Chapter 379 - Berserker

A Chainsword thrust out from the Warp portal, aiming directly for Captain Karlaen's head.

Captain Karlaen hastily twisted his body, and relying on the speed granted by the high-efficiency pills, he barely managed to avoid a fatal blow.

But the Chainsword, fused with flesh, still pierced directly through Captain Karlaen's Terminator Power Armor and into Captain Karlaen's shoulder, almost severing one of Captain Karlaen's arms.

Captain Karlaen cried out in pain, wanting to quickly drop the Baal's Wrath in his hand and grab the Denkōmaru hanging at his waist.

But before Captain Karlaen could reach out, the severely mutated World Eater, almost a daemon, suddenly raised his head, his eyes full of Bloodthirster frenzy locking directly with Captain Karlaen's.

"Kill!!!!"

A roar filled with savagery, anger, killing intent, and obsession shot towards Captain Karlaen's face.

Instantly, it was as if a Bloodthirster had possessed this World Eater, terrifying and grotesque, drawing the Blood God's wrath down upon the mortal realm.

And that wrath, coming directly from the Blood God, pierced Captain Karlaen's mind, burning straight into his soul.

He trembled all over, his body suddenly stiff, all thoughts in his mind burned away by this wrath, only fear remained.

Captain Karlaen instinctively retreated, the roaring Chainsword pulled out from his body, blood gushing out uncontrollably, splattering on the ground, the intense pain making it difficult for Captain Karlaen to stand steady.

But the last shred of his sanity allowed him to identify this World Eater: Tuf the Eightbound, one of the most terrifying and powerful of the Eight Bound, whose flesh harbored at least one Khorne Greater Daemon Bloodthirster among the eight daemons.

More information, even Alexander's book, "Warp Knowledge Even Psykic Muggles Say Is Good," did not record, as it seemed he himself did not know much about it.

Seeing Captain Karlaen retreat, TuF swung the Chainsword fused with his arm and gave chase.

The grotesque Chainsword flicked slightly, and before Captain Karlaen could react, his Denkōmaru at his waist was struck away, falling into the pool of blood and disappearing.

After striking away Denkōmaru, Tuf was not in a hurry; instead, he let out a savage roar, and a Warp evil force rippled from his entire body, the Blood God's wrath igniting in the material universe, surging towards the Eight Bound and Godly Eight-Bound killed by Captain Karlaen and the Blood Angels.

The Blood God's eternal wrath seemed to reignite their vitality, the Khorne daemons entrenched within them shrieked sharply, their flesh writhing to fill the wounds on their bodies.

Thus, dead warriors resurrected out of thin air, standing up bathed in blood, only their forms were more twisted, their flesh more deformed, and their degree of daemon control was deeper.

This sent a shiver down Captain Karlaen's spine; he clutched the wound on his shoulder, blood still gushing out, and his body was too stiff to move.

The other Blood Angels around him also fell into a similar state.

It seemed that the Blood God's wrath truly resided within Tuf, forcefully suppressing all emotions except anger and fear.

Tuf let out a low growl and charged in front of Captain Karlaen in the blink of an eye, the grotesque Chainsword already raised, aiming directly for Captain Karlaen's neck.

At this moment, Captain Karlaen gritted his teeth; to resist the boundless wrath rolling from Tuf, Captain Karlaen's only option was…

His fangs slightly elongated and pressed against his lower jaw, the craving for blood growing rapidly from Captain Karlaen's body, a crimson hunger was engulfing him — — — — — —

Clang!!!!

Chainsword and Chainsword collided.

Just as Captain Karlaen was about to awaken the crimson hunger, to use the craving for blood and anger to counter the Blood God's wrath, a Blue-Armored Warrior suddenly stepped onto the battlefield, wielding the bloody Chainsword in his hand and clashing with Tuf.

Chainswords collided, the buzzing deafening; the sudden appearance of the Blue-Armored Warrior caught Tuf off guard, making him slightly lose his balance and hastily retreat two steps.

The Blue-Armored Warrior's gaze swept over Captain Karlaen, seeing the wounds on Captain Karlaen's body, seeing the blood-soaked Blood Angels Terminators, seeing the fallen warriors, and a fierce rage instantly flashed in his eyes.

"Traitor!!!"

"Kill!!!"

Titus and Tuf simultaneously let out an angry war cry.

And Titus' wrath was clearly superior; the wrath in his war cry seemed to materialize and burn all around, causing Tuf to stiffen slightly.

The sharp Chainsword, innocence, swung towards Tuf; Tuf hastily raised the Chainsword fused with his flesh, and the two collided.

In a pure contest of strength, Titus should not have been able to defeat Tuf, who was possessed by a Bloodthirster.

But Captain Karlaen noticed that Titus had taken off his power gauntlets and instead put on a slightly small white glove.

