be said that Erebus had some skill in daemonology; this Khorne beast wasn't a particularly soft target and would be difficult to deal with quickly.

As he watched, Be'lakor's gaze fell upon Erebus.

Erebus, who was constantly summoning daemons and suppressing Kaso and the Astartes attempting to kill him, noticed Be'lakor's gaze, with a slight bewilderment in his eyes, seemingly not quite understanding why Be'lakor was looking at him that way.

A soft target.

Be'lakor hesitated almost not at all, instantly diving into the shadows.

Before Erebus could understand the meaning of Be'lakor's gaze, Be'lakor emerged from the shadows and appeared behind Erebus.

Erebus turned his head to look at Be'lakor, bewildered and confused.

Be'lakor grinned, then opened his gaping maw and bit down on Erebus' upper half, but didn't bite him in half in one go.

Erebus was pierced by Be'lakor's teeth, struggling in pain, twisting his body.

Be'lakor ignored this comical struggle, sharply raised his head, slightly opened his mouth, and directly swallowed Erebus whole.

Blood and fluids splattered from between Be'lakor's lips and teeth, then in the blink of an eye, transformed into coarse muscle and azure feathers.

The wounds on Be'lakor's body began to heal. But whether it was an illusion or not, Be'lakor vaguely felt a stomach ache.