The hundred-ton strength granted by the Superman Gloves and the anger constantly burning in Titus' heart poured out through the Chainsword; under the intense collision of power, Titus and Tuf each retreated two or three steps.

Tuf's face was grotesque, letting out a bloody roar, carrying the stench of sulfur directly at Titus' face.

He tried to use the wrath bestowed by the Blood God to awaken Titus' cowardice.

But Titus showed no reaction, seemingly completely devoid of fear.

This made Tuf slightly stunned.

How could there be an Ultramarines who was stronger than him, more fearless than him, and angrier than him?

Was it he who was possessed by a Bloodthirster, or was it Titus?

"Be careful, this is Tuf, he is possessed by a Khorne Bloodthirster." Captain Karlaen said, dragging his injured arm and holding Baal's Wrath with one hand.

"Is he stronger, or is a Khorne daemon Prince stronger?" Titus asked in a deep voice.

What kind of question is that? Captain Karlaen was stunned for a moment, then, after a brief thought, said, "They should be about the same."

"Then I should be able to win." Titus nodded slightly.

Hearing this, Tuf, feeling underestimated, burned with even deeper anger.

He was not merely an Eight Bound possessed by a Bloodthirster; he was also a vessel for the Blood God's wrath.

For the World Eaters, every battlefield was an altar for sacrifice, and where blood was spilled, it was hallowed ground.

And upon this sacred altar, the most recognized, strongest, angriest, most favored by the Blood God, and most pleasing warrior would receive the Blood God's blessing; the Blood God would lower his status and lend a portion of his wrath to that devotee.

Tuf was the vessel of wrath on this battlefield, the Blood God's wrath residing in his body… Huh?

Wait, wait? Where's the fire?

Where did that huge Blood God's wrath go?!

Tuf felt with horror that the Blood God's wrath was leaving him, being drawn out of his body.

Then, this wrath was surging towards…

"I feel it, Captain Karlaen."

In Titus' eyes, fierce wrath burned intensely, glowing like a malevolent star:

"I feel the Emperor's wrath; the Emperor desires me to unleash my anger upon these vile enemies."

Tuf was dumbfounded.

Erebus was also stunned.

He observed the battlefield through the blood pool; as the one who set up the entire blood altar, Erebus could feel the change in the identity of the Blood God's wrath vessel on the battlefield; the Blood God's wrath no longer deigned to reside within Tuf's body.

Instead, it had descended into that Ultramarines, into the body of that Ultramarines Second Company Captain named Titus—the Blood God had blessed him, the Blood God had shared his wrath with him.

This was not corruption; this was a pure reward, the Blood God was helping his enemy.

Most people encountering such a situation would probably have lost their minds.

But Erebus quickly reacted and understood the Blood God's intention.

As the Hand of Destiny, Erebus had always been very good at discerning the will of the gods.

The condition the Blood God had given when offering help to Erebus was… to find a new Chosen for the Blood God, one who could act as his will.

Erebus had originally thought that the Blood God meant for Erebus to help him select a candidate.

But now, the Blood God had blessed Titus in front of Erebus, which was tantamount to directly telling Erebus that He already had a choice.

He wanted Titus; the reason he helped Erebus was to have Erebus corrupt Titus.

Erebus' expression twitched.

And it had to be now…

If he violated his agreement with the Blood God and did not provide help at this moment, did not try his best to corrupt Titus, the Blood God would inevitably withdraw his help to Erebus.

Then everything would be over; Erebus was currently forcibly controlling the Conqueror with the Blood God's blessing.

If the Blood God withdrew his help, Erebus would have to face the Conqueror's wrath.

Moreover, this might anger the Blood God, causing the Blood God to become Erebus' enemy; at that time, Erebus would have to face the dual wrath of Saint Doraemon and Khorne, and Erebus could only rely on a not-so-reliable Tzeentch.

Corrupting Titus, Erebus did not think he couldn't do it.

He could even corrupt Horus, let alone a mere former Second Company Captain?

The ritual dagger, forged from an annihilus blade, inherently had the effect of corrupting the greatest warriors; it only needed to lightly graze Titus with the ritual dagger, and he would surely be corrupted.

But what Erebus truly worried about was not merely Titus; he worried about Sarojin, who was always lurking in the shadows, at an unknown location.

Erebus was not so foolish as to think that merely wearing a helmet would protect him from Sarojin's sniping.

But in the end, Erebus still gritted his teeth.

He had to at least try, at least to give an explanation to the Blood God.

Even if the result of this attempt was ultimately a failure, he could at least give an explanation to Khorne and, with the excuse of continuing to work hard in the future, continue to gain the Blood God's support.

Erebus also secretly made up his mind: once he encountered resistance, he would immediately and quickly use the ritual dagger to tear open reality and escape, not staying for a moment longer.

He drew the ritual dagger from his waist and lightly slashed it through the void.
